This dog was rehomed without owner consent by a local person. Owner never got Kimso back.Thw dog was traced but new owner refused to give the dog back. She genuinely loved the dog and was innocent in the whole thing.Last edited: 2018-02-11 07:32:17 by Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland

Data protection act is not applicable in legal cases - can't the microchip company act?

Sable - can u say HOW you know that the dog had passed thru' the rescue's hands?
Can u update us on what's happening?

and can you put this dog up the the top - it clearly needs publicity if u r to find where the dog is.
Lastly, is there anything I can do to help? I'm in the midlands, but feel very strongly about this and would like to help, if the owner is not able to finance, then can you set up a fund to gain money towards a court fight?

Now this is awful.
Poor owners, BAD RESCUE.
Much publicity needed here - local publicity, - I'd really go to town on all local papers within a 30 + mile radius.
Expose this rescue - it's not rescuing or doing anything towards rehoming.
Their very existance SHOULD be to look after dogs, and this should OBVIOUSLY start with trying to find their real owners by scanning.
MAYBE ITS JUST EASIER TO SELL SUCH AN APPEALING DOG - QUICK MONEY, QUICK TURNOVER ON STOCK EH! ?

They messed up big time, now they must put it to rights by getting the dog back.

I loathe this sueing society, but in THIS CASE - I am prepared to donate towards a legal fight for the rightful owner to get its dog back by taking this bloody rescue to court. Set up an account and a donation will be on its way from me.
What a joke for all the campaigns that are doing their best to get dogs chipped AND to get vets to scan.
If a rescue fails to scan - its not doing its job.

For goodness sake - let the advertisin really reach out, so the dog is so hot that someone spots where it is and makes a phone call to the rightful owner.

Expose and name this rescue, or dog sales business, whatever it is.

I don't think these lot had a scanner, but they are leaving themselves wide open if they do not follow legislation. This is how dogs go missing and are never found again, when they are re-homed by people doing this, but, calling themselves a re-homing centre.Last edited: 2012-02-05 18:57:12 by Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland

This makes me so mad. If the chip showed up then why did the re-homing centre not find it. It is about time we had a law protecting our dogs from inappropriate rehoming. I bet they did not have a scanner. If she were mine I would be in court before anyones feet hit the ground. I do wish you luck and hope that she is rightly returned to the owner. This must be heartbreaking for them.

Have been in regular contact with owner and we are hoping that listing Kimso on doglost and Lostdogs-Scotland will help to bring forward the person who has the dog.

Sorry to see that KIMSO is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (36776)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
