She was found just a few hours after we lost her, apparently in the Cove Road/Fleet Road area. They didn't even scan her and only located us through this site. Her identity tag with my number on was missing, but surely scanning her would've reunited us sooner? Just glad she's back with Luna and the rest of the family. Thanks again for all your support and help, Keita is now enjoying her walks on a very long lead
twiglet84
Thank God!! I went to Fleet pond and along the canal today, where was she found?
Trish at K9 Dreams
Great news, Good girl Keita. Do you know where she was found ??
Gillian
I'm so pleased to hear she's home and it's great to know people will help when needed.

That's great news, I'm so pleased:)) Stay close next time Keita!

Brilliant news.....stay safe and no more running off:)))
Ivan
Keita is now back home, the dog warden called this morning and we collected her this afternoon. Thank you so much to all of you, this is a great network and it's one that we will now be involved with to help others find their dogs.

This is just a thought and you may have done this, but is it possible that she is caught up in the new fencing and maybe worth walking the fencing. I'm going out now to have a look on my way to work.
twiglet84
Hi all, I'll be at Fleet pond tomorrow lunchtime with the usual crew. We will keep an eye out, but I'll go along the canal in the afternoon. There are lots of places for her to bed down there. Ivan, be positive. We recently lost a very nervous greyhound for five days. She was seen running along a main road, and the only way we could catch her was to rugby tackle the poor thing!

Hi Ivan
I think we all know how you feel, having an animal go missing is one of the worst feelings. Keep positive, I'm sure she'll turn up soon. If anyone wants to coordinate a search, or posters taken anywhere during the day it's easier to contact me either through our website www.ssanimalcare.co.uk or safeandsoundac@gmail.com. I'm happy to go wherever if I'm free.
Ivan
I'm overwhelmed by the support and help from everyone on here and facebook too, I can't thank you enough. I'm going to try and put posters up over the Foresters woods, she could easily have crossed the road near the canal and got into those woods, I really thought we'd have a sighting over the weekend and we're trying not to get too down hearted, I will certainly put posters along the canal too. If you could call her name now and again, you never know, she may appear, she's a really friendly dog especially with other dogs. Once again, thank you all for your brilliant support. Ivan

I can get over there tomorrow but it won't be until after 4pm, if that's any good?
If not, I'll have another wander, someone must have seen her somewhere. Haven't spoken to Nokia, may also be worth telling the DERA and giving them some posters? just thinking about the number of staff who would drive into work that way. Let me know if you want me to contact Railtrack or anyone else.Last edited: 2012-04-02 19:40:50 by safeandsoundanimalcare

Sorry she is missing. This is not my area, so don't want to interfere but I am giving you the number for railtrack 08457 114141.

I walked around the top end of the field today and out into the woods where the disused army training camp is (towards Kennel Lane),sadly no sign. Twiglet84, I would be happy to help search tomorrow, has anyone mentioned it to the people on the gate at the Nokia building ?? She could have got over to there. I could go & give them the details tomorrow if it helps.
twiglet84
Thinking about it, is it worth getting a crew together tomorrow to do some more targetted searching? Maybe going along the canal, and into the woods around Fleet pond? Could she have gotten into the fields where the livestock are and not be able to get out?
twiglet84
Have spread the word at Calthorpe Park this evening, I spoke to a lady who works at the vet on Courtmoor Road so she is aware too. Keeping my fingers crossed for you
safeandsoundanimalcare
Have had a quick walk round, and stopped everybody I came across, but no sightings. Has anyone postered the golf course? Will try and get back out there tomorrow, doing rabbit therapy in Fleet so can drive that way.

Well done everyone and thanks for sharing...anyone on Twitter...if so press the share button and make more peeps aware....did not realise what an active crew we have in that area...as thankfully not too many dogs go missing...
twiglet84
Thanks for the info, I went for a walk at Fleet pond today and saw all the posters you have put up. Lots of people are aware and keeping an eye out, we covered the open area and the surrounding woods and unfortunately saw nothing. Have you postered along the canal? I know the woods backs onto it and if she got onto it she could go quite far

Will put a poster up in the shop tomorrow (not in work today)and tell everybody to keep a look out.Fingers crossed she is home soon.
Ivan
Just want to thank you all for your help, it's really appreciated. We've put posters up now so hoping others will keep an eye out.

Keita's details are now all around Farnborough and Fleet; getting loads of text messages from people who have shared them so fingers crossed someone sees her. I'll take a drive and walk round there tomorrow.
Trish at K9 Dreams
I walk in that area regularly and have just driven up and around the Ively Rd/Kennel lane area to have a look. I have put the word out to everyone I know who walks around there. I will be walking there tomorrow & will keep an eye out. Good luck, hope she comes home soon.
Gillian
Hi,
I've emailed fleet Petpals and a friend who walks there. Hubby is out now walking the dogs, he'll walk cove brook, southwood golf course and the football field.

Twiglet84:
You know where they recently cut down all the trees? it was down that end where the Harvester is. I usually park in the car park near the railway line off fleet Road and we then walk down towards the Harvester end and back round, but both dogs headed off towards Ively Road and after looking and calling the for nearly an hour, one of them came back through the woods that lead to Kennels Lane, Southwood. So, Keita could be anywhere from the Fleet pond area to the southwood area and even I guess up towards the Basingstoke canal, any help is greatly appreciated as my other husky is clearly missing her.
I'm going to put posters up tomorrow morning over there. Also, thanks Steve for looking

Have shared, and I meet a few people to walk at Fleet pond during the week so will spread the word and keep an eye out myself. Any chance of a more specific account of what happened? ie. where was she lost?
Steve J
Went for a walk by the Pond (Sun 01/04)and some of the tracks and meadows but no sighting. Will keep looking around local dog walking haunts and on travels in local area. Lets hope she turns up soon.
