- Thank and bless you for caring 'Justahunch'. I believe that our instincts should be listened to - sometimes they are all we have to go on, as may well be the case here! Nothing ventured....and fingers and paws tightly crossed.

- Hello
I'm hoping that I'm not setting false hope, but I saw a little girl with a tiny black and tan chihuahua who was acting strangely with it (wasn't really treating with much care and the dog looked scared of her, it made me feel uncomfortable) something didn't seem right so I went over to stroke the dog. When I asked what its name was, she took quite a while to tell me (she had to think about it! and gave me a girls name -Lucy, then kept changing the dogs gender when speaking about it, she was old enough to know about genders etc in speech), there was just something about the way she was being with it, she didn't behave like it was hers, really had little regard for it, then having to think about its name, just all seemed very odd to me. Also, the dog seemed scared of her and unafraid of me (a total stranger) seemed to want to be picked up by me, was looking around a lot and when I was stroking it was whimpering quietly and kept on trying to climb onto my knee (I was knelt down). It really is 'just a hunch' but something told me there was something very wrong with the situation, I'm just following my gut instinct here. The girl was unattended, again rather strange as she was quite young (8 or 9..??).
Anyway, this all happened yesterday at The Lookout in Bracknell and I've been looking to see what I can do about it ever since, as I have so little useful information to give anyone! I tried to call the police (101) to explain what I saw and if there was a 'stolen dog' list that might have a match to the dog that I saw. (I have a name from the collar, but its likely that they changed it anyway if she had a collar on when lost, I can give this name if you want). But then, I stumbled across this website, saw this description, (similar dog in similar area, lost recently) and just thought I'd do the right thing (I hope) and send a message, as the Police were unable to do anything as I had so little information to give. I could be barking up the wrong tree totally and the dog may well have been this little girls, but I thought I'd follow my hunch. Then at least if you feel its a possible lead you could go the The Lookout and see if she turns up again with the dog, or if they have CCTV..?? I don't know... but if it was my dog, I'd want anyone with any info at all to get in touch, so I hope I'm not giving false hope, I hope this will be useful information. I really hope you find your dog. I know what its like to lose a pet and never know what happened to it, so this felt like the right thing to do, good luck. Regards, 'justahunch'... - 2012-01-18 11:10
