rubys_mum
Similar looking dog spotted on his own at 23:00 last night in Luton, Bedfordshire.. I posted the sighting on here (see id 43040) as I couldn't see any 'locally' that we're missing. Might be a longshot but you just never know x
Barney 'n' Ozzie's mum
There's a GSD on today's found page (41159) described as "ginger". A bit far away, but you never know!!

just to clarify the contractors that secured axel and promised to wait were contractors to sainsburys, they were tarmacing the car park.i have tried to contact ealing to find out who they called- they were not very helpful :(Last edited: 2012-03-23 17:43:58 by ha0 busters owner

Thank you stef for your e-mail. i have been at college today. unfortunately the office is now closed but i have left a message. the only informtion i can give is that i telephoned ealing out if hours and whilst i was on the phone she contacted their dog warden who was not prepared to come out as alperton is boarders with brent, she told me she was going to contact brent dog warden as i had advised her that axel was now secure and contractors to sainsburys were happy to wait with him until the dog warden arrived. i assumed it would of been brent that she had contacted. however when buster went missing i had the same problem of which warden to contact and brent did say that they did cover my area- i cant remember the ladys name but she had posted on busters page.i do know that barnet and harrow also cover this area, so this may be where axel is. however a neighbour had lost their dog of recent and he was taken to hertfordshire. i am sorry that i can not be more specific and i wish that i had asked ealing for the number that she contacted. i am still waiting to hear from saimsburys customer care and they do have cctv exactly where i left axel. My assumption that it was brent dog warden that was going to collect axel was from ealing, hence the reason why i posted brent dog warden collecting him on the found page.

Still circulating Axel on twitter.

Axel was lost in Perivale but found in Alperton.
The finder has posted the info on FOUND dog page ID 37769. Finder - ha0 busters owner, said -
"Running around pleasant way, alperton Middlesex HA0.i left him with contractors at sainsbury alperton, they said they would remain with him until the dog warden from brent arrived"
Finder called Ealing Council but DW was not prepared to come out & collect dog as Ealing borders with Brent.
This was approx 8.30 am on Fri 9th March .
Angela ,I will email the finder & ask her to call you.Last edited: 2012-03-22 22:30:47 by Aunt Stef - Area Volunteer, West London

Thanks

Please can i have clarification on What Sainsburys the dog was found. Perivale is NOT in Brent. The neighbouring boroughs to Brent are Camden,Ealing,Harrow,Barnet,Westminster, Hammersmith and Fullham,Kensington and Chelsea, few of these have actual Dog Wardens but use SDK or other contractors. What Time was this dog found?? we have a service from 8am - 4pm, after those hours we have a reception point, a MOP would call the council and given the number for our kennels to take the dog too. What number did the finder of the dog call?? I do believe that my Manager did speak to the dogs owner and inform them that we never recieved a call regarding a stray dog and that we had not picked up a dog fitting that description. Our AWO would have put two and two togeter where some one described the dog as an Alsation or a GSD.More info please
doglady
I have talk to the dog warden for Brent they have had no call from anyone when this dog was reported handed in. Very confusing. Perivale is not covered by Brent is the finder sure that the person he handed the dog to was even dog wardens or any part of the council... The dog warden for Brent puts a lot of dogs on here when found. She is very confused to where the dog was lost from we need to get this clarified. Also if they owner can prove they have been actively looking for the dog even re-homed the dog can be returned. We need to know for sure who the people where the dog was handed to??????????

Has anyone also tried Dogs Trust at Harefield? Or RSPCA Hillingdon?

Thank you unicandy.

If it helps, the general contractors number used by all boroughs is 08444 828 337. Hopefully they would have been the contractors called to collect the dog.

Again.... same as other poster..... well done to Busters owner for caring enough to follow it ! Lets hope Sainsburys can help .... xxx

Well done Busters owner, this must have been so frustrating for you ! Good to see ,at last, Sainsburys are, at least ,helping with this in some way.Lets hope this in itself brings some good news. Thank you for persisting. X
ha0 busters owner
I have had a call from sainsburys customer care literally just now.they wanted to know the exact time and date that I left axel with the contractors.I have informed them that axel has still not returned home and expressed my feeling of frustration and despair that he has not been traceable after leaving him with them.I am hopeful that we will soon find out what happened to him. Fingers crossed that we will see axel home soon :)xx I will update asap

Any updates on this fella ? It would be worth checking Battersea everyday I can imagine. Also did the dog warden actually turn up at the Sainsburys area that day ? Can you talk to the dog wardens boss as such if you arent getting any where. Im not saying they never turned up obviously, as they may have and the dog wasnt there by then. Just so you get some more clarification
Busters owner..... dont feel bad like another poster said you got the boy off the roads and out of immediate danger. .....you did a good thing x

Any news?

Hi natala. This may sound stupid, but is there any way you can check with ha0 busters owner that you have rung the same dog warden service? (check actual phone numbers). Also, ha0 has listed him as an Alsation, so incase they got someone who wasn't a dog-savvy person when they made the call, get them to check their records for German Shepherds AND Alsations! Please bear in mind that dogs can legally be rehomed after 7 days, so you need to do this now. Also, what is the neighbouring council to Brent? Might be worth checking with them too. Find out where the holding kennels are if you can and visit them in person to see if he's there. Good luck! Alison x
DogLostAunt Stef - Area Volunteer, West London
Please don't feel bad Busters owner. You got Axel off the road he was running in & tried to get him to safety. It could be that the contractors just haven't reported him to the council & once they see this dog has a home with very worried owners they are quite likely to make that call.Hopefully the posters will work to get the message out there.
Barney 'n' Ozzie's mum
I agree with natala, it really isn't your fault ha0 busters owner! You did a lot more than some people would and at least we have some idea where he might be, which is more than a lot of owners get. The area really needs to be absolutely blitzed with posters to make as many people aware of him as possible/make him too hot to handle x
natala
it s not your fault, i still have hope that he will back to us, you did everything what you can, thank you for this.
ha0 busters owner
I can't bElieve axEl is not home I have phoned sainsburys to get contractors details however cos of data protection sainsburys will only e mail them with my details I am still the case and yes I have seen the posters it is axel I feel so shit right now I wish I had kept hold of him

Hi natala - make sure you give posters to all the local vets incase he is handed in to one of them. Also let the local sorting office know so that the postmen can keep a look out for him.
DogLostAunt Stef - Area Volunteer, West London
Photo now on for Axel.
natala
yeah, the ha0 buster owner found axel, she left him with contractors , but we don t know what happend later. we leave posters in this area with axel s photo, so maybe someone saw him somewhere. thank you all for helping
Barney 'n' Ozzie's mum
Hi tribalclaire. Yes, we do believe the found dog is the same dog, but he seems to have disappeared!I have sent a text to Axel's owner. If anyone lives in the Alperton area, please keep a look out for him x

I have posted this situation up on Facebook Doglost West London in the hopes this might bring some information on Axel.

I can no longer get through on the number owner has provided. I have sent an email requesting a photo of Axel.
Barney 'n' Ozzie's mum
Really glad to see you're back on the case ha0 busters owner! Sounds as though Axel could have got away from the contractors. I don't like to think badly of people, but perhaps one of them even decided to keep him? Maybe the dog warden needs another call? Wish I was closer so that I could help you.
Natala - have you got a photo of Axel that you can put on here?
ha0 busters owner
if they took him to a police station the local ones are wembley, acton or ealing. however we had a lost dog recently that wasnt picked up by brent but hertfordshire? am so sorry axels owner but i will all i can to help. i am on the case. axel will be home soon im sure xx
ha0 busters owner
I am so upset, yes they were silver bones on the collar so now i am sure it was axel :( i have phoned sainsburys today and i will try again tomorrow to find out who the contractors were (i do remember what they looked like)it may well have been that the dog warden took long(they werent helpful when i phoned) contractor did suggest taking him straight to the police station. i am so sorry i didnt have the time to take him to a local vet i am on my last warning at college and have taken time off to hand in four other dogs in the last two weeks. i will endeavor to find out where axel has gone. am so sorry, l feel so guilty but will all i can to help. axel will be back home soon xx
Barney 'n' Ozzie's mum
Any idea who the contractors are that hao busters owner mentioned and are they definetely the same people that were working there on the day the dog was left? Have you asked Sainsbury's if they have a security camera they can check? Perhaps check with all the local vets aswell just incase someone decided to take him there instead. Perhaps contact hao busters owner too to see if they can identify the person they handed the dog over to?
natala
yes, i spoke with battersea, but he is not there as well, so what to do now.
Barney 'n' Ozzie's mum
Did you ask them who does their out of hours service?
natala
we call to ealing, brent dog warden, and he is not there. we don t know where to looking for him.
natala

Have just spoken to Axel's owner. They have been told to call back on Monday as the council has out of hours officers only. Hopefully this is Axel & owner will collect him after their call to the council on Monday.
