If Max went into the garden at roughly the same times then it seems to me the thief knew this, unless it was a 'chance' theft. I don't know how your garden is fenced or if Max could be seen through the fence. It just seems strange that the thief knew what time to 'hang around'. It may well be worth another try in the local papers. Have you thought about having a walk around the local parks, morning, lunch time and evenings when people walk their dogs? If Max is local then there is a chance he'll be out on a walk somewhere. Wish I lived nearer so i could be more 'hands on'. Good luck xx
Nat
It would now appear that Max was stolen from our garden as we found his collar down the side of the house today, it was open so not as if he'd got it off himself. Think someone must have come over fence. It makes more sense as I was never convinced he could have got out under the gate and just ran as there was no sight nor sound of him at all within minutes and gap under the gate seemed too small. I hope whoever has him is taking good care of him and loves him as much as we do x

I live too far away to help but I watch this thread every day and my thoughts are with you. I had my westie for 13 years so they all hold a special place in my heart. Max is in my prayers every day and I'm willing him home.xx

Hi. Still no sign of Max; been just over 4 weeks now so he will be 19 weeks old and grown quite a bit. Received a phone call this morning saying they had spotted a small white dog that didn't seem to be with an owner on a nearby field. I searched around, but didn't see any dogs at all. It was good to know that people are aware he is still missing and are looking out for him

Any news on Max :)

Thanks for keeping us up to date Nat. Keep positive. Carry on visiting the local dogs home at least once a week and get posters up far and wide. You have to make sure EVERYONE in the area is aware Max is still missing, make him too hot to handle x
Nat
Unfortunately, still no news on Max :( He has been missing for 10 days now. I would like to thank everyone for all their help and think dogslost is amazing. It's a shame to realise how many dogs actually go missing each day x

Spoken to owner, Max was in the garden and only out of sight for seconds, the garden is secure but he may have squeezed under the gate.

Family have contacted the DW, Police, Leigh Cats & Dog's Home, local RSPCA and vets. Posters have been getting put up in the area and smaller ones posted door to door. He should also be going in the local free paper tomorrow with a photo.

I've given owner further advice of things to do and alerted them to the email to read through. Keeping everything crossed he has been picked up and we will see him back home soon. x

Thanks Ashmark I was uploading the photo and updating the details as you must have been sending the text, owner was having problems with the photo due to the size.

Myself of a NW Co-ordinator will contact family a.s.a.p. to offer help and advice.

Info/Advice email has been sent to registered email. x

Sorry to see that MAX is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (36517)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
