I am so very sorry to read this awful news. I lost my dog in the same way and I understand the heartbreak. Too many owners are now out there just like us. Please tell your parents that God takes his special ones quickly and without pain. Jolly has earnt his little wings and is safe now, waiting for his family, when their journey too, is complete. They will be together forever. God bless you all. x

Why oh why can't Network Rail make tracks less accessible? Surely something can be done. I am so fed up with seeing so many of our beloved pets being killed on the railway. Grrrr. I am so very sorry that beautiful Jolly was yet another victim, and my thoughts are with the family at this sad time. Run free at the bridge, lovely boy xx

Oh no,, another victim to the railways; there are far too many today. My thoughts are with the family of Jolly who is now playing at the bridge, where one day he will be waitinbg for you when the tieme is right. Please dont think you have lost your boy forever: you haven`t. He is still around you, and will never leave you, because of the love and care you gave him. A friend of mine often sees his late lamented dog Bailey happily at play in spirit. Night, night Jolly sleep tight, and please look olver yopur family who really need your strength atg thsis time. Sending them absent healing for their grief and lots of comforting hugs from me. Will light candles and pray for you all. God Bless RIP Jolly +++

Roger I am so sorry to hear that the dreaded railways have claimed another poor dog. It is happening far too often. At least as you say you have closure but I just wish the outcome could have been happier for your parenys. Hope this poem will help a little:

THE RAINBOW BRIDGE

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colours. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills, and valleys with lush green grass. When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.

There is always food and water and warm Spring weather. The old frail animals are young again. They play all day with each other. There is only one thing missing, they are not with their special person who loved them so much on Earth.

Each day they all run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up! The nose twitches! The ears rise up! The eyes are staring! Then suddenly, this one runs from the group! You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her into your arms and you both embrace. Your face is licked again and again and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separate

I would just like to thank everyone who have put up posters, reposted this on the internet and helped us look for Jolly over the past week and all those that have sent supporting messages.
Sadly, after an extensive search of Ferryside and with the help of the local lineman for the railway, I found Jolly between the rails quite close to his home. He had been hit by an up-train travelling fast through the area and very likely didn't know anything about what happened to him.
He was a very beautiful dog and we all miss him terribly but at least we have some closure and don't need to worry where he is now. I believe that some owners say that dogs go across "Rainbow Bridge" - I believe he is walking with God now.

Thank you all once again, your help is greatly appreciated.

Jolly was lost on Ferryside beach, near Carmarthen. I have been in touch with his owner by email. Unfortunately I am ill so cannot get there to help search for him. If there is anyone in the area who can help to search I am sure it would be appreciated. Have advised owner to contact the kennels where Carmarthen strays are taken

Hope Jolly is found safe very soon.
