- Thank you for that insight FrankieB; I am glad that this can be common knowledge locally, as all owners will need to keep their dogs away from her and maybe even unite and speak to the police to prevent anything else. As we all know farms usually have legal rights of way through them, but not all farmers are happy with that. Please everyone take care here. x

- How disgusting. Poor Izzie. Given the area and the fact that it's a female farmer, I think I know who she is and I am not at all surprised. I was walking my dog ON A LEAD along fields in that area and was threatened verbally by a female farmer for simply being there though there were no sheep within sight of where I was. By local accounts, she's having a hard time financially so it doesn't surprise that she would try anything to get some money.

- Oh what a terribly sad outcome - I am so very, very sorry. My thoughts are with the family at this awful time, and hope that they are able to bring dear Izzie back home. Run free at the bridge, beautiful Izzie - you didn't deserve this xx

- Kimmybear. I think you are right, the farmer is most probably after money. So sorry for Izzie and her owners, who must be devastated at this tragedy, not to mention George. You have to be so careful today, what with farmers rights, and need to sue culture these days. Night, night Izzie, sleep tight, and go play at the bridge with Buster. Sending your heartbroken family loads of comforting hugs and healing prayers for their sorrow. Tomorrow I shall offer my Mass up for Izzie and her family, and light candles for them too. You have not lost your girl forever, as one day you will be crossing the bridge with her; hope this gives you a little comfort. God Blessx

- Okay, got it all sorted. Spoke to owner. Advised them not to part with any money as there is no evidence dogs were upsetting sheep. I doubt the farmer can prove it and could just be trying to get cash. They are in shock. Feel awful for them. Farmer claims she took a photo and buried Izzie. Owners want Izzie home but after five weeks not sure if possible. Have advised them to contact a pet crem who will know if feasible, also if they are kind, they might be able to do this for owners. Problem could be farmer though. Farmer claims she reported Izzie to police but owner has been phoning daily to dog warden and called police who both claim to know nothing so did farmer actually call? Strange that she only responded when Izzie was in paper and only asked for money. Izzie has TWO chips, so police could have called Dog Warden who could have scanned FIVE weeks ago! Izzie had a collar on but tag missing. Owners going to do things I have advised and they will also call us as they need help with police etc. So very, very sad. Too many trigger happy farmers - I do understand dogs can upset sheep, but I so wish they could deal with this in a different way. Plus, we don't really know if they were doing that. God bless sweet Izzie, now safe in God's arms. x

- This is very sad. Farmer has shot Izzie and George ran home. I have asked owner to call for advice, as she would like Izzie's body. Farmer took her collar off and we don't know where Izzie is. Owners put her in the local paper and finally received a call yesterday from a sheep farmer a mile away. I think the farmer is trying to claim money, but they already shot poor Izzie! Need to get this clarified - have tried to stop owner giving money. There is no proof that dogs were upsetting sheep and owner thinks they wouldn't do that as they are used to livestock. Poor, Izzie and poor George who must be in a state. Will update when clarified. x
