- Found In Region South East
- Found In Post Area KT2
- Date Reunited
- Other Info The local council, environment agency etc have all said it is not their responsibility to retrieve him and they are not interested in helping.... The dog warden went to look, but could do nothing as he is in the river a few metres from the bank. I am posting this as the poor little chap deserves better than this, and if his owners are reading this, I'm sure they would like closure and a chance to say gooodbye.

- Paula, thank for being so kind and doing so much to get this poor dog out of the river. When you say small dog could you compare the size to another dog? Jack Russell? Bigger? Border collie? Could it have ben the size of our quigley (35889)? Thanks.

- Well done paula for taking the time to remove this poor little might. I hope that members of these so called councils and agencies never suffer the misfortune of loosing a pet- if they did they would realise that someone somewhere has missed this little one.
I supposed he could have fallen in anywhere and been washed down stream but you can rest and sleep at night knowing you did all you could.
As for the others i hope they have nightmares !!! - 2012-05-03 22:35 littlehelper
- well done to you Paula x

- Yes well done. It must have been really difficult. I look at the found section every day for my friend's dog. Are you going any further with publicity about this? It really does annoy me when the "authorities" pass the buck and fail to do the right thing.

- I have now removed the dogs body from the river but sadly it was ver decomposed, just skin and bones, no fur. What paul had seen was white skin with patches of algae, but from where he could view it it looked brown and white. The dog warden came out and scanned but no chip. No sign of collar either. A small dog with full tail. Run free now little one x

- Well how disgusting that its come to this. Shame on all the service`s whom today will have been exposed for what they are. Enviromental health service`s with a policy which ignores an unsightly body of a dead dog floating in one of this country`s main tourist attraction, not to mention the implication of the suitability for use and dare I mention Common Wealth games?! You have to wonder what else is left in there ? yes as a Tax payer they`ll rid you of your ant`s and vermin.....SHAME on all who refused to help. Hope the press pick up all and expose. Hope it goes well Paula and Paul with the press.. Gail stolen Tays mum x

- Paula you are amazing, thank you from all the owners of missing brown and white dogs that are looking for closure. I really hope that this poor animal is chipped so the owner can be traced.
- 2012-04-27 10:59 PaulaK
- Meeting the press there this afternoon
- 2012-04-27 10:07 SuzeeBee
- Paula you are an absolute star, wish I were close enough to give you a hand. There are lots of sailing clubs in that stretch of the river could anyone be persuaded to help. I can't bear to think that someone is searching for their lost pet and this poor chap could be chipped and reunited. Good luck today ---- where are these RSPCA folk when needed they love to promote that they are there fo animals 24/7 when it comes to TV publicity.Last edited: 2012-04-27 10:07:48 by SuzeeBee

- No news yet :( Have left another message for RSPCA and have been tweeting in the hope someone will help. RNLI couldnt help. Spoke to Environment Agency yet again yesterday. They would help if it was "more than one animal" or "was blocking the river". Cant believe it - so if it was 2 dogs they would help??!! Also wonder exactly what sized dog it would take to block the Thames?????? Livid doesnt come close - Im going over there this afternoon to check the situation
- 2012-04-26 19:05 ClaireC
- What about going to the local TV news Station and highlighting the fact that there would appear to be nobody wanting to do the decent thing in retrieving this dog to ascertain if it is chipped and letting the owners of the deceased dog know what has happened to their beloved family pet! Pull on both the heart strings and conscience! Bet you find all the help you need after going to them! Worth a try. Good LuckLast edited: 2012-04-26 19:07:42 by ClaireC

- Get-a-Grip ! Its not a killer whale ! Paula I reckon with out some media coverage you just may have to do that !! No one last week, no one today, maybe tomorrow you`ll get another update from an RSPCA Officer/inspector.
Maybe we`ll discover they too have a short list of what they will do and a long list of what they wont. Best wishes Gail x - 2012-04-25 14:48 PaulaK
- RNLI are trying to find someone to help. RSPCA also just called me back, after I threatened to get in the river myself, so looks like we should be able to get this poor mite out of the river soon one way or another

- Whoever you are little one, I'm sorry you didn't make it to wherever you were going. The gods had other plans for you - you're warm and comfortable now you're at the Bridge - have fun - and when you sleep - sweet dreams. x

- Has anyone tried the River Police or any of the Sailing clubs to ask for help in retrieving this poor dog. I see he was found on 15th April so has been in the water some time if still there. Poor dog RIP sweetie.

- Would there be any emergency boat services or patrols or any boats to hook or net it. Feel so helpless. Im so anxious. Ive left 2 messages on the above No and missed a return call, just hoping for a description. Its been said earlier.....if its my dog I`d go and get him. x
- 2012-04-24 13:32 janni0706
- Some of my friends on fb have suggested calling the local fire brigade to get him out. I would hate it to be one of mine and left in the water :O(
