- 2 jack russells and 1 west highland white running amuck on A414 near Ladygrove Caravan Park. All filthy and scared, run into undergrowth.

- Is Jackson's tail definately docked as this dog has been seen wandering around looking very scared and lost and it looks so similar to Jackson: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=484918108193953&set=a.484918091527288.115865.100000273031695&type=1&comment_id=1525398&ref=notif¬if_t=photo_reply&theater

- Sorry, me again! Had a thought.... some of the "planned" thefts at this location seemed to go for unchipped dogs and those that have come back, could be the chipped ones let go? It is possible the thief had a scanner. However, sometimes a theft is by opportunity. This is just a possibility: if Sunny and Jackson got down a hole and if a fox or badger was cornered and attacked, giving Sunny his wounds, it could be that the same happened to Jack. Whilst they were trying to recuperate, someone could have picked up Jackson, just because they could. If they had kept Jackson this would be why he's not been seen. If so, if this person knows there is a reward he may give him back; or if he escapes, he could be reunited with his chip. This could explain his disppearance.

- Its okay, the lab has been checked out and is not Brook. So glad Sunny is well and so wish we had Jackson back for you. We will not give up. x

- There are people out there still actively looking for Jackson. People have his details along with Pip, Wayne, Molly, Booboo, Alfie and all. The dogs missing from this area have been spread quite far. It is possible he has been taken and kept. If anyone is able, can you poster the rural areas and other villages, or any barns, farms or properties spreading outwards from Pilgrims Hatch. Maybe just keep a few in the car and as you pass a property drop one in the letterbox, or pop on a post etc. As some of this area is rural, a missing dog would not necessarily be visible, so we need to stir up curiosity. And on occasion, in rural areas, dogs are much closer to home than we think. We need to try. Many thanks.
- 2012-04-02 07:09 SHARON GARNETT
- Thank you SanBarn. Sorry, Caroline I haven't any details of Lab, I saw it briefly barking at me. I have had responses to the posters but no positive sightings of Jackson. Sunny is well now, but missing Jackson.
- 2012-03-29 10:43 SanBarn
- Jackson is still on my radar and I'm spreading the word, I've seen plenty of posters around so he should be getting quite well known by now. I haven't any free time until the weekend but if you need searching or postering done in a certain area please let me know.xx

- Hi Sharon, my JRT went missing fm south Weald country found next day in Pilgrims Hatch. Stay positive they are hardly little dogs. I know people in doddinghurst n hook end area. Will circulate about Jackson. xx
- 2012-03-25 20:37 Caroline Hoyles
- So sorry to hear your dog is also missing and I hope you find him really soon. Good luck x
Sharon Garnett I believe you have seen a choc Lab with travellers...if you have any further details about the dog, please could you post it on Brook's page. Many thanks Caroline (Brook's Mummy) x - 2012-03-25 20:37 SanBarn
- There are posters for Jackson around Harold Hill so the net is spreading. I'll be in South weald early in the morning looking for missing Nancy so I'll keep my eyes peeled for Jackson too. Can anyone check out the Labby at the Blackmore traveller site? I don't know what the procedure would be. Can the police go there with the dog warden and a scanner? xx
- 2012-03-25 20:00 angi
- I really hope you find Jackson very soon. X chocolate Labrador Brook was stolen last April (Brook 29259 ) the hunt is still very much on for him and as appleby fair was nearby he could be with travellers. Brooks page is bumped at the moment if you see a resemblance or anyone is able to check? Daisy a choc girl was also taken last year in lincolnshire. It would be fantastic if this dog turned out to be one if them :) xx
- 2012-03-24 19:23 SHARON GARNETT
- I doubt he is still down a hole. The man from Essex Badgers said that they stay there 2 days and if they are stuck they become dehydrated and get out. I have been to the setts I know. I have not heard him or anything else. Sunny is naturally interested in all the holes we visit, but it is difficult to know if that means anything.
- 2012-03-24 14:10 Riverlady
- Have put Jackson on twitter + will circulate.
- 2012-03-23 17:59 dewilliams42
- ARE YOU STILL THINKING HE COULD STILL BE DOWN A HOLE? IT SEEMS SUNNY WAS AND THEY WOULD PROBABLY HAVE STUCK TOGETHER. HAS SUNNY BEEN ABLE TO SHOW YOU ROUGHLY WHERE HE HAD BEEN?
- 2012-03-23 16:10 SanBarn
- oh that's brilliant news, let hope it brings Jackson home. I'm away working until Moday but will take my laptop with me so I can keep up with things and I'll also be spreading the word.xx

- Jackson is in the Brentwood Gazette!
- 2012-03-22 21:59 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- As we know dogs were stolen from this area (Pilgrims Hatch), we need to cover all our bases, just in case Jack has been picked up too, whether by intent or opportunity. The route from Chelmsford, Ongar, Brentwood past Harlow to Hertfordshire and onwards to Cambridge, Suffolk and Norfolk is a main route and along this route are missing dogs. So, if anyone knows someone in any of the places this route passes through, please ask them all to print a few posters of Jack and put up in their local area where there are kennels or farms. Also we need to spread Jack on twitter and FB too. He may well have been taken in by someone, but I don't want to leave any stone unturned. We are doing the same with Pip. x
- 2012-03-22 16:44 SanBarn
- Thanks Kimmybear. x Thanks for the info Rosalie. I've been to the site and left them a poster, they haven't seen him but will keep a lookout for him, the man was a dog owner so very sympathetic. I've left a poster at the farmhouse a little way along from the site, also left one with Bently village tennis club at the start of the straight mile. Walked Hullets lane and checked the common, posters already down there. left poster with Time 4 pets on the ongar road and one with the little Total garage in Blackmore road, kelvedon hatch already postered so I've replaced water damaged ones and added a few more. People I've spoken to have seen the posters and are aware that Jack is missing.I'm glad Sunny is getting better,he's bound to get cross when his leg is bathed,it must be very sore, poor little mite.xx

- You are doing so fab out there! Bless you! x
- 2012-03-21 15:41 Rosalie
- I am not sure where abouts and the fencing gates are often closed.
They were not allowed to start work there straight away so not sure what went on. There is a house close by they might know more. Also may be alarmed as theives stole equipement off the site. - 2012-03-21 10:54 SanBarn
- Can anyone check that building site today? If not,I can do it tomorrow on my way to Kelvedon Hatch.xx
- 2012-03-21 09:32 Rosalie
- There are badger sets on the property where they are building a cemetery along the straight mile, Ongar Road, has that been checked?
- 2012-03-21 00:25 SanBarn
- Sorry Sharon, I'm at Kelvedon Hatch on thurs, not Blackmore so I'll poster K.H. I didn't know there was a site there either...but I do now! travellers have bought little bits of land here there and everywhere down little out of the way lanes. Have you put any flyers through your neighbours letterboxes? just a thought because someone may have taken Jack in, not everyone Knows the law about reporting to the dog warden. xx
- 2012-03-20 22:33 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- Oh, there's a site nearby? That's a nuisance but at least you have visited it Sharon and spread the word. Did you leave a poster with them? I'd go back again and try pleading with them to help you circulate the fact that Jack is missing. Remind them there is a reward but don't say how much as you can negotiate later if need be. Well worth another try. Take someone with you (but not Sunny! Keep Sunny safe with someone else). Such good news that Sunny is finally on the mend; I am so pleased. That orange dust stuff is sounding very possible. Sharon, when you take Sunny out, is there an area he wants to run to or an area that he will not go to? Try checking his mannerisms and body language. Might give you a clue. x SanBarn, what a gem you are! x

- I had more photos of the other terrier found on the site emailed to me but it was not Jack.

- thanks for looking SanBarn. I have put a notice in the shop in Blackmore but it is a bit hidden away in the middle of the shop. I visited the travellers there and they only had a chocolate labrador. Good news today, Sunny wagged his tail and followed me upstairs, I was so pleased to hear him search all the rooms looking for me, much more like himself, especially as he was rather cross this morning because I was cleaning his wounds in the bath. He had no ticks on him when he came back. I have been out looking for Jack with Sunny in case he was trying to follow Sunny but couldn't make it. I have left the back gate open incase he does make it home, Thanks everyone for your help, I have to go to work, obviously, so it helps knowing others are still trying, one way or another why i am there. - Phew! Sharon, you were'nt wrong about the lanes, footpaths and fields going on for miles lol. Sadly the only furries I've seen today were rabbits, squirrels and one muntjac. I've checked bracken, holes (plenty of them!)river banks, fields, woodland and streams but it is daylight so Jack could be tucked up somewhere sound asleep. The good thing is there is plenty of food (rabbits) and plenty of places to get a drink. Unable to poster today - no ink,it should arrive tomorrow. I'm in Blackmore on Thursday so hopefuly I'll get some posters up over there then.xx
- 2012-03-20 07:54 Jo - Area Co-ordinator, Essex
- Yes I think as others have posted that the orange sand could well be very fine clay. I have noticed near me lately there is a lot of fresh badger diggings and some of that that dug out is very similar looking to orange clay. Did Sunny have any ticks on him at all when he came back?
- 2012-03-20 00:57 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- Sharon, it was me - but that Badger info was passed to me by a kind helper. I will text you again tomorrow so you'll have my number again. No worries. Can we send prayers for both dogs, everyone. Sunny can relax now and rest knowing he is safe at home, Sharon. Give him a big kiss from us. We're all still wishing and trying to get Jack home and will continue to do so. SanBarn - thank you. Ooo, that orange sand gives us hope. Some badger setts in Brentwood have water running through them - little Rupert was stuck down one a few weeks ago and he survived by drinking the water and managed to dig himself out. FB has a lot of posts about South Weald and Pilgrims Hatch missing dogs - so keep all your dogs safe whilst searching for Jack. x
- 2012-03-20 00:04 Shereen
- Hi SHARON,just a thought, when Sunny was found at home did you do another search of your garden/home area? In case Jackson is hiding somewhere close by? Maybe he was as exhausted as Sunny and tucked himself away somewhere? ..... This sand seems to make me think they were underground -
- 2012-03-19 23:26 Wallace Kennels
- Hi, Jackson has still NOT arrived at Wallace Kennels as a stray. I have reposted his details on our facebook sites with a request that all people in the Brentwood area out walking in the woods to keep an eye/ear out for him. Really pleased you got Sunny back and hopefully Jackson will be found soon. Dee @ Wallace Kennels
- 2012-03-19 22:35 SanBarn
- It may have been clay. When clay is soft and fine where it has been scratched and dug it often looks like fine orange sand in the dogs fur and stains the fur orange so Sunny could have been down a soft clay hole. xx
- 2012-03-19 22:05 SHARON GARNETT
- The man is Frank Last of Essex Badger. He seemed to be of the same mind as me that if Jack was down there I would have heard him. It is illegal to destroy a Badger sett, so that makes it pretty hard to dig anything without a noise to indicate he is in there ( i would if I had heard him tho). Jack has never come back with mud on his back. Sunny came back completely covered in orange sand. Please keep looking, it gives me so much more hope knowing there are lots of eyes watching out for him. He is a very dear little dog and we miss him so much. Thank you
- 2012-03-19 20:45 SanBarn
- I am inclined to agree, it is unusual for them to get stuck for any length of time, I will be carrying a micro shovel tomorrow, just incase! I'm sure Sunnydog will feel better after a good few days rest, whatever happened was probably a big shock to his system. xx

- hi, I am contacting the terrier on here today as he looks a bit like Jack, but it does say entire, but I will check with them anyway when they phone me back. Sorry to the lady who text me this information, I deleted your number trying to text you back by mistake. I have phoned the badger people and they are phoning me back later. He doesn't seem to think that Jack would be down the hole quiet, he said after a couple of days if they are stuck they dehydrate and become un stuck. May have been what happened to Sunnydog. He is still traumatised. Barely wagging his tail and very very sad looking, which is not him at all.
- 2012-03-19 15:16 Suzie
- Have you looked at the terrier registered on this site as found today? Could he be yours?
- 2012-03-18 23:49 SanBarn
- Yes I can do that search for you on Tuesday, I'll try and get posters up too, I say try because my printers nearly out of ink but I've got some on order.xx
- 2012-03-18 23:33 SHARON GARNETT
- Yes South Weald is near me. However I don't think they could have made it there without being seen. I have put up posters there to be sure and checked but more for people to see so they look out where ever they are. You can go cross country out the back of my house for miles. I believe he is underground close, or has travelled far towards Blackmore across country, farmers fields, etc. Thats why no one has seen him. He never came back before as if he had been down a hole, always chasing rabbits, dear etc. overground. I would appreciate it if you could search the fields, footpaths from pilgrims Hatch towards Blackmore, Thank you

- South Weald park - is that anywhere near you? A number of terrier type dogs being stolen in broad daylight from this location. We need to make them all too hot to handle. SanBan I have advised owner of your help - much obliged to you. x

- Also we have been up in a micro light to try and find our dog you can see very clear
- 2012-03-18 17:47 SanBarn
- I've been in Weald park for most of the day, I've seen some posters and I've put some more around. I've spoken to many dog walkers and people just out for a stroll and lot's of them are aware that Jack is missing. I've checked as many holes and bramble areas as I could (it's a big park) but couldn't find any evidence of disturbance, I also checked streams and lakes. There are a lot of farm type buildings in outlaying areas and these may be well worth a visit. I have a free day on Tuesday so please let me know if you need me to target a specific area. xx
- 2012-03-18 13:43 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- Thank you 08. Make your JR way too hot to handle. You are doing well. This is what I was wondering with these two. Maybe someone felt a twang of conscience and returned Sunny. Who knows? Have just heard of a number of dogs being stolen in the Brentwood, Braintree, Wickford area by men in a white van, including it appears Pip, also registered on here. So please be vigilant out there and band together and speak to police if you know anything. There are a lot of Badger Setts in Brentwood area too, so I am hoping that is where these two have been. Badger setts often contain ticks, so if Sunny had some ticks then that would confirm this. We need to cover all our bases with Jackson. x
- 2012-03-18 07:06 08svm08
- I am in the Doncaster area,we fear travellers may have our jack Russell doing everything possible though
- 2012-03-18 06:58 Spindle
- Sounds like they have been down a hole to me. When one that is home is well enough get him on extending lead and harness and he may lead you to the other. Be aware if gone to ground often come out hole further away from the one they went down. Good luck.Last edited: 2012-03-18 06:59:19 by Spindle

- Sharon, as you had that ad in paper, maybe they would now run a little article on your fur babies because you have one home, and also the condition he was found in. I mean really, his condition is a mystery, so paper may like to run with that. You need to cover all your bases as you just ever know. 08svm08, I am so sorry to hear that too. The pair of you have my love and prayers. Keep postering and making your furry babes too hot to handle, and well publicised. Someone somewhere has seen them, or will see them, at some point. 08 what area are you? xxx

- Hi I am in a similar situation with my dogs they are two brothers that escaped together but only one came back, which never happens, I will keep my fingers crossed for you as I am in the same horrible situation x

- Thank you for posting Sharon. I have texted you yet again! Let's find Jackson. x
- 2012-03-17 19:41 SHARON GARNETT
- Thanks. Sunny was found flat out in the garden at 5.30am. I thought I was dreaming. We walked for hours the day before doing the scent thing with a nice smelly blanket that all the dogs had been with, and the other thing that was advised. Sunny returned. So we done it all again in slightly different areas for Jack. No sightings yet. Sunny was dehydrated, exhausted, depressed, lame and has numerous bites on him. He has been to the vets and as he will drink I was able to bring him home and give him electrolytes.
He has not moved all day, only when I pick him up and move him. I only hope Jack has not been bitten and hurt as he is a bit old for all that and a bit of a wimp. I appreciate all your help. I am gutted that Jack still missing in the cold but so grateful that I have Sunny. - 2012-03-17 19:38 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- Sunny is okay, but had to go to Vets because he has been injured. Owner advised he has been bitten a few times and can't walk at the moment because his back leg is bad, but they don't think its broken. Two things come to mind - badger setts (hoping) or other dogs and he's got into a nasty squabble. PLEASE help make Jackson way too hot to handle, just in case someone has him! We really need to find him now. Thank you. x

I am a dog walker and one of my charges is a Parson JRT so I'm well aware how much they love holes and hunting! xx
- 2012-03-17 12:24 Shereen
- im wondering if Sunny looked like he had been down a hole? are his claws damaged at all?,he could be taken out on the search and may give you some clues...if you think he could of been down a hole you could check the ones you looked at before, but take a long piece of plumbing pipe (Plastic about an inch wide)and stick it down the hole as far as it will go without clogging it up,and put your ear to it and listen...it will amplify any sound down there.hope to see Jackson home very soon safe and sound.XLast edited: 2012-03-17 12:26:45 by Shereen

- Jackson's brother Sunny has got back home. We don't know if he got there byhimself or if he was dumped back there. But he is home, so now we really need to find Jackson. I am bumping a bit due to Sunny's return, as these dogs are connected. x

- Attn: DogLost can anyone get the two photos on one poster for me, please? Thank you. xxx
- 2012-03-15 22:25 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- I am emailing owner now with info and advice. Did you see anything odd in the area; any vehicles hanging about? Two things to check: are there any railways near by; are there any travellers nearby? When one of them barked, what could be seen? Something has happened to stop them returning - think of everything that could have happened and work thru them one by one. Do check the fields for any holes as Shereen said, just in case. Take a look at Molly's page CM13 ID 32312, now in the blue reunited tab. She was taken not far from you, but owner worked incredibly hard and got her home. Read her page and take your cue from that, just to cover all your bases. Make your two babies way too hot to handle. Right now, we don't know what has happened but I want you to poster everywhere, and get as much media attention as you possibly can and as quick as you can. If there are railways you need to poster the station and the area and check the lines as close as possible just to rule it out, okay? But remember to stay safe yourself and do not go on the lines. Speak to the farmers and let them know who to call - leave your posters with every farm/cottage/house near those fields. Poster the Brentwood Centre and all over town. Poster the travellers sites. If someone should ring and say they have your dogs, do not part with money unless you actually see your dogs. If you don't see them, that particular person does not have them. Okay? If you do get any calls, or sightings, let us know asap. If they are still on the loose they will try and get home so leave something that smells of home in the area they went missing from. I'm having trouble with my computer so if you don't receive my emails tonight, you will receive them tomorrow morning from my work computer. Let me know if you don't - I'm going to text you. Do the scenting bit where they were lost. Your mission is to make them so famous, they get back home. You CAN do it! Good luck and we are here to help. Post on here and others will post back. You have great people in this area on your side. Let's get your babies home! x

- Sharon, I've just told Phoenix and they have put it on their facebook. Hopefully they'll read it out and keep an eye out too as they are now based at Brentwood Centre.
- 2012-03-15 21:21 SHARON GARNETT
- No I am not sure if they have not gone down any badgers holes, but I have checked the ones I know. They haven't disappeared down them before though. I also do not know what route they took, but they went very quickly as my husband checked minutes after they had gone and heard one of them bark, then nothing. They must have shot off together very quickly. Although they are both neutered they were both mono orchid and had one testicle inside. I think they may act a little entire. They had just come back from a walk. If you know of any bitches in heat they could have been on a scent? But other than that I can't begin to guess what happened. They are happy little dogs and had a very nice life with us really are part of the family, I can't believe they haven't come back.
- 2012-03-15 19:51 Karen&Louis
- Any clues to what route they may take? I'll happily help you look and spread the word as much as I can. Went for a drive to see if I could see but nothing and some friends were also looking. I've alerted PH cllrs and my dog walking friends. Keep us updated, we will all keep looking. Saw lots of posters which is good. Karen Chilvers
- 2012-03-15 18:58 Shereen
- Are you sure these two havnt gone down a Rabbit/Badger hole? that would explain why there have been no sightings
- 2012-03-15 18:40 SHARON GARNETT
- Jackson and my other dog Sunny escaped from my garden on 14.3.12. We have looked everywhere local. We cant find them. No one has seen them. They may have gone towards Doddinghurst or Blackmore as the crow flies as there is lots of fields. I expected them to drag there naughty selves home and sat by the back door all night. But I have spent all day looking today and nothing.
