Bit of a long shot but the ad makes me suspicious http://m.preloved.co.uk/m/showadvert/111092016/schnauzer-bitch.html

One in on the Wirral council site - http://wirral.gov.uk/wirraldogs/Detail.asp?DogsID=8406
I am not sure if it's a guess that they are saying 6 yrs or whether chipped and something wrong with chip/contact info? Usually it would say chipped. Might be worth a call if you think this one may look like your dog?
Charlie.D
We did make some calls into the bitch for sale but had already been sold on. No other news. Thankyou for all your help.

We havent heard anything, i havent recieved the group poster, would you be able to re-send it to charlie.dimech@btinternet.com We will do another round of putting up posters and will consider a search but she was such a freindly dog which is why i think if she was living rough, then she would make herself known. Thankyou xx

Charlie, how's it going? Maybe do another search a bit further out. Dogs do live rough for many months sometimes. They really are amazing. Be well worth another search. x

Group picture being sent to owner. x

We have seen that and have had pictures of the dog sent to us and it is deffinately not Ruby as she has a docked tail and has had puppies. She has now been re-homed as she is not chipped and no owner has been found.

Have you been on The uk missing pet register ,grey female schnauzer found, 21st march in Hertfordshire
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
We're doing a poster of all missing dogs in your area and it includes Ruby. Please contact other owners and you can all work together to print copies of a poster with all your dogs on and distribute at Fairs - Brentwood on 11th/12th May and any others around the area. Also, please watch out for Pig from 37912 who may be around here, Wayne, Tia, Molly, Pip, and all dogs from CM, SS postcodes. Together you are stronger and bigger. x
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
CharlieD, she is so small and many dogs do survive like that for many months. Please keep trying - she may have moved away from this area, so maybe go further outwards and try. She could have got in a panic when lost and ran and got herself more lost. It really is possible. These are hardy little dogs too. If anyone can can maybe check further out - every nook and cranny, that would be great. Thank you, everyone. x

No luck. There are no signs that she could be living in the wild but you can never be certain.
dawny
Any luck with the search yesterday?

Good luck for tomorrow I am also working so will not be able to join you but I have been keeping my eyes peeled along the A131 daily.

Everyone going on the search party - remember Ruby is small so could be hiding under twigs, or made a little bed of straw or grass; any tiny ditches - check every single inch if you can. Remember also, that she has been surviving wild, so may well run off but do not chase, coax with food. If need be, just leave food for her where she think she may be and she'll keep returning. Look for remains of any wildlife that could have been her catching food, possibly rats etc. Take it easy if you see her. Slowy does it. By all means call her name, but remember she may not realise its you at first and leg it. Give her time to process her thoughts, she may even follow you and watch from a hiding place. She may be living away from the centre but could come back in if people drop litter/ food etc. I think she could well be out there somewhere. We need to find her. Have requested alerts for helpers in area. Let's get Ruby home.x

Could owners please check out an ad placed today on Animalsearch UK. Dog found last week in SG area. Taken to pound but no owner found yet. says no chip but it may not be read. Worth a check though.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
We believe it is very possible that Ruby is still on the lose in the area so owners are organising a search party on Saturday. They would be very grateful for any helpers who could go along. As we know dogs can survive amazingly well in the wild and as no one has seen Ruby and we've had nothing to say otherwise, she could really still be in this area, surviving on rats or mice etc. Because owners were away went she was lost, she may have gone into hiding not knowing what else to do. PLEASE, if you can help contact owner to offer your support. More posters going up in that area or renewing them would also be great. We need to search every nook and cranny - we need to find precious Ruby. Many thanks. xxx

DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
If Ruby has been taken, she could be one of the many disappearing from this part of the UK, so I am asking for anyone living outside the area, preferably along the A414, M11, A14, Chelmsford to Norfolk route, to please poster farms and kennels in your area. Ruby may simply have been taken in by someone who has not reported her, but I want to cover all our bases. If you know someone who lives along this route, please ask them to share Ruby by postering or twitter or FB. We are doing the same for Jackson and Pip. Thank you. x

Come on Ruby, where are sweetie? x
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Charlie D, maybe worth trying to contact other owners who have lost their dog in this area or close by. Together you are stronger. It may be worth approaching the police together to see what they can do? If a lot of dogs go missing from one area, they should investigate, however, they always say they need evidence. But, too many dogs, should ring alarm bells with them. Also, think about the local papers - joining forces and going together. This can have fantastic results. She is chipped so there's always a chance her chip will bring her home. x
Charlie.D
Thankyou Riverlady. There is still no news on her.

Still tweeting + have added #A414 #Hertfordshire.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Well done CharlieD. It is also very nice to have a good dog warden - thank you dog warden. Riverlady, thank you - yes Essex. Maybe an idea to try Hertfordshire too, if possible? A414 runs through from there. We have had dogs come back many months later and as Ruby is chipped, it is always possible her chip will bring her home.x
Charlie.D
Thankyou Kim. We will try and poster as many local pubs and resturants as we can and go to our local shopping centre. We will ask local schools if they would be willing to put up posters and will try and contact the local radio stations. I am emailing people the poster on a larger radius as the dog warden has been very helpful and given us many email addresses to contact. Also thankyou Riverlady, your help is much appreciated. #Essex.
DogLostRiverlady
Have put Ruby on twitter with #BridgeEnd #WalthamsCross as placenames......is it #Essex?
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
CharlieD, I think you need a full scale campaign now. Can you get posters in all the pubs in say a 10 mile radius. Can you poster outside all traveller sites, same radius. Poster all the parks, go in the schools and speak to staff about giving mini poster leaflets to the kids or get them up in the school somewhere (which can be very good), you need to get Ruby in the media too. Please try the radio stations (even if they say no, try again. Get together with any other missing dogs from similar area - together you are stronger. Media will act more. Please don't give up, there's a lot you can still do. You have done so well, but please keep going. You just never know what the catalyst will be, okay? x
Charlie.D
No news. We think someone has her aswell. Yes you ccan fb and twitter if thats okay? thankyou for all your help x
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
No news on Ruby yet. This is really odd, so I would suspect someone has her. Think we really need to get her details out far and wide now. Can we facebook and twitter Ruby please? Thank you. x

praying for news for you - I have a soft spot for schnauzers xxxx
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Kris, thank you. I am putting Charlie's number on poster now, just to be sure we have the right contact. I'm thinking the sites, or moved around the sites. Could be completely wrong of course, but worth a try if possible to check.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Thanks C. Did you received my e-mails that I sent when Ruby first went missing? If not I can re send? Same e-mail addy? Do everything in that e-mail, over and over if necessary. One other thought, she wouldn't go down any holes would she?
Charlie.D
The mobile number is my dads but he cannot recieve texts at work. My mobile number is 07540279497. We have contacted the local paper and we will put an ad in next week. We will contact the cleansing dept and high way agency. We intend to contact the local officers in the area. Thankyou kim. Thankyou Kris for contacting the police and runners for us, its much appreciated, as you can imagine we are devistated.
kris
please also check the mobile number on the poster - as it was incorrect when I checked it.
kris
my mate works in a local police station. they are all dog lovers and circulate info around when dogs are missing. they also go to traveller sites regulary and have often retrieved stolen dogs - they scan them as standard practise. This dogs info will be all around essex now - and will also be mentioned to herts. There are no railway lines local to this park - but very busy and fast main roads. still think this girl was lifted. havent heard from the run organisers - will chase them up later on in the week x

You have all done so very well. Bless you all. It is times like this when the kind people emerge. Thank you for for being such fantastic human beings! CharlieD, I am so glad you are home! If she hasn't got back to you, it is usually down to one of two reasons - 1) someone has her 2) she cannot get back for some other reason. Think of all the things that could be stopping her. Have you combed the area for drains, man holes/covers missing, water areas, brambles to get stuck in, that sort of thing. We had a dog last week stuck down a water drain in a field. With all the drain covers being stolen for metal it needs a thought. Is there a railway line within a few miles? I hope not, but this needs to be checked. Too many of our babies on the rail tracks recently. If this is a possibility, please text me and I will tell you what to do. Have you checked the Cleansing dept of the council? The Highways Agencies for the main roads? None of these utilities scan dogs. Tell all the Vets, take posters in personally. Check along any ditches or roadsides near the area. Do you have travellers sites? Poster there heavily. And, heed my words "no dog produced, no money given". If they don't produce her, they don't have her, if they call. How about a sniffer dog - no guarantees - but you could try contacting someone we now have in Kelvedon/Messing way. I can give you the number via text, but I'm not sure how long scents last. Kris, you mentioned Essex police, can they help with any "sites". If so, please let me know, thanks. CharlieD I think you should try contacting the papers, the radio, whatever you can; they won't all help, but some may. Worth a try. Get an advert in local paper. Let us know so we can bump Ruby's page when its in. I am going to text you tonight. Miracles do happen on this site, so keep hope alive! Come on Ruby precious, where are you? Could well be that someone has picked her up and decided to keep her, so we need to make that impossible! Make Ruby so famous, the whole world know she's missing. You CAN do it. x
Charlie.D
We dont think she is still at the discovery centre otherwise she would have made herself known to someone as she is a very friendly dog. We are going to contact kim tonight and also going to give out posters at our local dog training classes making them aware. Thanks for all your help, i do hope we get her back, Jet is not himself without her.
dawny
Hi Charlie.D, we were actually thinking Ruby could have been taken, but if that is the case then we must poster everywhere, making her to hot to handle. there haven't been any sightings of her, we have walked a few miles, asked lots of dog walkers and walkers etc, but nothing, people are aware of her, i did re-poster the park but again they were taken down, im hoping it was kids, bored during the half term hols. if you are thinking of organising a search let me know, otherwise im at a loss of what to do next, has Kimmybear been in touch? lets get the lovely Ruby home x
Charlie.D
Hi everyone. I am one of rubys owners. I arrived back in the country this morning. We are all extremely grateful for all your help. We couldn't of asked for anything more. We are going to put more posters up in the great Notley area today but when reading the comments about the posters being taken down makes wonder if someone has taken her. We were wandering if you had any more ideas on what we could do. Thankyou, much appreciated.
dawny
Fantastic, i will poster the dunmow side of rayne cafe, thats where the travellers site is, i will check tescos as well, hopefully the sitter has been up there, i think they live near by, come on ruby time to come home x
kris
will be circulated all around essex police in the morning x
kris
no sightings aint good :( we cant search unless we know where she is - she could be anywhere - the running club have put it on their website and will ask all the volunteers on monday at their meeting. They will feed any info back to me. I think the owner is back mon or tues. I am also seeing a police contact this afternoon - dog lover - and will ask that the info is circulated. dont know what else to do at the mo. I did rayne cafe back towards the park, everyone at the football and the shop had already been done. P'haps when the owner gets back they can contact local papers etc etc Has anyone got a poster up at tescos?
Lets just hope someone claims the reward - sometimes that is the way they get back. x
dawny
Excellent Kris. just spent 2 hours walking around the discovery centre, asking dog walkers etc, no one has seen her. do you think we should poster out towards Great Leighs and beyond, there have been no sightings of her. we left posters with our friends who live just past rayne station cafe, there is a travellers sight further down, i will go down that way tomorrow poster up near there. Do we know when rubys owner gets back?Last edited: 2012-02-19 14:19:36 by dawny
kris
think I have found the group that organised the run - have sent them an email to see if anyone saw anything
kris
spent this morning up and down the rayne way handing out tel numbers etc. No sightings by any walkers, runners, cyclists etc - we need to make this girl too hot to handle. Also called into pet shop on A120 to advise them. Has anyone contacted the organisers or that fun run that was in progress in the park sunday? they had loads of people around the park and on the car park - perhaps someone saw someone carying or walking a small dog back to the carpark or out of the park????
kris
the rangers are actively looking - but no sightings around the park.
dawny
My hubby will drive to the cafe at rayne station tomorrow to leave a poster and ask a few dog walkers if she has been seen.
kris
a sighting would be good - it gives you a starting point. I am concerned as the park was very very busy sun with loads of people out to do a fun run. I do hope she wasnt picked up.
dawny
Unfortunately i have to work sat til 5, but i am free all day sunday, if you go on sat please let me know how it goes. i will definately go up the centre on sunday pm with my hubby and our 2 dogs, will see if i can get some smaller flyers printed off to give out.
kris
are you out sat am to search? can see if I can rustle up some people if you are. best way is to agree a time to meet at the discover centre and then spread out in different areas. posters are maybe too big to give out to walkers - we could just print slips with the info and number on? I am free first thing - to lunchLast edited: 2012-02-17 10:25:36 by kris

Hi Kimmybear, I put posters up over the park yesterday, went thru there today and they have all been taken down, very strange, could be kids, but i will re-poster tomorrow. i can poster rayne station cafe at the weekend, rayne station no longer in use and is part of the flitch way walk, it goes from braintree to bishops stortford, luckily the train line is over the other side of town to where ruby went missing. If anyone has any ideas on organising a search, let me know xLast edited: 2012-02-16 19:12:19 by dawny

Thank you everyone - I know Ruby's owner is very grateful to you all. As he cannot do anything himself yet as he is not yet in the country and sitter does not seem to be on computer, please can you put up some posters for Ruby? I don't know how the postering's working out there. I am concerned that she may have been picked up so we need to make her way too hot to handle. Please tell me there's no railway lines anywhere near? Do you know if she knew this area very well, or could she simply have got herself lost? They usually find their way back to that spot eventually and something of owner's needs to be left there to keep her there. Anything that smells of him or home. Something he won't miss if it disappears. Can that be done? This area brings to mind, Molly, the spaniel. Reunited CM13, I think it was. Travellers brought her back after a massive campaign by owner. Let's get Ruby home! x
kris
will try to get out tommorrow and have circulated amongst other greyhound owners in area. May be worth dropping a poster in Rayne station cafe if anyone can - a lot of dog walkers go through there. kris

I live in the same village as Ruby and her owners and know the family, have been on a long walk today from our village to where Ruby went missing just incase she may have been trying to find her way home, (but sadly nothing seen or found) infact my dog Rafa and Ruby always get on so well when we see them in the village and her brother Jet gets very jealous which we have always found quite funny! Ruby is a lovely, friendly, playful dog and I do hope she is found very soon but as time goes on I can't help but get more concerned but will keep on looking and keep everything crossed for her safe return! I also know that there are lots of people aware and everyone is being very kind and keeping a look out!

Have sent on to family nearer this area than me, but will also send to Schnauzer owning friends who may have contacts around here. Only sorry I'm too far away to help. I have two female minis myself. Hoping Ruby will be found safe and very soon. Thank goodness she is microchipped.

I drive from braintree to chelmsford each day along the dual carriage way and kept my eyes peeled last night and this morning will continue to do so. I work long hours but could help search on sunday if not found by then which hopefully she will be. Do we know what area of braintree she lives could she trying to make her way home.
