so switching to reunited. suggested get him chipped ASAP - 2012-04-10 21:08 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders

- If only more councils an used this site - BATTERSEA often check and reunite from details we have. If councils started following their example im sure many more dogs would be reunited quickly.
ASK your councils to use this site
ALSO
everyone whose dog is not chipped- give them an easter pressie that will last all their life.
With a chip Leo would not have gone to kennels but reinited much quicker. - 2012-04-10 14:21 Battersea
- It depends if we have space at Battersea, so many wardens have their own kennels so they don't need to come to us. They should always be reported to us though.

- I am so pleased Leo has been located. As a local person it is also good to have this extra info about Southwark. I was under the impression that all London found dogs went to Battersea. It is so hard to get info sometimes you have to be a right Miss Marple or Mr Poirot to find out where they are when it happens on a weekend or bank holiday. Well done everyone x

- Oh, I am so pleased! So hope he gets a chip now too. Good work CJ, as always. You'd think Southwark would know better!

- Woodlands is well known to us and many dogs from wardens go there if no space anywhere else. Glad to hear that leo has been located though!

- seems woodlands is at Sundridge Road,
Chevening,
Nr. Sevenoaks but not heard of those kennels and would never have dreamt to advise that far away. why they never used battersea or something nearer- ?? - 2012-04-10 10:29 CJ - Police Liaison & SE Regional Coordinator
- Been speaking with owner then texting advice and places i thought of not there but now HE HAS BEEN LOCATED!!
text from owners so will not reunite till i get the word from owner. He has been at woodlands and owner has also had a call from DW to arrnge collection plus make payment. Expect that will be 4 days which if they had a better council system and the call centre had acess to where dogs were then owners and dogs could be reunited much quicker. Also to be able to confirm that this was LEO would also have been nice but seems the southwark council system fails owners and dogs !! - 2012-04-08 22:01 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- Thank you Angus, have texted owner.

- It seems Leo was taken by finder to police in Southwark but he does not know where he has been passed on to? Advised dog wardens may not be working over Easter but to call all local council's and kennels and pounds and leave message if no answer. Also advised him to contact Battersea as they may know. Not my area so I'm a bit lost as to the actual kennels etc that are used here. Also, should ask police who collected him from them? Problem is this baby is not chipped or tagged, so we need to let all kennels know. Hopefully when dog warden comes back Tuesday, everything will be okay, but we can't wait - we have to keep working now. Asked owner to keep us posted.

- Owners have received my text. Thank goodness. :-)

- I've tried to ring owners, but not answering. It is very possible Leo is still in the area if he got out on his own. Maybe they need to leave the gate open and maybe check neighbours gardens in case he's shut in. I haven't received any contact back, wonder if its the correct number? Will keep trying.

- I have emailed the poster to Battersea anyway. Here is the link to Lambeth's council's lost dog page with all the numbers on it and what to do.

- I have an email for Battersea lost dogs too. Although the lost dog line on their website is monitored as I've had to call in the past and they do call back. The email is LostDogs@battersea.org.uk
I am in this area - do we know which road? I have alerted one of my dog walker friend's although we are Streatham Hill and this could be Brixton. We will keep an eye out up this end of course. Last edited: 2012-04-07 09:30:11 by reggiemollieros - 2012-04-07 08:49 Spindle
