- I'm so very sorry to hear of your loss. Sadie knows she was loved and is looking down on you now. She'll always be with you - you've not lost her - you've just gone your separate ways for a while. She'll meet up with you when the time is right but meanwhile she's still there in your hearts. Take care - rest in peace darling. xx

- such heart breaking words from sadies owners.
sadies light will never go out, she will always be shining bright waiting to meet you again... my heart goes out to you at this tragic time - 2012-01-30 23:28 Doglover
- This is so sad..... please please don't blame yourselves. We lost our first dog, Marble, when my son attached his lead to his tag ring instead of his collar ring in error and he pulled away, breaking the ring and he ran off and was involved in an RTA (in front of our eyes). My son blamed himself too but after a lot of love and support he now smiles and remembers Marble as a fantastic dog who knew we loved him so much. Accidents happen, dogs run off (all the time) and sadly there is nothing we can do apart from prey they will be ok when something like this happens. Be brave and remember the good times with her. My heart goes out to you because I REALLY REALLY know how you feel. x

THE RAINBOW BRIDGE POEM
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

- Thankyou all for your kind messages. 12yrs ago we put a security light facing the back door we told her was "Sadies's light" which came on the second she stepped out the back door so she could see at night in the garden & she learned where to stand to keep putting it on each time it went out as she didn't like it off. THEN last week after all this time it suddenly stopped working & we couldn't get it going it kept blowing the fuse. So the warning was there when her light stopped working. We just couldn't believe it. And she didn't like going out in the garden without it on. Intended to fix it this week. RIP our beloved Sadie. Life will never be the same for us without you.Last edited: 2012-01-30 21:08:00 by jterry

- I'm so terribly sorry that Sadies life with you ended the way it did, please try, as others have said, not to blame yourselves however hard that may be. Sadie had over 12 good years with you, think of that when you think of her. Hugs to you all. xx

- I would like to echo janiejewel1649's comments. Your son really musn't blame himself for this tragic accident. Sadie was obviously more to you than just a pet and this is how all of us here on doglost feel about our dogs. I lost my darling Ozzie just over 2 months ago and it is still very hard. You will have good and bad days, but the pain will ease in time, believe me. We will NEVER forget them and I truly believe Ozzie isn't far away - we had a "sign" the night he died and I don't normally believe in stuff like that. I found talking to people who have also suffered the loss of a pet greatly helped me. Sending you all a big hug xx

- jterery. Am so sorry for your loss, but please dont blame yourself, these things happen and I do know you must be heartbroken by the death of her. She has not gone from you forever and one day you will see her again, and her tail wont stop wagging. She is only a whisper away and will never leave you. Remember all the years you gave her and all the affection Sadie gave you in return. Perhaps you could have a little "Funeral service" for her. This may help your grief at this sad time. I have two friends who often see their departed happily playing in spirit. I also have had experiences such as these. And you never know you also might get a sign from Sadie. Remember you gave Sadie a good life, and you did not let her down, neither did your son, it was just a tragic accident. Sending you loads of comforting hugs and absent healing for your grief. Night, night, sleep tight sadie, and look over your family who really n eed your strength at this time. Sadie is only a whisper away. Until you meet again (And you will)_ God Bl.essxxxxxxxxxx

- Would like to give a big THANKYOU to Dogslost as the information on the site enabled us to be contacted with the sad news of our beloved SADIE. We may still have been wondering? It's like a normal family death to us as she was so loved.

- We are totally devastated to learn this morning that our DEAR SADIE was in a RTA at 8pm Saturday night -less than 2hrs after losing her. She gave us so much love for 12yrs11mths & didn't deserve to end her life this way. We feel we've let her down but she knows how much we all loved her. My son whom she was with at the time she ran off had to come home from work as he was too upset. Will take a long time to get over her if we ever do! RIP SADIE will think of you & love you forever! xxxx Mummy Daddy Martin Michael & Daddy Andy. Thankyou for coming into our lives - WE'LL NEVER FORGET YOU. xxx

- Just a thought, but if her owners are reading this and are local, can you leave a gate or door open somewhere at your property incase she makes her way back home during the night? Or you could just try leaving her bed or an old jumper with your scent on outside....

- This is literally down the road from me. If picked up she could have been taken to Stokenchurch Dog Rescue or Maccabee at Longwick. Too late to ring owners now, but will give them a call tomorrow if she's still missing x
