Dorset Dog Rescue have a young (approx 18mnths old) male Shih Tzu called 'Sparky' - could this be Louie? By their description he is very nervous, well, if he's had a bit of a rough time, he would be!

I agree, CJ. A very sad case indeed. Carole

This is sad case but will have to be resolved by seeing if the present owners would sell back the dog.
There is no fraud taken place as money was accepted ( although not full amount allegedly agreed) There is no theft as Louie was offered for sale.

The person who has since purchased Louie has done so in good faith not knowing the full story. They purchased the dog from another party so Louie has been sold on twice since the incident.

If they are contacted and advised what happend they may agree to sell Louie back.

Unfortunate as this story is, this person who has Louie is within the law.

Chip company have been in touch as dog has been sold on to an innocent couple who are trying to change the details on the chip. Have advised them to ring their dogwarden for advice as police say as money changed hands albeit not the full sun it is a civil matter. Have also emailed details to CJ for advise.

Have had some input from the police but none hopeful. They have apparently been to where the dog was taken and they have denied having any dogs or any incident involving a dog. I'm not sure that the report is precise as it has come 3rd hand and some bits don't add up. I am going to systematically email all vets in lots of regions to widen my search but this will take some time. Will advise if I hear anything else. Clive

Hope you received my email and that some of the information is of use. Do try to get lots of media coverage. Fingers crossed Louie is home by the time I am around again. Good luck. Carole

Have just spoken with Clive who registered Louie on DL for his mother-in-law from whom the dog was 'taken'. He has done all the right things incl contacting microchip company and flagging up as stolen. Some vets have been contacted and I have suggested he now email poster to them as well. Louie has his own facebook page and Clive will post details of that on here soon. Carole

Sorry to see that LOUIE is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (37935)
