Thank you to everyone! Georgie was found tonight. Somebody had found him on Tuesday minus his tag and they took him home. They left messages for dog warden but never heard from them and tonight they saw a poster and I got my doggy back. Couldn't have done it without all your support. Thank you x

Keep going as you are, posters and more posters, and more sightings will come, it will seem relentless but worth it of course! Make sure you contact the RSPCA Danaher, worth popping in there with posters if possible, stressing about his migrated chip. Good luck.
pookie
Spent all day yesterday walking around town putting up posters and handing out leaflets. Let's hope that they prompt someone's memory. Someone on Marks Farm said the 'Rag and Bone' man was around. Anyone know where he is based?? Come home Georgie!!Last edited: 2012-03-19 14:10:58 by pookie

Pookie, keep going with the posters and handing smaller flyers out. Could be the person who has him is pulling them down as well as the kids, you never know. Have you postered the travellers sites - are there any near you? I suspect someone has picked him up, as Dawny says. I'm glad the railway is far off but yes Dawny, anything like that will help. Thank you. Pookie, perseverence pays off. You are doing really well! x
dawny
You will find him pookie, i put posters up over the skateboard park and they have been taken down, kids have done that when i have put them up before, i find it better to hand them out to people. Let me know if theres anything else i can do.
pookie
Walked for 2 hours tonight along river, stopping anyone I saw but no more sightings. Will put up more posters on other side of town. Upsetting to see some of the posters I put out yesterday have been pulled down:( thanks for everyone's support all wardens in all areas now notified. I will find Georgie!
dawny
Someone could have picked Georgie up, the Fairview is a big estate, and there has only been 1 sighting, has anyone posted the Beckers Green estate, i work with a lady who lives up there and she would be happy to put posters up x
dawny
There is a rail line but it is over the other side of town, it is quite a trek and over busy roads, i do know the very nice ticket man at the station i can go and have a chat and ask if i can leave a poster. I have been checking the river everyday, if there is anything else i can do, please ask x
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Pookie, are you sure he escaped? Could he have been taken? I know there was a sighting, but just want to check? Thanks. x

Just re read my last post, Pookie the chip means Georgie is yours, but we need to make sure, as dog warden said, that others know the chip has moved. If for any reason he should get rehomed, and then they find the original chip, he can still get back to you. But, we don't want him rehomed in the first place, as it could take a while to find your chip. Call Battersea Dogs home, too. Call those other wardens now, if not already done so. They may not work weekends, so you need to chase them up on Monday if you haven't got thru. Re-read my emails and make sure you do everything in them. You CAN get Georgie home! Keep going...... xxx

Well done all of you! Pookie, you need to tell all the vets that too. They should scan all over body, but some don't. But the fact that she is chipped means she is still registered and always will be with you. Have you told the microchip company? Dawny, as you've mentioned river, is there any rail line there? Any water processing works? Someone could well have picked him up and if they couldn't get the dog warden either, they may still have him. Keep getting those posters up Pookie! You can never have too many. You're doing well! x

I walked down the river walk again this afternoon, people are aware of georgie, my daughter friends are all looking out for him, will walk my dogs down there again tomorrow morning, and will take some posters to hand out. please show yourself georgie. xx
pookie
Finally got through to warden. He advised to contact uttlesford and chelmsford dog wardens too. Also he advised I let everyone know that Georgie's chip has moved to front of neck so he needs to be scanned all over to find the chip.

Pookie - you really MUST complain to the council about the warden not returning your calls. If Goergie is in the council pound, or a rescue, after 7 days your dog becomes their property, to sell or worse, and while I don't want to put extra worry on your shoulders - You MUST get the warden to inform you if he has him in his care or has taken him to a pound. Time is ticking away, so posters, and MAKE that Dog Warden give you some answers! Yes, complain to the council about him (his boss) - Many D.W's on this site are wonderful and really help owners find their best friends, but if he's not doing his job and it means you lose ownership...... I wish you all the best - LISTEN and FOLLOW Kimmybears advice - she really knows what she's talking about!
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Pookie, you need to call the council and complain! This is atrocious. Most dog wardens don't work weekends anyway so if you can't get thru tomorrow, then it will even later and what happens if someone finds your dog and cannot tell the warden? This is the law! Someone may have your dog and you won't know without the warden. The council is breaking the law if they are unobtainable. Thank you Charlie.D, we are still praying for Ruby's safe return. x

My dog is currently missing and was told that sometimes leaving his bed and a little food where he was last seen can sometimes bring them home. They recognise the smells and wait there. If you are going to try this, do it as it starts to get dark snd go back first thing in the morning. Hope this helps.

DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Pookie - did you get the dog warden? Remember it is the law to contact a dog warden - if you can't, you complain. Text me if need help. x

Bumping up due to sighting. Pookie, read the e-mails that I sent and do the scenting in this area just to keep him here. They do a triangle so try to watch for that, using the email info I sent you. You can do this! Get those posters up - 100 of them! Dawny, as always thank you! x
pookie
Thank you for all you are doing

Pookie, I have tried to send you emails but I'm having real trouble with my broadband so I'm going to send them to you from work in the morning. You may have got one already, but there another. You need to check railways and travellers, if there is either near by. We have a lot of dogs go missing from your way. Speak to Sarah the dog warden asap. Are you positive Georgie escaped from the garden? Could he have been stolen? If so report this to the police as a CRIME not an incident. If this is possible, you need to target traveller sites with posters and quickly. Don't go alone and poster all around them. If you should get a call saying someone has your dog, do not leave money unless you see your dog. If he is not shown, this person does not have him. No dog, no money. If Georgie got out of the garden himself, and has not been picked up by someone, he should have come home by now. Leave a gate open so he can get back in and leave something that smells of home in the garden for him to come to and lay on. You need to check the Highways Agencies for your area and the local Cleansing dept of the council just in case they have seen him. If he has met with an accident, the vets should scan but the council and highways do not. Neither does the railway - they don't even report them mostly. Someone may have picked him up for the night and if they see a poster they will know who to call! Good luck and you'll have my emails in the morning, but get those posters up now - VERY important! The most important thing you can do right now. x
