I guess Simba will look very different now that he is 12 yrs old. Labradors get stocky as they get older and very jowly I am not sure that an owner will recognise from the above picture unless he has some distinct marks or scars. Good luck though & I hope it is Simba so that he can be well cared for in his golden years.

Here is a statement from the facebook site from finder - Reported him as found with the dog warden today to cover the legal stuff. Signed to say we would foster him and keep him out of the kennels this Christmas which are full 😞 we have to keep him now for 28 days after which if not claimed we are his guardian under law - so the dog warden should be able to sort this out.
DogLostSandra Watt
I copied this from the finder's site - looks like he is planning to keep this dog

My daughter has phone the kennel and the warden and we are waiting for them to get back. They have said they do not have a dog of his description so we are going direct to the lovely people who have found him x
choowie74
Sadly we live in a very cruel world I so hope the found one is your boy and can finally get back home for you to care and love him after all he's been through have you heard anything from them about the found one yet ? X
Marie61
Me too Choowie although my heart is breaking that a person could abandon him and leave him to starve. x
choowie74
Fingers crossed for you Marie hoping it's a good out come for you and hoping it's SIMBA x
Marie61
Hi Sarah and Choowie74. It looks like him but when he went missing he was not chipped but it could well be that someone has picked him up and kept him, he is the best dog and then got him chipped but has now abandoned him. We searched for months and months, knocking on doors, putting up posters. We always said that someone had taken him. We are trying to get through to the wardens now. Thanks for the information.
choowie74
Hi Marie as Sarah said you can get information from Cheshire west and Chester wardens link my link wasn't on public but has been changed now so should be able to see it now x
Sarah
Can I just add that as the post said that the wardens had been out to photograph and take details, the link for the Cheshire West and Chester wardens page is https://www.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk/residents/pests-pollution-food-safety/animal-welfare/stray-and-abandoned-dogs/stray-dog-photographs.aspx The photo may appear on there but if not, there is a tel number and you could call them. x It should be those wardens I would have thought as the dog was found Chester area.Last edited: 2016-12-07 12:53:42 by Sarah

Marie61
Still searching for Simba but still nothing. Even the postmen are looking for him !! It seems like he has just vanished of the face of the earth. Ah well more posters and phone calls further afield this weekend.
Marie61
Got a call form the RSPCA and shot down there but alas it was not Simba. It was a beautiful very sad looking labrador with big brown eyes and a lovely longish coat. Apparently he had just been brought in from Alder vets. Hope his owner picks him up soon. Apparently he is chipped. Back to our search tonite. We keep thinking we can hear Simba barking in a local garden especially when there are ladders in the area (Simba hates ladders !!!!) So tonite we are door knocking and posting more leaflets with Buster, Simbas pal. Thanks again Jan and everyone. We will keep going until we find him x

Marie61, thanks for posting an update on his page it really does help.

Great you are getting calls you will get that most important call. I looked out for him today when I called into Halewood RSPCA. The staff said you had been in and they had your poster up which is brilliant. Keep up the work you are doing and it will pay off. Come on Simba we want to see you in the BLUE. xxx
Marie61
Thanks Jan and everyone. We have just had another false alarm sighting on Pottery Lane by the dogs trust and have just returned from searching the area. There was a dog there but not Simba and he/she could not be caught. The dog warden has been informed and we saw them arrive to continue with the search. The dog was very very frightened and dirty. No collar and golden medium size. So if anyone is looking for a dog of this description Jan he/she went into the National Trust park down the road from where the Quarry used to be or maybe the warden managed to cath him/her. Many thanks again to all for aiding us with our continuing search .

Thanks minigirl for looking into this one. :)x

This sighted could well be Simba especially as he has been missing since the 12th April. If picked up in the area he could be taken to Leigh Cats & Dog's Home, the contact details are in the info/advice email and family were advised to contact them when I spoke to them last night. x

Sorry to see that SIMBA is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (38786)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
