- Alfie is on BBC local radio today.
JD, that's normal for the newspapers!! - 2012-01-22 18:38 JD
- Sadly not many people turned out for the search today and I was very grateful for the support from my team; but we did manage to get posters into a wider area including villages in a ten mile radius. No sightings, no sounds, nothing. The media coverage that Rod has organised have not been entirely accurate in their stories especially the newspapers that have got secondhand information from media agencies. Doglost has been quoted in every interview, their posters are everywhere and were also on Midlands Today. Sadly, we have little control over what is actually printed. RP is not a pet detective agency and this has never been stated. It really doesn't bother me what is put just so long as Alfie's face is in everyones minds and thoughts and he is spotted and found.Last edited: 2012-01-22 18:39:37 by JD

- Nice big article on Alfie in the Daily Mail today. It mentions a Pet Detective agency volunteers helping which I presume are Dog Lost Helpers. Pity It could not have given Dog Lost a proper mention. Hopefully the publicity will help to bring Alfie home where he belongs.Last edited: 2012-01-20 10:33:24 by k9chum

- Very emotional interview tonight on Midlands today t.v. Alfie belonged to the owner's late wife, and he's a 'lifeline' to her memory.... Looked like he wasn't down that particular badger hole......

- Please owners ring the fell and Moorland terrier club....they specialise...free of charge...in situations like this where dogs go underground...gooogle them and they will give you local working dog owners contacts that know more than we do.

- Dog disappeared down hole whilst on walk Saturday a.m. Owner had started to slightly clear entrance to hole, but police received a complaint that someone was disturbing a badger sett so owner had to stop. They spent the whole weekend staking out the hole. Barking was heard from underground on Saturday, but is now silent. Identified by badger society as a badger sett so needed licence to dig. RP organised Natural England Wildlife advisor to give licence to use snake cam today - 3 hours of snaking found no evidence of the dog. Owner now thinks dog has come back out at some so have asked for help in form of a search. If more barking from sett is heard, Natural England will possibly grant licence for dig.Last edited: 2012-01-16 21:26:55 by JD

- Sorry to see that ALFIE is missing.
- If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
- Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
- A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (36331)
- Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
- You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
- Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
- If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
- If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
- Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
- DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
