- I am just so so gutted and sad for you both. May you both find some comfort in the knowledge that at least you had got him back rather than never knowing what had happened to him.

- I am so grateful to everyone for all their help over the past few weeks. Charlotte and I are devastated to report that unfortunately Max has been found and has sadly passed away. Not a better friend will we ever find. We are so thankful for the love and community spirit that everyone has shown us, and it has given us a bit more faith in humanity which so many times is criticised. We will miss Max like mad.

- Hi or even Tim & Charlotte if you want me to pick up some posters etc from you please feel free to give me a call on mobile.
- 2012-04-12 08:59 ClaireC
- Hi Denise, hope your dog is a bit better now. Perhaps you could give me a ring on 07887652916. I can help you target some other areas if you need some help? I am free most of today.
- 2012-04-12 08:42 denise
- Are you having waterproof posters printed? If you could give me some to put up it would be good to spread the word. Mix 96 did Quigley so this would be an idea for Max too. Is there other areas now to spread out to with posters or even flyers through doors, what about Dinton and Haddenham? Let the pubs know too.
- 2012-04-11 22:17 ClaireC
- Have you thought about asking Mix 96 (local radio station) to put out details of Max. Tel No 01296 393396. They are usually pretty good about putting out usually twice a day.

- Hi did a tour around some parts of Stoke Mandeville, Bishopstone,Marsh, Ford & Kimble this morning. Spoke to some people who work at the 2 units near Travellers Site and left a poster just in case they see Max. Spoke to some builders who knew about him and said they were always on the lookout. Put a couple of posters up along Bishopstone way. It did occur to me that although as you are coming from Bishopstone over railway bridge I assume you have turned left as there is a poster at the bottom, I turned right and it could possibly do with a few down that lane. Sorry by this time I had finished putting mine up and ran out! Could be a thought if anybody going that way tomorrow. Has anybody enquired at the Travellers Site as yet?Last edited: 2012-04-11 13:39:53 by ClaireC

- I'm not that familiar with this area, but I know that across the fields from Bishopstone there is Ford village with a biggish industrial estate on a former mushroom farm - some people working there take their own dogs to the industrial est and it's also a dog walking route. Worth calling in there and postering if any one is able.
- 2012-04-10 19:30 ClaireC
- Hi, have you enquired down at the Travellers Site at Bishopstone by any chance? There are also a couple of little car mechanic places there and whilst I did enquire last week from one of them what about a poster down there as well. I can put some down there tomorrow. As a further thought once the travelling fraternity children see the posters they will be on the phone to you just to make you aware. Also, as you have postered Stoke Mand. direction it may be good idea to contact Rail network as he would have had to have crossed the rail line. Thinking of other places, what about Tiggywinkles - who knows somebody up there may have seen him and I do know my local vet works up there some evenings and somebody may have mentioned seeing Max thinking he is a stray. Will be out and about area tomorrow looking.Last edited: 2012-04-10 19:44:03 by ClaireC

- Thank you so much for continuing to look for Max. We have had a long weekend out and about looking still but no further news. Placed posters and had announcements made at the Kimble point to point, but no response so far. We have placed further posters in the Stoke Mandeville area in case Max has walked on from Bishopstone in that direction. If anyone is able to go out looking perhaps this is the best target area? Thanks again everyone.
- 2012-04-09 17:42 ClaireC
- Went all over the same places and then went all over them again! Spoke to a runner and a few walkers around Bishopstone area but they hadn't seen anything. Another man who was sat reading his paper in an entrance to a field in blue transit van nr Kimblewick hadn't seen anything but took tel number just in case. Can go out tomorrow afternoon if you would like me to target any particular area. Please let me know.

- Hi Timaxe have been out and about in Dinton, Eythrope,(spoke to a lady dog waker here and she will keep an eye out and suggested that if she sees Max to call the dog warden) Stone, Haddenham, Ford, Owlswick (again) likewise Meadle, Bishopstone and Marsh. I left you a voice message to say that in Marsh at some pre-fabricated chalet type bungalows Stable Farm I spoke to an old lady who apparently has lived there for 20 years and has a GSD and JRT she said her GSD was going berserk early hours of this morning towards the back fields as opposed to railway line frontage. She hasn't seen any dogs around but it is a thought for you as not too far away. Best way to describe the area is coming from Gt Kimble past White Swan Pub before you go under railway bridge bear left onto Bishopstone & Marsh. Which then means the railway line will be on your right just down the road on the left hand side are these pre-fab chalet type bungalows. If you were to head on further down the lane you would arrive at the T Junction with Prince of ? Pub house. Hope this helps with directions if you decide to go out and about that way or indeed any of the "walkers". I am now away for the Easter but will look eagerly at this page on my return and hope to see Max in the "Blue". Good luck.Last edited: 2012-04-04 18:52:34 by ClaireC

- Hi Timaxe Hampden Vet Hosp Tel No is 01296 423666. My husband and I have walked from Wendover and have done the Aylesbury Ring. So sorry have not seen your dog or indeed any dogs today. My be an idea to keep an eye on the Travellers site at Bishopstone just in case your dog has made it down there especially as Meadle is not that far.
- 2012-04-03 17:18 Dinton Dog Walker
- Hi, My name is Diana Merry and I am the Dinton Dog Walker. On Friday afternoon (30th of March) there was a young man late twenties / early thirties with brown hair & moustache walking a young black labrador outside Dinton Church on the road towards Ford. I know all the dogs & owners in Dinton, there are several black labs, but I never saw this man & black lab before. It may be nothing but thought it worth mentioning. I will keep an eye out and have circulated your search poster amongst my clientele & various other people. I sincerely hope you find Max. Hamden Vet Hospital wondered whether Max is microchipped, might be worth contacting them. Kind regards, Diana - Dinton Dog Walker
- 2012-04-03 16:54 denise
- Hi, I live in Meadle very near to Ford.On Sunday I was just going out for a walk and saw a man with a red setter going up my road and a black lab (very friendly) went up to him. We have quite a few black labs in our village so didn't think much about it and it may of been one of them, I didn't know about Max then. The man, I think looked at his collar (did Max have his collar on?) I didn't recognise the man with the setter but if I see him again I will ask about it. I am always looking out for Quigley and Teddy so will also look for Max.
- 2012-04-03 00:23 Ruth
- It might be a good idea to send alerts to HP14 too. I'm in that postcode area and only about 8 miles from Ford.
- 2012-04-02 19:28 ClaireC
- Hi shereen, there are quite a few farms in that area as well. I hope the owners have contacted the various farms just in case Max is seenin any of them.
- 2012-04-02 17:50 Shereen
- Timaxe as you are from a farm, please please would you look between all hay and Straw bales and even under them!...dogs dont always bark when their stuck they go quiet...we recently had a dog found months later sadly where he had fallen down between bales then dug under them so there was no way of getting out : (

- Hi, I've been out most of the time since this morning. I have driven around (very slowly) from back roads of Stoke Mandeville thro' to Marsh, Owlswick onto Ford and back around down to Haddenham and back again to Bishopstone. Stopped and observed Travellers Site at Bishopstone and nothing to report on any of these places. Then went on to Terrick. My husband and I will be out walking most of tomorrow starting from Wendover and heading towards Ellesborough, Butlers Cross, Cadsden, Kimble areas.
- 2012-04-02 11:25 Timaxe
- Max was last seen in Ford near Aylesbury. Our farm is in between Aylesbury and Princess Risborough/ Haddenham areas. There have been no sightings yet unfortunately - we are still out looking for him and hope he comes home soon.
- 2012-04-02 09:57 ClaireC
- Hi NickyJ rather a large area isn't it to try to cover on foot without knowing exactly where Max went missing from! However will go out later on and have a look around.
- 2012-04-02 09:49 ClaireC
- Hi Timaxe, if you don't get Max back by weekend there are a couple of shows coming up ie Point to Point at Kimble and Thame Country Show, what about postering there. It maybe that Doglost are putting on a stall to display posters of lost dogs in this area maybe as suggested by someone. You could email to ask about the possibility as a suggestion. I do sincerely hope that you do get your boy back before then as indeed all the other missing ones. Good Luck. I will be out and about this afternoon in the areas that I said below.Last edited: 2012-04-02 09:58:18 by ClaireC
