Hope he passes the assessment and goes to rescue! Seems he needs some stability in his life, poor boy!

just been speaking with Jonfiz - this is now sorted with a contact of Sioux - fingers crossed that he is a good boy and help can be got for him
Jonfiz
Friends of Akitas have asked to assess him with a view to calling their fosterers and contacts for a place but have been told by the kennels they can't assess him, they need to do this to place him in the environment that is right for him. Angus could you try with the kennels to see if they will allow this thanksLast edited: 2012-05-04 12:49:39 by Jonfiz

posted all of the Akita rescues should hear back soon

Still in kennels and still waiting - may need help from breed rescue
Jonfiz
owners haven't claimed this boy although they are aware of where he is, so now looking for home or rescue space. Apparently he keeps getting out as the garden fence is broken!!Last edited: 2012-04-12 14:31:53 by Jonfiz

any news on this boy?
Jonfiz
I'm pleased to hear his owners have been located but sad that they cannot raise the fees to get him back, why oh why did they not tag him after he got out the first time. Plus how has he managed to escape again!! Its such a shame as he looks a beautiful boy, if I had a bigger house I would have him like a shot and he wouldn't be going off on his own for a walk!!
I have updated my posts of the JAWT ARW facebook pages to reflect what is happening so hopefully one way or the other he will be sortedLast edited: 2012-04-05 13:13:09 by Jonfiz

oh no Angus, i completely agree with you, every dog should be tag and microchipped and really every dog should have a secure garden too...
although in my area i know that dogs with tags and microchips have been picked up and taken to the kennels anyway, and owner's charged to get them back
i think there needs to be a general ovehaul of the system and laws regarding dogs really, don't even get me started on the dangerous dogs act..!

It is very sad emmalouise - BUT it is totally avoidable - this dog went missing a couple of weeks ago too - thanks to quick reactions from MK DL helpers he was captured and returned to owner - he escapes again this week - he was NOT wearing a tag - If he had of been the finder coulkd have returned him to his owner rather than having to call the collection service (MK does not have a proper dog warden service anymore so it is collection only when secured by member of the public) - He was microchipped but details were to a previous owner. Owners have let this dog down by not tagging him and updating his chip details - I am sorry if this comment upsets people but I visit the kennels every week and it saddens me to see so many dogs with out a £2 tag on their collar stuck in kennels because owners understandably can't raise the fine when times are tight Last edited: 2012-04-05 09:07:05 by Angus

how sad if they can't, this seems to be happening all the time it's such a shame that a dog with a home ends up looking for another because of money
DogLostAngus
thanks Jonfiz - owners have been located for this one but are struggling with the kennel fines - he may need rescue place if the cannot get him out - this is his second escaped in 2 weeks
