Oh what a shame it wasn't George !! I presume she was really certain that the found dog was intact ? X Last edited: 2012-04-16 22:02:54 by Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire

Just to let you know I had a call from the asda staff member who had the black dog.

She had taken it to the police station but there was no one there so she brought it back and a man took him and said he'd contact strayaid.

The dog she had was an intact male so it wasn't George but she said he looked very similar to the photo.

So no joy there x

Hi KERRYSHOME the Asda store must have a staff canteen, rest room or staff notice board and it would be a good idea if you make a notice saying you have reports that members of staff picked up a similar dog to George on 10 th April and that you need to find out what happened to this dog afterwards. Then ask a member of management or team leader if they will display the notice in one of these staff areas. Don't just leave it with a cashier or at the cigarette kiosk though as it may get forgotten about. I hope you have some news of George very soon x

Thanks for updating.
If this area falls within the remit of a different dog warden then report George to them as well. The person who picked up the dog may have told the dog warden they were happy to look after him until his owner came forward.
they may also use different holding kennels.
As you said ensure you poster the area. The manager of the store may be able to tell you who was the duty manager or supervisor on the day/ time he was possibly sighted and picked up. They may then be able to give you more information.
they may also have CCTV
Also check with the vets around the area in case he was taken to any of them.
If he has been picked up for safe keeping he should be reported to the dog warden as is required by LAW
Fingers crossed that George is home very soon

possible sighting at Asda Peterlee on Tues evening 10th April.
Dog fitting George's description was picked up by Asda staff, no one sure what happened to him after that.

Thanks to all keeping their eye out x

Have spoken to the owner.Photo requested.
George escaped from the garden yesterday early evening by jumping over a wall. He is wearing a collar with ID tag with owners contact details and is microchipped.
Owner has contacted the microchip company and all relevant authorities.
George is around 5 years old and is a rescue dog.He is normally walked on the lead as he has a history of running off.
Fingers crossed this much loved family pet is home soon

Sorry to see that GEORGE is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (38338)

  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
