YAY for Cedric... I postered for this chap and am thrilled to be able to take them down in the morning. I am sooooo happy, a great way to end a sunny day. x
Annie
I am absolutely DELIGHTED to hear that Cedric is back home. As Shereen said, it did look all along like he must have been stolen. I know your joy at having him back will override any desire to follow this through by pursuing this dreadful theft through the police to prevent them doing this over and over again?

The man who spotted him deserves a very special thanks for taking the trouble to do what he's done to get hime back!!

You are one gorgeous and lucky boy, Cedric. Have a lovely and safe life!Last edited: 2012-03-28 17:49:42 by Annie

Cedric's mum
We got Cedric back earlier this afternoon, 27th March. Thanks to a very nice man who realised that the person who had him could not have been his real owners and managed to get his microchip read and ultimately get us reunited. Travellers had got him and sold him on, we paid to get him back but at least now he is home and safe. He had not been too badly treated, a little dehydrated and exhausted, otherwise so far so good. My thanks again to the great dog community and the microchip that enabled us to be reunited.

Cedric's mum
Cedric's mum here. Sadly no sight yet of our beloved pet, however, I am so heartened by the extraordinary support, hard work and diligence of everybody out there who is endeavouring to help us and restore our family home back to normal with our faithful Cedric back where he belongs. He is a much-loved part of our home and is sorely missed by our five children. We have searched high and low throughout our neighbourhood and to-date nothing. We firmly believe that he was taken, and therefore not "lost". He is not a wanderer, responds quickly to being called and can only have been enticed away with food! I would like to thank everyone who is doing so much to help, it has completely restored my faith in the human race to know that there are so many people out there who really do care about us and our four-legged friends. Two weeks ago I knew nothing of Doglost and now I can't imagine getting through this without their support. THANK YOU!
Annie
Hello SkyWillow, I'm really sorry to hear about your lovely two Springers having been stolen. Did you by any chance poster the area and beyond? So many people underestimate the power of DogLost posters. Getting photos of your dogs out there to the public via posters and the press so that your dogs become well known does often make them 'too hot to handle' for the thieves and they quite often get dumped again, thus giving them a chance to be found. An equally well publicised phone number to call in case of sighting is of course vital too. Just a thought.Last edited: 2012-03-16 13:33:13 by Annie
SkyWillow
Do you have any other details of when your dog was stolen. my 2 x springer spaniels where stolen on the 20th of feb (sky Willow)from compton RG20 and the same van that stole mine was seen in henley earlier the same day. My friends dogs were then stolen yesterday 2 mile from my house. The police have arrested 1 man but no dogs yet. thanks steve 07776297052
Anne
No sorry - there is a picture after all and it isn't Cedric sadly
Anne
It's a long shot I know but on the found pages there is a whippet cross that has been found in the CV area. I know it's a long way but.......... Has he been checked - there isn't much information

Hi
I am so sorry to read about Cedric and my heart goes out to his owners. Unfortunately it is quite a way from me and I do not know the area well enough to make any suggestions. What I would like to know though, is - why are the police not doing much about it ? My son was stopped recently because one of his break lights was'nt working. Within minutes of stopping him, they knew everything about him almost to the point of what he'd had for breakfast ! Now, I know that vehicles and number registrations have been given to them, yet they still haven't come up with the goods ! Why? Meanwhile these people continue to trawl our communities, stealing our beloved pets, breaking owners hearts and generally reeking havoc and nothing is seemingly being done about it. I'm sorry for being outspoken but fortunately or unfortunatley it is one of my traits ! Could somebody shed some light on this please ? I really do think that we need to start making inroads into this !
Shereen
Have spoken to Cedrics owner today, the police wouldnt give her a CRN number but only an URN number,so have advised they call back and talk to someone else as we all know there has been plenty of activity in this area over the last 1 1/2 years...a dog doesnt go missing without any sighting at all in a community where everyone knows everyone!

Have added a landline number to the poster so another option for anyone who may have any information.

Annie that's a great idea I will also let Nevil the Woking dog warden know & Dogbusters who work with him my heart goes out to Cedric's owners he looks such a lovely whippet I hope he is found soon x
Annie
In view of the likely circumstances, I will also continue to poster somewhat further afield from Cedric's home. It would be really fantastic if there was someone able to poster a little further west to Bobsmum as well, like the Newbury/Reading/Basingstoke triangle? Also, thee Dog Warden Reading Borough Council (Philip.emment@reading.gov.uk)should be informed, unless, of course, the owners have already done so? Let's get this little boy's face out there and help him home... where he belongs!Last edited: 2012-03-14 14:39:06 by Annie

Have been out this afternoon to put up posters of Cedric in Turville, at the entrances to footpaths in Skirmett as well as Hamdleden, and some in-between. I saw no posters or information about Cedric on my travels anywhere, so, even if someone has sighted him, they wouldn't have known who to call! Sadly, lots of owners don't think of that and think microshipping is enough. More posters need to go up though. Have also emailed the poster to Stokenchurch Dog Rescue.

Such a lovely looking boy!Last edited: 2012-03-12 18:39:43 by Annie

So sorry to hear yet another one from Hambleden is missing. It would be useful to know if owners suspect a connection between his disappearance on the 6th and the suspected criminal activity going on in Hambleden reported on Dogwatch? Also, would Cedric come to people if called or is he likely to run?
Will run off some posters try and get out to put them up around Turville, Wormsley and Skirmett later to start with.
