Would there be anyway to identify her after all this time? Was she microchipped? Would there be relatives DNA for comparison? I am fostering a pregnant lab, who has a similar white mark on her chest. I think it is very unlikely to be the same dog, the mark is slightly higher and the one I am fostering seems younger than 4.
lin
bit of a long shot after all this time but mentions white on chest/belly on further post

Kay I was in the RSPCA yesterday and looked out for Salt and also Tara but there was no matches. The AW did come just as I was going so don't know what new ones have been handed in. Sorry Kay while I was replying to your posting on facebook I took a call from Tara's owner with the great news she is home. I've been following it up today as there was a found on the AW's site which was reunited. Tara was found not far from owner's home and was being looked after, the finder rang the RSPCA to report her as found. So pleased Tara is back home. x

Had a call today off a young lady called Holly who asked if we had found her yet i said no and she said well my mate found a black labrador puppy and handed it into the PDSA/Dogs Trust/ RSPCA been to all of them in liverpool and no signs of her yet phoned Holly back and told her we had no luck and she said the dog warden went to her friends house to pick her up so he could have took her anywere spoken to liverpool councils dog warden section and they were not very helpful just told his to go the RSPCA. RSPCA are not very helpful also just keep sayin no been to local vets and put posters up and PDSAS .... Tried to call Holly and text her but she has no answered nor responded to us to see if we can have contact with her friend who actually took her and she would have more details she seems to be avoiding us now although she did say she worked.... i dont understand y someone would call up and say they found her if they actually hadnt and why didnt she get her friend to call in the first place very confused but still looking seen a few dogs in RSPCA today that could match Taras (Tara ID 38549) description but without a photo its hard to have a positive id.

Just finished speaking to owner who is out at the moment searching for her and putting posters up. They are doing a great job spreading the word and have contacted the AW and Halewood RSPCA, they will be going to the kennels to check tomorrow.

They have only had Salt 3 weeks, she got out when a takeaway was being delivered. They have checked with the takeaway and the delivery person said they did see her outside.

I will email further info/advice to family and start sharing on facebook.

Owner is also going to look out for Tara ID 38549 also missing in the L11 area. x

Admin
Sorry to see that SALT is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (38551)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
