Hey guys, I'm the one who posted Lucy up, a women came to me a couple of months ago with Lucy saying her friend has asked her to rehome her as her current owner had been rushed into hospital due to a premature birth with her baby and the doctors had said that the baby would be in and out of hospital a lot so they made the call to rehome her, the women who was looking after her contacted me asking me to help so a friend of mine took her on and fostered her off her own back and found her a new home with a contract set in place, they contacted us 2 weeks ago saying we had to get her as they couldnt keep her due to a marriage break down, the husband then emailed me saying he wanted to keep her as he couldnt bare to let her go so I said okay. We then got a message saying she had to go, I found her somewhere to go and was about to text her owners telling them when they texted lucys fosterer, my friend and said that her husband had simple "opened the front door and let her out!" she said she looked for 4 hours trying to find her. I contacted the wardens and left messages and also kennels but they hadnt got her. Sundown Kennels is where Lucy was taken too she had walked a good couple of miles as Sundown isn't a local pound to where she lived, Sundown Kennels rang me at ten to 10 saying they had her and she was safe, hungry and thirsty but otherwise healthy, We put out a appeal to cover the cost of £101 which has been donated. A friend is going to pick Lucy up tomorrow morning and keep her with her until her new forever home is found but we will be very picky!

Just want to thank DogsLost for being so great if it wasnt for you the kennels wouldnt of known to contact me!

I thought this girl was rehomed by a rescue? £101 is rather steep for 1 night!

Maybe best to leave it on here for now in case anyone wants to donate any money.

This little lady was picked up by the dog wardens earlier today & is safe for the night. She's in a local pound & the lady that started the appeal is trying to raise the money to get her out.xx

Good luck Witchy-poos I do hope you find her. x

It appears that this little girl was let out of the front door deliberately as the owner wanted to get rid of her & didn't want to wait for a rescue space. It also appears that the dog originally came from a rescue as it is pictured on the FB page in 'foster care'. FB page here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/283170941757684/ has some more info & also says that the wife of the owner who let her out has been looking for her all day.
I'm in the direct area (about 10 mins walk away) and will be in the area shortly searching. Hopefully she'll be spotted & brought in soon.xxxLast edited: 2012-04-02 21:14:44 by Witchy-poos

Can I ask who reported Lucy missing? Was it the people coming to pick her up? I hope they have the names of her owners so that they can be held accountable if something has happened to her.

I do hope that the little Girl is found safe, will someone be prosecuting the stupid owners?
