Very sadly, a body has been discovered on farmland near to Wolston village this morning and it is believed to be that of George.

Latest Info: Rugby Police "George was seen at around 11.30am on the Brandon Road bridge at Wolston on Thursday 29th March, talking to two men. Police are keen to trace the two gentlemen in question. Did you see Mr Summerfield on March 29, or have you seen him since? If you saw him before then was there anything in his behaviour which made you concerned? If you see George, please dial 999 immediately otherwise any other information can be passed onto the investigative team at Rugby Police Station on 01788 853990. Thank you for continuing to help look for George."

Thank you so much for adding George's details. There is also a fb page for George. If anyone is able to help in the search, there are maps available from the Rose & Crown pub in Main Street, Wolston - and they ask that you shade any areas you have searched and return to the pub. The emphasis is currently on a heavily wooded area, but all details are available on arrival. Thank you to anyone who can help - the police are unable to cover such a vast area and have suggested people with dogs would be of benefit. They have also stressed that at this moment in time no-body goes out alone for obvious resasons. The latest info is that the police are trying to trace two men seen talking to George a few hours before he disappeared. Concerns for missing Wolston pensioner George Summerfield

POLICE are concerned for the welfare of a 77-year-old man from Wolston who has not been seen since Thursday, March 28.

George Summerfield, of Meadow Road, was reported missing on Saturday March 31 by a relative who visited his home address.

Mr Summerfield was seen in the village on Thursday lunch time and enquiries are underway to establish his movements after that.

House-to-house enquiries have been conducted and officers have visited establishments which Mr Summerfield is known to frequent, as well as a search of local woodland and open areas.

They would like to hear from anyone who saw Mr Summerfield on Thursday afternoon or thought there was anything unusual in his recent behaviour.

Mr Summerfield is described as a white male, 5ft 10ins tall, and of medium build. He has a bald head apart from long grey/black hair down the sides.

He is thought to be wearing a dark anorak type jacket and usually wears a green checked flat cap.

Anyone who sees Mr Summerfield is asked to call 999 immediately.

Anyone with information which will help with the investigation is asked to contact Warwickshire Police on 101 or 01926 415000.
