Wooooooooooooooo! I'm so so pleased to be moving this gorgeous girl to the blue - I'm sat here crying my eyes out! Well done to you both you've done a fantastic job. With the determination you went about finding her with it was only a matter of time before she was home. xxx

Donation made :) Thank you all once again!!

WE HAVE SHADOW BACK! Alex got a call from a woman in Arbury saying that she thinks the bought our dog. She paid £200 for her. Alex went to this woman's flat to see if it is her, and apparently Shadow leaped onto Alex wanting hugs, and without Alex saying anything the woman said "That's her isn't it.. She hasn't been like that with any of us". The woman was really upset because after a week you can get quite attached - especially to a dog like Shadow! Alex gave her some money and we have her :) She seems so happy to be with us again :D

We'd both like to say thank you for all of your help! Thanks for all the support and effort you lot have gone to just to help us. We are going to donate some money to DogLost for being such a fantastic site full of helpful, friendly people. We both hope that none of you have to go through what we have been through this week, and to anyone that's reading this that has lost their dog - Stay positive and don't stop searching! In our case posters were the winner for us.

I start maternity leave in June, so when it's September I am going to request that posters of local, lost dogs get sent to me so I can do my bit. I'd love to help anyone else!

Once again, thank you so much guys - Words can't explain how happy and relieved we are.

You are all stars.

Alex, Georgie.. and Shadow :D

The report this button is so easy to hit by mistake so don't worry it happens all the time. I have emailed admin to see if they can "un-report" it.

I hope we get some good news on Shadow soon!
shadow81
Thank you so much for letting me know. I have been in contact with them, and in many many ways this one fits Shadows description, and Oxclose Lane police have been absolutely fantastic and lovely. They sent me a few photos, but I cannot be certain either way. They are unable to take the chance to see if this one has the flashes on her neck that Shadow has, because this one is a little jumpy which is fair enough.

They are going to leave detailed notes for the dog warden, and if we still cant be certain once the dog warden has taken over, I will drive up to Nottingham to be sure either way.

I cant thank you enough for pointing this out to me, and I cant thank Oxclose Police enough for being so wonderful about it. Fingers crossed, but will keep looking and doing what I can whilst I wait for some feedback on this one.

Apologies, I am on my phone and accidentally clicked 'report this' on a comment.. This was not intentional... Sorry!Last edited: 2012-03-01 23:13:39 by shadow81

There has been a female rotti found in Nottingham.

Hi Alison, postering around work is proving very difficult. Ive been making up my own posters to be more descriptive etc... including DogLost's phone number and reference though, but only managed to print 10 before my printer ran out of ink!

I have strategically placed these around areas I would consider hotspots local to me because of the small amount I had - but I need to get a load photocopied when I get a chance. I will be getting hundreds - literally!
Barney 'n' Ozzie's mum
Really sorry the Epping rottie wasn't her. Have you put up lots of posters? - that really is the key to getting her back. You need to make her "too hot to handle", so get up hundreds of posters if you can. Local sorting office would be a good start, also taxi firms, local schools and bin men. Good luck xLast edited: 2012-03-02 08:54:30 by Angus

Harry the Westie is home, so lets hope Shadow soon follows.
shadow81
Thank you Alison, her personality is as gorgeous as her. Yes, we lost 2 dogs last year (a greyhound, and Shadows best friend, a Saluki) - one to old age (14 - not bad for an rescued retired greyhound) - and the other to bone cancer aged 7 (only 6 months apart).

Shadow is all we have left from the trio. I have received a call regarding the Epping rottie - she is apparently only around 6 months old... so unfortunately she cant be Shadow.
Barney 'n' Ozzie's mum
Hi Alex. Shadow looks absolutely gorgeous! Our rottie boy, Ozzie, passed away in November and has left a massive hole in our family, so I understand how much you must be missing Shadow right now. Hope you get some good news soon. Alison x
shadow81
Hi, yes I have Barney 'n' Ozzie's mum. I have rang the number listed, and also Epping Forest District Council's dog warden and given details, hopefully they will both contact me to confirm whether or not that is her.

Thank you Lankeela, I know exactly where you mean, and will be sure to poster there - working hours are making it very difficult for me to actually poster. I am hoping to get a large amount of posters printed out and laminated today and with the help of my Fiancee and her friend we are hopefully going to have some good coverage tonight.

Fingers crossed we get some response to these - she is very very missed :(
Barney 'n' Ozzie's mum
Have you seen the female rottie on the found page? (37504). Says found Epping Forest, but gives E4 postcode, which I think must be wrong??
Lankeela
My sister says there is a travellers site near the A14 at Milton and they have a lot of animals wandering round. Might be worth postering round there.
shadow81
Hi it's Shadow's mum. We have just been round Arbury/Orchard Park and saw a man riding a bike with a dog running on a lead along him. This dog looked like a Rottweiler, was the same size as Shadow (it's quite hard to see this time in the evening), ran a lot like how shadow runs and the bottoms of the dogs legs were tan like a Rotties. This man was riding along the guided bus route heading the way you'd go to get to Histon way. We went passed him in the car quite far away, parked up, got out and started walking towards him. Oddly, he turned round on his bike and went the other way (CRC way) but by the time we ran back to the car we had lost him. This was around 6:20 this evening.

If you live in/go past this area, please keep a look out for us and please get in touch, even if you're not sure.

Thank you for your help.

I have alerted the Cambridgeshire co-ordinator to Shadow and she will be contacting Shadow's owner as soon as she can to offer advice.

hi Alex. Fingers crossed she's home soon. If you think someone may have taken her it's even more important you poster EVERYWHERE to make her too hot to handle. Not just out and about but through people's letter boxes too. I'm too far away to help with a search but my prayers and thoughts are with you. X
shadow81
Hi, it's Alex again.. I forgot to mention that I am willing to put up a substantial cash reward for her safe return - much more than her market value.
shadow81
Hi, I am Alex - the owner of Shadow.

Her collar is black leather and her tail is full (not docked). Distinguishing marks she has are on each side of her neck, she has a couple of small silvery patches in her fur, but you have to get quite close to actually spot these.

The site she was tangled in was our next door neighbours garden, the side of which leads directly onto the park. At first the dog warden mis-informed us of this, and said she was tied up at the actual park entrance. However, this morning when we were looking closer, we noticed that the long red plastic coated lead that was attached to a metal ground-stake was actually tangled around a tree, which meant that she was actually securely in his garden while she was there, but someone has disconnected the lead from her collar, allowing her to get out - we are assuming that whoever did this took her - she does not like to stray too far!

She loses weight very fast if she is not fed on quality food. We have her on a special weight maintenance diet. She IS microchipped, but I have not informed the identichip as of yet - I did not think there was anything they could do.

I have telephoned Wood Green, I dont know of any other animal shelters in the region. I have a crime reference number - but not on me at the moment. I have telephoned the nearest vets, but intend to phone all of the vets I can find and inform them.

She was gone about an hour before I got home to realise. As soon as I got home I went outside to check on her, noticed she wasnt there, shouted around and whistled, nothing - so I rang the dog warden, who advised they had received calls advising what I originally stated, but they did not attend as the reports said she was tied up.

If there is anything I have forgotten to add please advise and I will provide any info I can.

I would like to thank the person who put this up here for me! I really appreciate the effort and consideration. I would also like to thank everyone who views and comments on this - and to anyone else involved.

Fingers crossed! I am devestated!Last edited: 2012-02-25 21:44:36 by shadow81

TAKEN FROM ANOTHER SITE:

Our Rottweiler has escaped from our back garden of our home on Elizabeth Way. She went into our next door neighbours garden, got tangled up and someone let her off her tangled lead from the Elizabeth Way Park. There were reports that she was at that location at around half 2 - half 3. We have phoned the police and the dog warden and there were quite a few reports of her being seen caught around this fence and being distressed. Although it was reported, the dog warden didnt chase this up and she was gone by the time we received this information. We have phoned the police, dog warden, council, RSPCA and local vets but we have received no more information. She is a small, friendly Rottweiler. If you hear/see anything, please contact Alex - 07921861204

She is called Shadow. Will email pics in.x
Angel
I'm a bit confused. Did you go to where she was sighted tangled in the fence and there was no sign of her or haven't you been there?
