Just want to send you a little hug from us all, including our working cocker Harley. Your description of Cocoa is EXACTLY how we describe our young man and he is often mistaken for a young setter. He too is very friendly and would go off with anyone so your worries that Cocoa had gone off with someone were completely reasonable. I'm sure Cocoa had a lovely 6 years with you. XX

We are sad to say that Cocoa has died. Her body was found by a dogwalker on 5th April. We are so grateful we have her body back and have been able to bury her today. The early sightings proved false and she had never been stolen. The anguish we have suffered thinking she may be suffering cruelty was thankfully not based on fact. We have had incredible support from Lostdogs -Scotland and complete strangers who have spent hours looking for her, physically, on face book, delivering 800 leaflets, etc.. She was a special dog who touched many peoples lives, we miss her greatly but know she did not suffer cruelty or loneliness. the support we have been given over the past 6 weeks has been a strength and comfort. Thank youLast edited: 2012-04-08 08:34:18 by Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland

Owner's note:
Thanks to leaflet distribution, we have a witness sighting of Cocoa approx 3 hours after theft, afternoon of 24 Feb approx 4pm. Brown Working Cocker Spaniel, presumed Cocoa, was being led by a thick set, overweight, white man heading away from Forres Post Office towards Grantown Road mini roundabout. He had the dog on two leads - one normal and one RIGID LEAD i.e. metal bar, as used by dog catchers / warden for vicious dogs. The witness (another dog owner) took special notice as it is so rare to see anyone with a rigid lead, he could not understand why a Spaniel would need such a control.
Does anyone know of any person in the Forres area who owns a rigid lead? This must be very rare. Please contact if anyone has information.
