Piper was found by one of the liveries on the yard this morning and seems none the worse for wear. Thanks everyone for your help. Im certain without you she would have been a dead dog.

That's great Gilli, you are gaining her confidence.
Gilli
bait was taken overnight and the tub with a block of it in found with toothmarks. Piper was sighted this afternoon headed towards the bait area She veered off when she saw the girl but not visibly spooked and its the first time she has been seen so close to the stables in full daylight rather than at daybreak. Fingers crossed.
Gilli
As yet the bait hasnt been touched but Piper only appeared early morning yesterday so Im assuming this could be the case again as it would be sensible that she would want to make absolutely sure the yard was clear before approaching.
Last sighting was a few hundred yards away from the yard in next doors field where she was spooked by a dog walkers dogs at approx 5pm to half past 5 No sign since but hoping that she simply went to ground till the coast was clear and keeping fingers crossed she is back in the morning

I have now spoken to Gilli and they are doing a fantastic job in their search for Piper. Piper is staying local to where she was lost, there have been numerous sightings of her already. There are 3 farms in the area and she has been seen visiting at least one of the yards. Feeding stations have been set up in all 3 yards and barn areas. One of the farmers already has a trap set up for foxes and has agreed to keep a very close eye on it at all times in case Piper sets it off. Gilli is experienced and knows what to do and how to behave if she is seen.

There have been a couple of local people who have tried to catch Piper but she is very very nervous. I have updated the poster and sent various sizes to Gilli warning people not to approach or try to catch Piper, but to contact them asap with any sightings.

I will contact Owl to see if she can offer Gilli any further advice.Last edited: 2012-02-19 19:16:59 by Jackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester

Thought it might be a long shot, worth a try though. Have been waiting with baited breath til it was checked out. Good luck in catching this nervous dog, poor wee soul.

Police and dog warden have been contacted and this poster is doing the rounds on facebook. Hopefully will just be a matter ot time

no fifilador its a different dog. Came over from Ireland this week.
Piper is hanging around the fields at the back of Longton Equestrian centre and surrounding yards (between chapel lane and the sports field) Its looking likely she will remain in that area unless pushed away so I would appreciate if people DO NOT search around there as she will NOT come to you as she is far too nervous and it will mean that she will move away from the area. The three horse yards that back on together are all leaving areas baited for her so that hopefully she will get used to scavenging there for food and someone may be able to shut the door while she is in there. Also one yard has fox traps already and will let me know if they catch her.
Any posters put up would be appreciated and any sightings that people could phone me aboiut also but please do not all go out searching in the area as she will go to ground and / or move awat.

Thanks
