I have emailed the missing poster to the Ross Gazette and will do that same with the hereford times when I've spoken to them. I've posted in Jack of All Russells Society which is a facebook group, will try just about anything at the moment. What I cant understand is that there has not been ONE single sighting confirmed or unconfirmed. Its like they've never existed but they very much did :-(.... .I'm starting to lose hope :-( :-(
chillibean
Haha you posted that just as I had posted mine. Thnx again muchly.
chillibean
Hi there, I know, I set up the found page for them because I had a call this morning from a lady who'd got my number off the dog warden (I'd given it to them after another lead on Weds) but sadly they're not my Freddie and Dusty :-( just shows tho people are keeping an eye out and info is being linked back which proves how vital it is to spread the word wide. Thank you so much for thinking of my two x

Hi Chillibean.

That is terrible that there mum went missing too. Alot of dog thefts from where I live tend to be for either selling on or for breeding. I always make sure my dogs are neutured then that way if they realise they cannot have pups they usually let them go and then sometimes I have known the owners sixmonths down the line to get them back. My cousins little jack russell got stolen, she was the runt of the litter. We new who had stolen her but he denied everythign and then he past ehr on to another breeder, Unfortunately we never got her back, she was never microchipped. please keep me informed.

I remember your lovely Judy chillibean, it's so sad that she has never been found. At least you know that D and F are still out there somewhere. I'll send their details to the magazine for an advert today, it should be published in two weeks time and will get them extra media coverage if they're still missing by then.

RIP little one who didn't make it home XX
chillibean
Hi lplugo, at least you can tell your friend that the other one was ok, must have been so very upsetting to see. Yes I will of course keep you posted and very grateful for any help. I do think they could have been taken, yes. I think its uncommon for two dogs to go missing without a trace unless there's a persons(s) behind it. We very sadly lost Freddie & Dusty's mum 4 years ago (Registered also on here as Judy) she had given birth to pups 3 weeks earlier and was taken from the end of our lane, we live in a very rural location but there was a speight of dog thefts at that time, we never got her back :-(, it just seems like deja vous and another living nightmare. x
lplugo
hi chillibean, that was no trouble at all. Il keep looking for your two on the found section, do you think now they might have been taken? Im glad the lady got reunited with the one that didnt get hurt. cos I had visions of that one being run over too. I do hope you find them please let me know if and when you do. xxx

**NEWS** - I called Cardiff City Council and explained about our Dusty & Freddie and that a report had come via DogLost of a pair of JRT's on the M4 on Thursday 29th, this was indeed the case and she remembered it clearly as coincidentally she used to work with the lady whose dogs they were. They were chipped to her name and address. The remaining dog has been re-united with it's owner. This is still very sad news for the poor lady who's lost one of her dogs but this does give fresh hope for my two little monkeys. Please please keep them in your mind!! And thank you so much to lplugo and her friend who took the time to look on here x

hi molly chops my friend has got bback to me and she cant remember the exact spot herself but her partner is out at the moment and going to ask him hen he gets in but you are right it could be the M50 as they would have had to turn off onto there to get to swansea, they might not remember the exact location as their thoughts might have been more on the dogs than the location where they were, what is your number i cant see it?
Mollychops
ive just got in from work and seen this. Ive spoken with Chillibean , after googling the area , it has to be the M50 only, the other motorways, certainly the M4 is too far awway. Chillibean has contacted local vets abd its tweeting and doing FB in Ross area.Ive suggested postering the services on this small bit of motorway, and putting something in the local paper, Chilli has a friend who works on the paper which is great. Ive suggested, walking the fields below the motorway if at all possible , on the area nearest to where they went from, as its not far, in the meantime owner has asked me to find out specifically who is responsible for this motorway regarding maintenace , police etc. I will do this first thing tomorrow. w e need to find out ASAP where this exact spot these dogs were seen Ipulgo please can you ring me asap, my number will be with head office, Thanks xxLast edited: 2012-04-03 20:55:45 by Mollychops

hi , ive just left a message with my friend to see if she can pinpiont where it where, she was telling me becasue im a dog lover and volunteer for a dog rescue, she sai a car swerved in front of them and they realised why, just at the side of the road was 2 small jack russells, one had been hit and the other one was yapping at its side, she was very upset but couldnt stop, she said they were distinctive brown faces and very pretty. i thought id have a look on here to see if there were 2 JR missing and came across these little mites. one mught have got picked up on the motorway, how far is the motorway from where they went missing.
chillibean
Hi Owl, thnx for your call..... We've spoken to the Highway Agency who say if the dogs are chipped then we would have had a call..... That was about as helpful as he could be..... lplugo - Can you by any chance ask your friend to get in touch with me so I can pinpoint exactly where this was? I'd be very very grateful if he/she could spare a moment of their time to spk with me on the phone. So bittersweet, if this is Dusty and Freddie then one of them has gone but we've found the other, and if it isn't, then back to square one.... :-(
DogLostOwl
Thank you lplugo. I have just called to pass the message on and have advised owner to get in touch with the motorway authorities.
lplugo
hi have these two dogs been found? my frined was on her way to swansea from sheffield and when they were on the motorway M4- OR M5 Near ROSS ON WYE on thursday last week. there were two jack russells, one had been knocked over near the hard shoulder and the other one was by its side, the location of where they were lost is compatible of the route my friend was taking and they had brown faces simulare to the description of what they looked like. I really hope you find them both safe and well
chillibean
Hi Phebe, thank you for talking to me, it was very helpful. I just do not know where to begin though with the woodland, there are quite literally hundreds of holes. I took a friend up there who has a small JRT also (on a lead for obvious reasons!!) but all thistle was interested in was sniffing at one or two holes but likely to be because she smelt rabbits not because she scented another dog. Just so hard to know what to do.
DogLostOwl
Hi chillibean, it's Phebe here who you spoke with on phone. You have to look at all possibilities so while broadening the search please don't stop searching locally. It's not just a question of one getting stuck, sometimes a terrier can go down somewhere it can't jump out of.Last edited: 2012-04-01 11:43:29 by Owl

Thanks for tweeeting Riverlady, sorry yesterday didnt bring any news Chillibean, yes I think you are right now to start broadening the search. Start postering further afield. Our wonderful Sue has put these two forwards for our column in the Countrymans Weekly which will be out soon.
DogLostRiverlady
Have tweeted links to @RossGazette @VisitRossonwye @ILove_rossonwye.
chillibean
Update: Have spent all day in the woods close to where they have been picked up before, absolutely rife with rabbit holes and tried listening in but where on earth do you start? Even if they were down there, it's a maze beyond belief and I honestly don't know how or where you'd begin. Following this I called the master of our local hunt for advice, he seems to say similar to others I have spoken to which is that it is highly unusual for two dogs to get stuck/lost down holes die to the fact that their normal working pattern is for one to go to ground whilst the other works the surface area.... Also if one did get stuck, the other will help to dig it out. Basically for not even one of them to come home after 12 days is highly unusual. The other thing is that IF they were both stuck down a hole they couldn't get out of, by 2 or 3 days, they would have shed enough weight to be able to fit back through any tight tunnels and thus free themselves by losing weight. He thinks the most likely scenario is that they have been picked up....... So will be hot on the poster distributing and back on the phones to all dog wardens and shelters tmrw.

Ive spoken to owners tonight, They have been alerted by a neighbour who had heard barking around the time these monkeys went missing. His land has a very distictive orange coloured mud , and these teo have come back before covered in it. There are lots of rabbit holes here, and owners are searching this area tomorrow , Good luck and fingers crossed !
Mollychops
bumped as photos are on now , will reqest email alerts go out

Have tonight spoken to a chap from the Terrier Club who's given me a number of a lady who uses a pointer for tracking but is sadly not well enough to help with the search. Mum has been out in the woods again today. Have left a message for a girl I know in the hunt to ask about Terrier Man who may be able to help. 11 Days now :-( :-( :-(
Mollychops
Rang owners tonight again requesting photos, no new today of these two
Mollychops
photos requested and email advice sheets sent. These two have almost definatley gone to ground, Ive suggested asking local hunt terrier man to see if he can help
