- Thanks for update, it's great to know the outcome.
Bob is sadly still missing ID 36354 and I am not sure about Charlie ID 36359 as no update there. - 2012-02-10 23:09 NB
- One very tired, warm and happy dog and two ecstatic owners back at home at last. MANY cuddles. Thank you for the welcome home messages, it means a lot.
A lesson has very definitely been learned. I had got complacent and have been taught in the strongest possible way that she will always have the potential to bolt, however relaxed and comfortable she has become with me.
Mazey is not going anywhere unfamiliar without harness and long line again.
She has sore paws and very worn nails (don't think she stopped running whilst she was on her own) but thankfully no other injuries. Am taking her to vets for check up tomorrow.
We eventually found her after hearing from local residents that she had been hanging around the Totterdown area all day. After walking the streets, we realised she'd probably gone to the neighbouring Arnos Vale Cemetery as it's quiet and the woods and glades there are the sort of landscape she is familiar with. We ended up walking less than 50m into the Cemetery calling her before she magically appeared from behind a bush. Bliss :)
We met with a lot of goodwill from the public and shopkeepers whilst searching in Bristol. Also, worth noting that Taxi firms were very happy to pass on details of the missing dog to their drivers to keep an eye out for.
Like many relieved owners I'm sure, I am now a BIG fan of this site and will be finding out how we can support other owners to find their dogs in the future.
Thanks again to everyone who's taken an interest. My thoughts are with those dogs and owners separated right now.
With love
Nicola (and Tom and Mazey too!)

- Just been talking to a very relieved owner, Mazey is on her way home now in the back of the car. I will allow them to update more later, welcome back Mazey, I think you may be getting a harness and long line for the times you are in unfamiliar places!!!
