Hi Bobsmum, Had a lovely holiday thanks, Jamie very much back to normal now, peeing up all my plant pots !
Not sure when it will be in the paper and I don't know if they will tell me, will give them a call tomorrow and try and find out. He was found wandering near Guildford, I can't for the life of me remember the place, It's a good idea to poster Guilford area, I never even gave it a thought. Don't worry I can get you a copy of the article when it comes out, may be a good opportunity for us to have that coffee xx

Update on Jamie, My groomer very kindly fitted him in yesterday and he is now a very short haired Westie, the whole lot, face and all had to come off ! He feels a lot better now and has settled right back in at home, as soon as we pulled up at the gate he started whining, he knew where is was - relief !
ROB/SUE
------- The only thing I can say is "DON'T GIVE UP" miracles do happen ! I confess I had given up all hope of ever seeing my boy again, still keep looking at him in absolute amazement, I am so pleased that your Scout is on the mend , what an awful time you have had, Pixie is chipped so the chance of her getting back to you is very good. 4 months Jamie was gone, so keep strong in your thoughts.
Thank you for putting Jamie on your site, praying for Pixie to come home soon. Will do all I can for you, Lotsa Love, Gina xxxx
JUNE
---- Did txt you a pic yesterday, hope you got it, Thanks again for all your help xxxx

Oh Gina I cant tell you how thrilled I am that Jamie is back home. Went in to see what the latest is on Pixie and could hardly beleive it when I saw the news about Jamie. What a horrible time it has been for you. He was never far from my thoughts, happy days to come. Love June.
ROB
So so happy to see Jamie is back home! Gave me a real lift, have been hunting for Pixie following a possible sighting that didn't pan out. And my other dog got bitten by an adder in the process and has spent 6 hours on drip at vet.
Delighted for you Gina! Jamie has been on Pixie's website for the past few days www.whereispixie.co.uk as we are not that far away and wanted to include other localmissing dogs. When you've had a chance to settle down, would you mind taking a look at the site and posting a bit about how amazing his return is, and the power of microchipping? The site has had almost 2000 hits so far and we are really pushing it to try to publicise Pixie; but it would also be great if it nudged people to get their dogs chipped. I don't think Jamie would have made it back to you without, and I suspect it's my best chanvce of seeing Pixie again.
All the best,
SueXX

Gina, I agree with SanBarn. Jamie is very happy to see you and to be back home; his little brain just has a lot to process at the moment - he has to take it all in. I bet he's already feeling better and settled right back in now, but if not, it won't take long. It's like when you've been on a long holiday and you come back home, everything looks weird and different. And poor Jamie hasn't exactly had a holiday, so it must be really odd for him. Whisper will be fine too. Between them, they have a lot of catching up to do! You take care, love to you all, God bless. Hey, wanna be a helper? You've been thru it, so are just the right person to help others. If so click in your registration area and click to receive alerts/updates for when a dog goes missing in your area. If not, no problem. You've been thru a lot, so we'd let you off! :-) Next summer holiday, Jamie will be with you again! xxx

Gina,it may take Jamie a few hours or a few days to settle, he's been living rough but once he's marked his territory, had a few good meals and a lovely warm bed to sleep in with Whisper for company,he'll soon settle and he'll start to remember that where he is,is home. He may even be a little growly, depends how he's been treated, just be patient and he'll be fine. Sooo glad you've got him home. xxx

Hi Gina
I totally understand why you are taking a back seat & that you love Jamie & always will but as you said the last time we spoke it breaks your heart not knowing what has happened to him & that must be the hardest thing with all the lovely dogs that have gone missing x I really hope one day you will get your boy back & I will keep looking even when we are out on walks there are a couple of dogs that are on my mind & Jamie is top of my list if you ever need help you know where I am x
Gina
Cheers June, I will always keep looking but am more and more convinced that he has been taken, so taking a back seat, if he comes home ,it's meant to be , if not, I just hope someone nice has him. Thank you so much for all the support you have given me, Bless You . xxxx
June
Hi Gina, that must have been a real downer about it not being Jamie. Just to let you no, I havn't given up hope and will keep looking.
SanBarn
So that leaves Egham and the village green as the last known sightings. If Jamie is on the loose then it's just a matter of time before he's spotted again, if someone has taken him in then as I said before, at some point he'll need a vet or a groomer. Keep going with the posters, if someone has him then they may feel guilty or start to worry about getting found out and hand him in, a neighbour may also be suspicious and report them.xx
Gina
I had a phone call testerday sun 20th May from Adrian, the guy who thought he might have spotted Jamie at St Anns Hill, It has now been confirmed that it was NOT Jamie as this dog had black patches on its head, I asked him if it looked like a stray as I could post on this site but he said no it looked well cared for.
I can now put closure on that one ! xx
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
If you have a sighting please phone us, in case we don't see this page quick enough! Then we can all swing into action with you. x
Gina
Thanks Paulak, SanBarn and Kimmybear, Yes I will keep postering and yes I always keep a bag of Jamie's favourite treats and his lead in my car, they never come out and my phone is plastered to my side, have been out and about most of this lovely weekend and still absolutely nothing !
SanBarn, I have taken a wee step back but as you know ,it never leaves your mind completely, probably never will all the time there is a question mark over, how, why and where.
Thanks again to you all for your support xxxx
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Gina, just keep on with the posters and put them around the sighting areas. That's what you need to do, as that is how you will get called. If Jamie is out there, he will be found at some point. Just do the best you can. If you get a sighting, then you run! Remember he may not immediately recognise you at first so he may run, so carefully does it. Let him come to you, and you have food on you that you can throw to him. Gently does it, when that time comes. We have ways to catch dogs if this doesn't work, so don't worry about that, but we need to know the route he travels. If he gets back to this garden, we can then plan to get him. Meantime, you have some fantastic helpers here. x Let's take it as it comes, okay? Everything crossed. x
PaulaK
Gina im sorry i havent been any help so far, lots going on and just havent had time. Am heading out early tomorrow morning so will go over that way and look out for your boy x
SanBarn
Gina, don't feel bad because you don't think you're doing enough. Like June said, we are all here to help, even if like me it's just moral support. It is an extremely stressful experience and you still have family, home and other pets to take care of. There are lots of people out there keeping a look out and spreading the word.Getting posters up and talking to people is the best way to get Jamie home, don't forget to tell people his fur may be a little longer and he probably looks like something that's fell off the back of the dust cart by now! Gina, you are doing great and if you need to take a step back for your sanity, then do so.I'm inclined to agree with Kimmybear that he could have been stolen and then dumped because I've checked the maps and there are a lot of roads he would have to cross to get to where he is. Gina, you have my number so if you need to chat ANYTIME then please call. - San xxxx
Gina
Thank you June, I always get lost up there and its a bit scary sometimes too. x
Sharon, thanks for your phone call, much appreciated x
June
Hi Gina, Have been up there this evening. I went down to the bottom and worked my way along and then up the side of The Company of Animals. I had frankfurters to waft around in case he was near and got the scent. I didn't leave any as we want him to go back to that garden. I only saw one person and that was the daughter of the man that actually lives on the hill. She said it wasn't their garden that he was seen in but now she no's that he has been seen will look out. They have a dog so are also walking up there on a regular basis. Afterwards I drove over and round the hill just in case. Please don't feel shame we are all here to help you and have all been in your position at one time so no how devastating it is to lose a pet.
Gina
OMG ! you people are wonderful ! I would have given up ages ago if not for you, I am still a bit skeptical and still get very upset every time I get a call with no positive result.
I feel I am not doing enough, and you put me to shame, had my grandson all day today so not been able to look too much, did try to find this house this afternoon and had a good look round the area, nothing.
June, I'm in tears every time I read the messages on here.
Thanks Kimmybear I appreciate that x
SanBarn
Good luck June,I'll be thinking of Jamie and all who are trying to catch him. xx
June
Have just read the latest on Jamie and am in tears, so close and a really positive sighting. I am up there first thing Monday to Friday but with dogs so he probably wouldn't show himself. I have just sent the poster to Company of animals because they are on the route to St. Anns. Gave them the latest update. I will go up there this evening without dogs and have a quiet walk around. Everything crossed.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Bumped Jamie due to sighting! Okay everyone, hope you are all ready for action out there. SanBarn has been giving you excellent advice Gina. And yes, I am sure this man will leave food out for Jamie - same time, same place, every day. Something smelly like sardines, or garlic chicken. Do ask him to. He will probably like to help. So hope this is Jamie - it is possible. I am wondering that, if this is Jamie, that he could well have been stolen and that is why he hasn't got back home because he doesn't know where he is? He could also have got out of one of those sites and thus is lost. Team Jamie - we're back on! x
SanBarn
Hi Gina. So close, I'm praying it's Jamie. Maybe the man could leave some food out to encourage the dog to stay put or make regular visits for food? I know it's not always practical with foxes around. Sounds like this dog (hopefuly Jamie)has established his circuit and may have been coming and going between feeding areas. Keep at it Gina, you're doing great.xxx
Gina
Thanks Jayne, have spoken to the man and he seems genuine enough and very nice, he said the dog ran in his garden through a hole in the fence where the foxes go, he said the dog seemed to know where to go and his tail or hers was up and was ok, he had not seen a dog in his garden before so going to keep a weather eye.
Thank you San and Lesley jane.
I think the new Jamie still missing poster was put up by my angel June.
June, if you log on here again , i have not got yr number in my phone, don't know why, perhaps you could message me.

email just received to admin...sighted this dog today at st Annes hill, Chertsey....owner informed and on her way over...well done owner for the posters being put up and renewd...they do work.
Gina
Thanks San, yes have been to both sites and postered and even spoke to a couple of them, but they said they had not seen a dog of this type and would let me know (yeah well, pigs might fly, what do I know ) The Paddocks is a well known house in Lyne /Thorpe.
I have taken note of what you have said and will do my best to keep up the vigil, very disheartening tho it is.
P.S know what you mean about getting on a bit, but hey ho 50 is the new 40 and so on, its a mind set, so keep young San , Cheers, Gina xx
SanBarn
Gina, have you tried the traveller sites? Sometimes a dog will make it's own way to a site because it can hear other dogs. There are two in Lyne that I know of, ELM FARM, LYNE CROSSING ROAD,LYNE. and THE PADDOCKS,LYNE ROAD,LYNE. xx
SanBarn
Hi Gina. A dog will stay in a small area - roughly 1/4 of a mile - if he feels safe,ie; a cosy den and a source of food and water. He will only venture out when it's quiet, usually dead of night or just before dawn, he may come out during the day if there is nothing or no one around to make him feel threatened. If you do go looking for Jamie in the night or just before dawn then only LOOK and LISTEN, don't call as this may startle him, he may not recognise your voice straight away. Don't wear any clothing that rustles. If you do spot him, throw something tasty in his direction - cooked burger, sausage or bacon - and slowly move closer, no eye contact but speak very quietly tempting him closer with food. I have caught a few dogs by "running them down" but I'm not as young and fit these days and most dogs could probably out run me now! The sighting of a dog crosssing the green sounds promising, maybe a vigil from 3am - 5am? If you do a vigil it may be worth informing the local police and popping a note to any houses close by just so they Know what's going on. Well done for staying positive Gina, you are doing so well. San xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Gina
Does anyone know if a dog is running loose, would it possibly stay in the same place or just keep moving ? I know about the triangle thing but where do i go now, keep looking and calling at the possible sighting sites, but nothing !
Kinda lost at the moment x
Gina
Thanks San, will do x
SanBarn
Hi Gina, I did think of you on that boat with all the wind and rain! Sometimes it's good to get away, it gives the batteries a chance to recharge and gets things into perspective. I'm sure Whisper enjoyed the boat and the walks.Gina, don't rely on the rescues etc phoning you, sometimes the chip can move or become faulty so I would advise you to check out all westies, just incase. xx
Gina
Morning everyone, what a lovely surprise to come back and see all your lovely comments !
We had a very wet and windy holiday in Norfolk but did manage a couple of long beach walks and Whisper had the company of my friend and her dog Benji who is a very loud Beagle ! we also managed a trip to Redwings Horse Sanctury where you can take dogs on leads, that was a lovely day out as we are Horse lovers too.
I did look on the Allsorts dog page and yes it could be Jamie but onc again because he is chipped, I would have expected a phone call.
You all give me the encouragement to carry on, so I'm back off round Lyne this morning, if it is him, I wish he would stay in one place or at least be picked up, where to go next ! Gina xx
SanBarn
Me to Kimmybear! Gina, everything Kimmybear says is true, they may look cute and fluffy -and they are - but they are brilliant hunters and survivers, they know how to make a cosy den, where to find food and where there is water (plenty of that at the moment!)And they are telepathic. They are a very hardy little terrier.xx
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Had to pop back on :-) I bet those dreams were Jamie's doing - like I say telepathic! Hold on them; he is home in his heart, always. If that is him out there, he will crop up again. They can survive in the wild for ages as their basic survival instincts kick in. If not him, then you know he's phoning you! He'll be okay. x
Bobsmum, Helper, Surrey
Hi Gina
Like everyone on here I really had my fingers crossed & just pray that you wold get your lovely Jamie back before your holiday, but hold on to Kimmybear's lovely words as I truly believe that Jamie is with you & always will be as you know I have dogs like yours & like everyone on here love them to bits I can't even imagen what you are going through just wish I could help more! I do keep looking on the rescue sites in hope one day Jamie may be on there you know where I am if you ever need any help or chat so glad you have whisper with you xx

Hi Gina I was so pleased to read that Jamie may be close by, you probably wont read this before you go but I will pass the news on and keep looking. Please use my mobile number if you need to. xx
Gina
Dear Kim,
Such a coincidence, I love your words and have been willing Jamie home in time for our annual dog holiday which by the way is today, we are off later on this morning. Yesterday I received a call from a lady asking if Jamie was still missing and when I told her he was she went on to explain that on Tues an animal ran across the road in front of her and onto a green by our local village hall, she said she thought it was a rabbit and first then realised it was a dog, it wasn't until yesterday that she saw my poster and decided to give me a call as she said it could very well have been him, he is a relatively small Westie so would have lost a lot of weight and be very grey after 6 weeks, again 2 days had passed since the sighting but this one realy gives me hope ! I did go straight there calling and speaking to people but nothing again, so once more really down in the dumps. As I say we are on holiday today but my son is here looking after my various other animals (chickens, Pheasants and ducks )and he said he would make more posters and go looking every day for me.
Also had two dreams in which Jamie came home, this also made me wonder.
I can't thank the Doglost site and their helpers for all the encouragement and support I have received and any input is well received, bless you all.
My son will do all he can while we are away and my phone never leaves my side, just in case. I will be back on site next Friday and of course will let you know of any outcome.
Cheers guys. God Bless, Gina xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Gina, I could be wrong, but I don't think he is on the loose either. I can't help thinking if he went off of his own accord, he would have come back if he could. Now let's work through this logically for a moment. If he had met with an accident he should have cropped up at the vets. If it was a bad accident and he had gone to heaven, you know that he will be safe up there. If he was stolen, sold on or picked up by someone his chip will, at some point in the future, bring him home. No matter where he is, your love for each other will never cease; it binds you together through all space and time. Jamie is always yours and you his. Dogs are telepathic so whether he is on earth or in heaven, he will know what you think and how much he is loved. Whisper probably talks to him on some level - they are so clever! Talk to Jamie whenever you need and he will hear you. This I truly believe. If he is in heaven, he's not going anywhere - he'll stay with you. If he's on earth, he could still get back to you. We have heard so many strange stories on this site, and so many dogs appearing months or even years later. You say there are still calls you could make? It is usually better to know than not know. Why don't you get someone else to make those calls for you? Speak to a friend, the dog warden or maybe a helper on here would call for you? If you want that, just put a post on here and one of us will contact you to do it for you. If you don't want to make those enquiries, then that is okay too, but you may always be wondering if you don't. But as I say, whatever has happened or whatever you do, Jamie is your little fur baby forever and he knows it. Give Whisper a big hug from all of us on here too. Make sure Whisper is never alone in the garden or anywhere, as we still don't know for certain how Jamie went missing and there are thieves about. Jamie's page will remain just like this until we hear that he is reunited; that way if ever a Westie crops up we can match with the picture and his details. A lot of that goes on behind the scenes all the time, year after year. If you need us, no matter when, you call us, okay? Don't forget to post if you want those calls made; but you do what you feel is right for you. God bless you all and precious Jamie; you are always in our prayers. One day, you'll all be back together one way or another; families are forever. With love, Kim x
Gina
Thanks June but I dont think he is local I think he has been picked up and taken off somewhere, maybe one day someone will scan him, you never know, cheers xx
June
Hi Gina, I am so sorry that after all this time he hasn't been found. I no what you mean about driving but looking for him all the time. If you think it would help I would drive you round so that you can look. Although I no you will still look for him at every opportunity. xx
Gina
Thank you San, I know this to be the case and it gives me comfort. In 2 weeks we are off on our annual dog holiday to Norfolk, this will be a particularly sad one as Jamie has been with us for the last two, first time he was only a little guy and love it so much on the beach, the pics on the poster were of him last year on thr Norfok broads, he was a star on the boat and loved every minute of it,
Whisper my whippet X is missing him too and is still sleeping in his bed. Hope is eternal, thank you xx
SanBarn
Hi Gina,I fully understand the reasons you have come to this decision.Always remember that the Doglost helpers will have eyes and ears everywhere.Like yourself,we will never give up hope of finding Jamie. San xxx
Gina
Kimmybear, sorry for the delay in answering but my internet has been down, very annoying !
Thank you for your comments, you know i sit here chewing my nails debating with myself about some enquiries i might make because I'm afraid of the outcome, it has been nearly 5 weeks now and this is making me ill and a danger on the roads, I was driving with my grandson last week and nearly had an accident because i was scanning the roads and fields as i was driving along, I keep having palpitations so am getting to the point where i have to start putting it behind me a bit, don't get me wrong, I love Jamie and every morning look at my gate to see if he is there jumping up and down to get in and every morning i get depressed again, I would do anything to get him back and maybe one day as you say I might, I won't ever really give up hope but it is going to the back of my mind now - Only for my sanity you understand.
I cannot thank you all enough for the hope and strength you have given me through this awful ordeal and i will keep looking on the Doglost site and if any news appears will keep you informed - GOD BLESS xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Gina, that is a brilliant idea! Postmen see a lot of dogs! :-) The fact that Jamie is micro chipped is really a big PLUS. Some dogs turn up months or years later in the strangest of locations, miles away, because of their chip. There is always hope. Can you confirm if you checked with the road people, like the Highways Agency for your area and also the council's cleansing dept? These people do not scan any animals they find, so if you feel you need to rule this out, ring again. I suspect if anything happened, it would have been the same day or very close to it. Also, the railways never scan and that does still worry me, as dogs do get lost to the railways and owners do not know because they hardly ever get reported and sometimes never seen. Did you call Network Rail and ask if a dog had been reported? Just in case. I know you put a poster up. The other thing is, if Jamie was taken from your garden, and sold on by an unscrupulous person, at some point in the future, he may get scanned in a vet and bingo! You are really doing well and no matter where Jamie is, he knows he is loved by you. Dogs are telepathic and they can always feel your love, just like you know how much he loves you - no matter what or where - time and space mean nothing; they are SO clever! Finally, did Jamie ever wander off in the past? If so, how far did he ever go? Just trying to figure out how/why he disappeared. If he could have got back home, I am sure he would have done, so quite possible someone has him and one day, you may well have that bingo moment. Thinking of you both, always, and, you have some really great helpers out there. x
Gina
June. Thank you again, yes i have been around the area most days, so appreciate you going in the evening xx
hamish&kay. Thank you again too for still looking, unfortunately the dog is not Jamie although it does look like a westie. Jamie was well tagged and with a red plastic i am chipped, scan me band, this has always been my worry - he was so well identified and nothing has come through, I really expected a phone cal within a couple of hours of him going missing with someone cheerully saying "have you lost your dog" ? So yes i do look at dogs found but would really expect a phone call first. Thank you so much though xxx
My husband had the really good idea of taking a poster to all the sorting offices around as the postmen are out and about every day, Im going to do that too. xxxxx
June
Hi Gina, sorry no joy last night around Egham. I drove around the Manocroft estate, then parked up in the town and walked around the roads between the town and the by pass. The recycling boxes were out so plenty of scope for a hungry dog.

Hi Gina have just read your update. Thinking about what Sanbarn said re. the triangle. I will be in the Egham area this evening. It will be about 7.45 so not dark but dusk. Will have a scout around. If you want me to concentrate on a particular area let me know.
Gina
Have been on to The Surrey Herald this morning and they were very helpful but a quarter page ad is £350.00 oops !
I can put a credit size one for £70.00 and I shall be doing this on Fri ready for the weds paper, this will cover most of Surrey so I think it will be a good idea.
hamish&katy, thank you for that but it is not Jamie although they do all look alike when clipped, Jamie is chipped so would have expected a call if it was him too xx
Abbalish, thank you very much, I never thought of that xx
bobsmum, thanks for txt.
Kimmybear, Oh dear i really would be too shy to wear a placard, but what a great ideaxxxxxx
Yet again I am overwhelmed by you all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Remember there are other places you CAN poster without upsetting the council. Ask re Church notice boards, give to shops for their windows, put in your garden and all friends & relatives windows and gardens, all yours and friends cars, schools, any private property where the owner won't mind, try businesses, walk around with a placard on - that might even get you your picture in the paper for free as its news! Then everyone will know your plight that way. Unless the council asks you not to poster, keep putting them up. x
Bobsmum, Helper, Surrey
Hi Gina
I think the paper is a great idea! I will get the posters up ASAP & let you know I think the more people who look out for Jamie the better we just need him to show himself x
SanBarn
Hi Gina,I know what you mean about posters being taken down,in my area the council remove them as soon as they can, they don't like posters on their "street furniture".I'll keep my views to myself about what I think of the council! Gina, the Herald is an exellent idea, they should run a story, after all,a local paper is for local people. Fingers x Jamie is home soon. xxx

June, thank you, I had an ok Easter anyway, the family went out for lunch and for a few hours nobody was allowed to mention Jamie, so focus was elsewhere for once, still get a bit tearful every time it is cold or like this morning, raining ! I worry so that he is cold, wet and hungry, sometimes I hope its not him so at least he might be being fed.
SanBarn thank you too, have postered the area as best I can, Church, police station and parks including the Sport centre but you know some people object and take the posters down.
Bobsmum also thank you, did phone the other day just to let you know about the sighting, No I haven't Bisley way and and you are a star to do that, Cheers xx
Tomorrrow I am going to try The Staines, Chertsey and Egham Surrey Herald, not sure that they will do anything but thought maybe I could put a personal ad in there or something.
HOPE YOU ALL HAD A GOOD EASTER AND ONCE AGAIN THANKS A MILLION FOR YOUR ENCOURAGEMENT AND SUPPORT !
Best Wishes, Gina xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Gina, just checking for news of Jamie i really really hope he is home soon he is never far from my mind & when we are out that way i'm always looking out for him just wondered if you have postered west end bisley way? i will try that for you fingers crossed he is home soon x
SanBarn
Hi Gina, like June,I also wish it was a happy easter for you and I also have every faith that you will get Jamie home. I don't know your area at all but I have looked on the map and it looks like he may be forming his triangle. They don't always hear when being called, they don't think of the past or future they live in the "moment" and all Jamie is thinking about is food and shelter. The best times to look are after dark and just before dawn, when it's quiet.Lots of posters for Egham AND the surrounding area. San xx
June
Hi Gina, I wish it could be a happy Easter for you, I stopped in Egham this morning about 8.30. Left the van in the main car park and walked round the back of Tesco, I thought there may be a chance that he was looking for food or just curled up. I then went down the side of the fire station where there are lots of houses and cul de sacs. It was quiet so thought it would give me a better chance of hearing him. I came back out at the side of the railway station. I am still hopeful of a happy outcome and glad that you are still positive. If anyone has got any new ideas they would be most welcome. x
Gina
Morning June, Happy Easter ! Got up early this morning and went round thinking if he was still around he may be out early, popped a poster in the police station as they were closed, put some more posters round and about and spoke to people walking dogs - nothing.
Yes you are right, I am at the end of my tether now ! but still you never know, Thank you so much yet again for your support, It means a lot, we must meet some time. Best Wishes to you, Gina x
June
Gina you must be at the end of your tether, surely if one person has seen what they think could be Jamie then others must have. I am free tomorrow morning so will look around Egham but will do whatever you think would be helpful. Just let me know. I am out now until around 6 but do use my mobile if you need to. Will check this site later for news if I don't hear from you.
Gina
Had a phone call today about a possible sighting in Egham, have been all round the area but again it was 4 hrs since the sighting that the call came in. It was an old lady talking to her daughter on the phone and happened to mention that there was an unkempt dog going into her cul de sac
she said it looked like a westie , the daughter had seen my poster and decided to give me a call. It is very frustrating that no one has picked him up (if its him) and a 4 hr gap has occurred, Oh where can he be now ?
Going to poster all round Egham tomorrow. Here's hoping that someone picks him up x Thanks again June xx
June
Hi Gina, let us hope for some good news soon, in the meantime I have replaced a couple of the posters at St. Anns showing that he is still missing, just to keep it in peoples minds. I will be available on and off over the weekend to help, just let me no.
Gina
Bobsmum , thats so kind, thank you x
SanBarn , Have told my groomer and she is telling all her customers to keep an eye out, Thank you onc again, I am overwhelmed by such thoughtful people, hope I can help someone one day x
SanBarn
Gina, have you visited all the groomers in the area? If someone has Jamie then at some point he would have to go for a fur cut, if maybe you could ask the groomer to let you know if a young westie is brought in then you could see if it is Jamie. Some groomers have scanners. I have a scanner and would be more than willing to travel over if needed. xx

Well done June. You are such fab helpers out there. Come on little boy, where are you?? x
Bobsmum, Helper, Surrey
Hi Gina
Just came on to see if there was any news i know its easy for me to say but keep strong i was just reading on the latest found dogs about a jack russell called Alfie found & back with hs owners after 3 years! dont give up we are all still looking & i keep looking on the websites incase he maybe on there x
Gina
SanBarn - do you really think so, I hope so anyway. The local Vets have a poster and have been informed. Thank you x
Gina
Thank you June, there is one in the farm shop too, behind the counter, I did put one outside Salesian but that has gone and I suspect its where the horrid phone call came from. If you were down Hardwick Lane, you could have popped in - posters on my gate posts and on trees down there, have been all round Squires and the fields around there several times. If he was in any of the fields down Hardwick Lane he would have found his way home. I do thank you for your help, it's nice to know that people are still keeping an eye out x
June
Hi Gina, just to update you. I called in at the farm shop near Almners Road and the chap said that he used to be manager at Squires and a lot of dogs would head up there. I checked as much as possible the ditches along Hardwick lane. I couldn't see anyone in Hardwick Farm to ask. Spoke to some people in White Lodge and showed Jamies picture, they hadn't seen him. Went to Squires who had the poster up and thought maybe he had been found, so at least they no that he is still missing and will spread the word. Spoke to some people in Green Lane who had seen the posters but not Jamie. It was suggested to try Salesian fields, I expect permission would have to be obtained first. Also asked a couple of passers by. Sorry not to have more positive news.
SanBarn
Gina, although he's still a youngster he will know how to stay warm, he'll have made himself a little den somewhere, deep in thicket,a bramble hedge, a cosy out of the way place, he'll have probably found a supply of food and water, even if it is a thrown away half eaten burger. There are lots of people out there looking for him and spreading the word.If you have'n't already done it,don't forget to let EVERY vet in your area and surrounding area's know that Jamie is missing and if Jamie is taken to a vet and the vet, being aware he is missing, should automatically scan the dog.xx
Gina
Yes Kimmybear have done the station and the dog warden again.
Thank you Riverlady, that is amazing !
It was so cold last night, frost this morning, so worried if Jamie is out there, he is always clipped, so won't have a full coat to keep him warm and still such a baby really xx
DogLostRiverlady
Still circulating Jamie.....the last westie we looked for.....sydney was on the streets for 3 weeks....he was very grey...the colour of the pavements and we kept on missing him as he scurried between feeding points unoticed. Stay strong.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Gina, this is not to say it wasn't him. I doubt even an old, lonely man would call unless he saw a dog. It could be this dog has been picked up by someone. You need to keep in touch with the dog warden and keep those posters going up. At least you know they are working if a dog is seen. How far are you from the railway? I know its quite close. Have you reported to Network Rail, or spoken to them? But, as I advised they don't scan and don't often report, but you need to ask. Go in the station nearest to you. Sometimes kind workers will walk the lines for you to check. Come on Jamie, where are you baby? x
Gina
Thank you all once again, I'm sorry to say there has been no other sightings and beginning to wonder if this was just a lonely man looking for someone to talk to as he did go on a bit, I was trying to get off the phone so I could get there and have a look and took ages, also he said that it was two hours since he saw him, you never know I guess. Yes if it was Jamie and he had kept going in the same direction as the man said he was walking, he probably would have realised where he was, been all around the area every day, still nothing ! x
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
If Jamie got out on his own, I would suspect he would have come back unless some thing or some one stopped him. If you have checked all the things that could stop him, checked the roads etc and the council's cleaning dept and the Highways, then its possible someone took him - also possible he has escaped or been let go, if this was him. Would he know his way back home from there? If he's been dropped there, he may not, if he's not used to it there. Can you also poster more at the station and hand to train drivers along that route from the platform. We need to be sure. So hope this was him spotted and that you get another call very soon. Everything crossed. x
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
This is good! Make sure there are lots more posters up in that area. Read the info and advice sheets you were sent. Do some scenting from there towards home, but in safe way i.e. you don't want him crossing busy roads or anything. Or just to keep him safe in that area so you can check and get more sightings. It is usually a call from the public that locates the missing dogs. I suspect this was lost dog, so could well have been Jamie. I have bumped due to sighting.x
SanBarn
Yes Gina this does sound good Knowing he is in the area,I wish I was closer so I could help more. Are there lots of posters around the area he was sighted? Let's get Jamie home now.xx
June
Hi Gina, that sounds really positive but very disapointing that he didn't show. He would probably be very frightened and they dont hear so well when that is the case. I wish I could be more helpful but I am looking out for him wherever I go.
Gina
Apologies for bad spelling there, typing too quick x
Gina
Thanks Kimmybear but the nuber was witheld and they put the phone down straight away, I think it was just nasty teenagers with nothing else to fill their empty minds, Im over that now. On a brighter side I had a phone call yesterday fron a man who thought he may have seen Jamie local to my home and apparently heading this way, he said he looked tatty and dirty and tried to call him over but would not come as he had two dogs with him, seems genuine call but he did say that it was 2 hrs ago, although I came rucshing home and emptied my car of petro driving around locally and calling, there was nothing and nobody else has called yet ! Here's hoping it was him and someone spots him today. I did leave my gate open all night just in case he made it home

DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Gina, yes, sadly this is not uncommon. You need to tell police. There could be a reason they are doing this; not to worry about it, but it could be a lead. Did you get the number or was it withheld? They may, just may, know where Jamie is and they could be from an undesirable family. We really need to find a co-ordinator with some local knowledge on this one. Please tell police and get an incident number, in fact, ask for a crime number because I am sure its a crime to say such horrible things over the phone to someone. You ignore the bad stuff and try asking questions, like how do you know then? I don't believe you, etc. Call their bluff, okay? See if you can get some clues as to who they are? Or where they saw the poster, where your dog was seen, how do they its your dog? Lead them on. If in school, the police can go in and I bet you the police would know which kids they were! Sometimes rotten kids have seen the dog and just like to be horrible instead of helping and some kids can't keep a secret so rather than tell the truth, they decide to make up stories as they know something you don't and need to get it out in some way, even if a load of lies. Does that make sense? Call police. They may not help, but you try and make them. Its against the law to cause grief like that. x
Gina
Thank you SanBarn, most appreciated xx
SanBarn
Gina, the fact you have Jamies' toys and bed waiting means you're not giving up hope. How people who think it's ok to keep a dog knowing it's not theirs and the distress they must be causing, manage to live with themselves, is beyond belief. I'll keep Jamie in my thoughts and prayers...as always. xx
Gina
June and SanBarn. Have done all I can I think and yes they are useless b******s, their mothers should be proud of them (NOT)
I am beginning to think that I won't see Jamie again but his toys and bed are here waiting just in case !
SanBarn
Sorry to read you've had a nasty call, useless little b******s, don't let them get to you. I was thinking, does Jamie have a favourite squeaky toy? Maybe take it on his regular walk or favourite area and give it a good squeak every few yards and if someone close by has him Jamie may hear it and bark letting you know where he is. A long shot but anything, no matter how mad it may seem, is worth a try. good luck. xx
June
Hi Gina I am so sorry to hear you are having those "phone calls" what a pity they don't apply their energy to helping to look for Jamie. While I was at dog training today I spoke to Sarah the trainer who said she would put a poster up and alert as many people as she can. Have you checked again with the dog warden? Not easy I no but try and stay positive.
Gina
Thank you Riverlady x
Has anyone else had nasty phone calls from teenagers saying they have found your dog ! I can't repeat what they said before they put the phone down - Too upsetting, perhaps i shouldn't post outside schools ?

Have put Jamie on twitter + will circulate.

Thanks Sharon, I had a phone call this morning saying someone had found part of a red tartan collar, but it wasn't Jamies - not sure if I'm happy about it or not !

Going down to poster now x

Thanks June, went up there this morning and saw that you had done that - most grateful - I put a couple more up there right at the road entrance.
My hand is aching now from postering with a staple gun, also went to The Meads and the Green where they hold the Black Cherry Fair, Doctors, Rubbish Tip, schools and churches, also Lyne Village Hall so most bases covered now i think xLast edited: 2012-03-22 12:24:28 by Gina

Gina, well done. I know its so hard, but you just never know. Okay? If the media does help, please post on here. If not, keep trying (so they get sick of you and do it!). Try an advert - even a little one can help. But as you are insured, the company may well pay for your adverts and posters so you may be able to splash out - check with them how much they will give for missing dog leaflets etc. You need 100's of posters. God bless and lets get Jamie home. x
June
Will put posters up at St. Anns Hill in the morning, keep on to the dog warden just in case, Kimmybear is right you need to keep on to all the relevant agencies to keep it fresh in their minds. Don't give up hope.
Gina
Thanks everyone, I have done all the suggestions and am going to try the paper and the local radio today, you guys really give me hope.

Gina, many dogs come back after a while, whether from being in the wild or being kept by someone. Keep doing everything in the advice sheets, make your baby too hot to handle. You CAN do it! We are all here shouting you on. You have to really make this your mission and poster like mad, 100's of them. Are you sure the gate was left open? Could someone have nabbed him? I think you need to cover all your bases and if someone has him they need to know we are on their trail. Really get Jamie in everyone's faces so they can't ignore the fact that he's missing, okay? Try the papers and the local radio, see if anyone will help you? Sometimes they won't, but sometimes they do. Try anything! Remember he has his chip so he has that in his favour, but you still need to call the rescues and vets etc. Have you called the council, and Highways Agencies? Someone has probably taken him in and so you need to make sure they know who to call by postering loads. Good luck, let's get Jamie home! x
SanBarn
I 'lost' my Westie four times for about 20 minutes each time during his lifetime and it was so worrying. One time he got out of the side gate and was taking himself to the park but heard a neighbours westie barking so decided to pay him a visit, luckily the neighbour spotted my lad and put a lead on him and brought him home. So I was wondering, could your little lad have taken himself off somewhere? He is chipped and has a tattoo so his chances of getting home are very good. Plenty of posters EVERYWHERE, schools, supermarket car parks, anywhere a lot of people gather. Flyers through letter boxes if you can do it. Is there a local paper that can run a story? I'm in Essex so a bit too far to help but I am thinking of Jamie and willing him home. xx

Hi Gina i spoke to you yesterday hang on in there going for dog walk later & will put out some more posters of Jamie dont forget to check with the RSPCA at chobham each day & take a poster down to them also battersea old windsor its worth talking to their rehoming team & local vets fingers crossed he will be home soon xx

I am so sorry he is not home yet but sometimes things don't happen as quickly as we would like. It doesn't mean that he will not come home. Please stay strong xx

Thank you so much for the help and support that i have had from Doglost, I am still not coping very well and have only just realised that i could register and comment on the forum. It is one week today that our little boy went missing, we all miss him so much and although i was very possitive at the beginning of the week i am now getting worse - not sleeping and worrying all the time (tears rolling down cheeks)
