- a big huge thankyou to one and all who helped and cared about us. through my sobbing on porter way this morning with my rocky in my arms. he was spotted at greenbank but this young lady i know that has only seen rocky twice and months ago, finally picked him up on castle wearing a red collar, no tag on it. told her to bring him to me if it wasn't my rocky and somebody elses i would take them straight to vets to scan for microchip. but it was my rocky with a red collar on, he absolutely stank yet the water was clean no sign of mud, i think he's been in somebodies house, theyve put the collar on him but couldn't take him out because everybody knew. he's either escaped or they dumped him. safe in our home. he's had a spa bath and spoilt. another big thankyou to all at doglost especially sue gillian vicky and everybody else x

- Thats just brilliant news. A different collar on probably explains why our posters were taken down.
Wellcome home Rocky so pleased for your mum.xx - 2012-05-16 13:12 Rocinante
- It is with the utmost pleasure that I can now tell you that Master Rocky has now been found safe and well and has been reunited with his delighted owners. Val called me this morning and through the tears I think I gathered that he'd been found further up the railway line by Greenbank station wearing a red collar that he didn;t have on when he left! Many, many thanks to all who have been looking out for him, especially Gill and her friend who have been total stars and out searching every day. Welcome home Rocky....please admin, could you put him in the blue? :-D

- been out and looking with the wheelie bins being out between 2 and 3 a.m. this morning. just been out now and a man with a jack russell said rocky was talking to mr leather on the friday that rocky went missing and that rocky was playing with his dog as well. he says he goes down to the river 3 times a day and was on his way down there at 7.25a.m. and would look out. he confirmed that gypsies were around that friday half an hour after he saw rocky. come home rocky your mums very tired

- hi all - have all the local vets got copies of Rocky's poster?
I emailed Rockys poster to some of the local(ish) dogwalkersgroomers last night and 'Houndabout' and 'Four paws pet services' have come back to me and are keeping their eyes open and spreading the word where possible. A few of them didn't have email addresses online so I couldn't message them yet. I can make some phone calls to the others on Friday when I'm next off work.
Val - lovely re-united story today by the way - Tina 39277 who had been living under a bush in someones back garden for days before the power of the poster (and the local school) helped to spread the word and she made it home. Fingers crossed Rocky shows himself again soon. :) - 2012-05-15 21:13 skippy
- admin - why when cross-post Rocky's poster to facebook, can we not see Rockys photo in the thumbnail? It's not normally a problem
- 2012-05-15 09:49 Gillian73
- Hiya all, i'm out today until about 9pm tonight so can't go searching but if you do get any sightings sue can ring me and i'll contact my friend on belmont rd and he'll be able to go straight out to follow it up. I hope you get some good news soon val. And, it was very nice to meet you sue.

- ive even posted as far as carey park across from matalan. posted on the railway bridge going onto danefields and the other side of danefields that comes out onto victoria road and church road. sue put quite a few up so did somebody else even the one on the seat at top of spibeys was reemoved. ive done loads. 3 times have put a new one up on belmont park and bus shelter, why do people have to remove them?? I rang the wardens.co.uk about the black and tan dog so did one of our carers, it was a cross spaniel. Fingers crossed we will get him
- 2012-05-14 22:44 Rocinante
- Met Gill this evening an walked over the railway bridge onto the Dane (?) estate and to the cemetery. Through there and then back down to the river to walk along to the fishing pits. Checked the railway line and gave posters out to the people we passed on the way. Postered at different points and all around the fishing pits. Then went back to the estate and replaced some spoiled posters and put new ones up where the originals had been removed. Hard to know which direction to go in next until we have another sighting. We're ready this time though, as Gill and her friend live close by and can get to a sighting quickly. Come on Rocky, we're waiting.........!
- 2012-05-14 19:55 val
- not had anymore sitings, thanks to a lady that turned up this afternoon to go and have a look for rocky around the river. sorry i missed her when she was leaving. thanks to all you kind people out there for your support. come home rocky please.
- 2012-05-14 19:01 Gillian73
- Skippy- i noticed the lack of posters too, would have taken some but don't have a printer at the moment. The first poster i saw was quite near were val lives. We only seen 2 people who were already aware of rocky so word is definitely getting out. I'm meeting sue in 10 mins we'll have a good look for him.
- 2012-05-14 16:52 skippy
- Hi Gillian73 - I must have just missed you. I'm not local, but took an opportunity to drop into Rudheath for a walk on my way past. I spoke to Val and went for long walk down and around the river, up into the estate at a few different points, past the fishing pits. No sign - spoke to everyone I met (including a postman who also lives locally) about him though - most people were already aware he is missing which is good, but I saw absolutely no posters except the one in vals front garden. She told me that they keep getting taken down. Wished I'd got some with me to replace, but sadly not.
In work now til Friday so can't do much til then...sorry :(...hope he shows himself again before then... - 2012-05-14 16:14 Rocinante
- Checked on both the dogs mentioned by Skippy but definately not Rocky. Thanks for suggesting, Skippy. The hunt goes on......
- 2012-05-14 12:59 Gillian73
- I've spoken to sue on the phone and will hopefully be going out to search together tonight! My friiend and i are currently down the river from the belmont rd field way. Walked past the fishing pits and up spibey lane back on to the estate. Shouted his name but no sign. Will go out later at some point.

- Spent a couple of hours this morning on the fields in Shipbrook Road. Started at the metal gate and walked right across the field to the river. Then turned left and followed it to the cemetery and then back up to the fishermans pond. Then up to the railway and around the top pond and back onto the estate. Checked under all the hedges and constantly called Rockys name but no joy. There is so much undergrowth for a small dog to hide in. Only saw about 5 people but they all knew about Rocky and were looking out for him, so that's really good, as the posters are doing their job. I then had to go over to Liverpool and as sods law goes, the sighting happened! Got back about 8:30 and drove all around the estate a couple of times but again no joy. Did notice that some of the poster have been ruined by the rain so will try to replace tomorrow. Hopefully go out early tomorrow morning for another mooch around in the sighting area. Also hope that Gill and I can swop numbers so we can join forces so we can get to any other sightings quickly.

- 2012-05-12 14:55 val
- luke lucy and jack have said they have sighted rocky down near river. off belmont think theres a road called marlowe road and theres a gullyway. they tried to catch him but he got away
- 2012-05-12 13:34 Gillian73
- Shared on facebook, a lot of my friends are local so even more eyes looking for Rocky now!
- 2012-05-12 09:39 val
- more posters put out, each of our carers has one in their car window. no more sitings, no phonecalls just nothing. so upset.
- 2012-05-12 01:41 Rocinante
- Just checked the Cheshire West page and still no photo of the stray picked up today. Leftwich is exactly the right area. Doesn't sound like Rocky but think we need to definately rule it out so will keep checking. Thanks to you all for checking :) Gillian - I'm so glad you're on his case by searching - I know Val and Peter will be so grateful. I'm hoping to go down there again this morning to have a look around the fields. Here's hoping......come on Rocky, time to go home....
- 2012-05-11 23:27 skippy
- Oh well - thought it was worth a try - sorry it wasn't Rocky :( Hope he turns up soon and that the owners of the 'found' catch up with him too.

- Hi skippy i rang cheshire west when i saw this and the lady said its a brown dog wearing a stars and stripes bandana, she couldnt say when photos would be added but did say they scan the dogs as soon as they come in.
- 2012-05-11 18:48 skippy
- Probably not him, but there has been a dog picked up in Leftwich - described on Cheshire Wests dogwarden site as a cross - but no picture at the time of posting:

- Hiya, i'm so sorry to hear Rocky is still missing. I live quite close to the field on belmont road and have been out looking for him several times since speaking to his owner on the field on sunday. My friend has been down the river every day looking too and we will both continue to do this until you find him. I hope and pray he is found soon.

- Anyone available this Saturday morning to help me search around the fields?
- 2012-05-10 05:27 Maggie

Thank you Rocinante and Millypod for all the help you are giving Val.
Great that you are getting sightings Val, hopefully it won't be long before you have Rocky back home with you :)
Thank you Lankeela for your help :) - 2012-05-09 23:51 Rocinante
- Millypod, you're a star - thank you so much for looking and postering. I've put up some laminates on the lamp posts on each road that leads onto the main road and at various points around the estate. The rain was really too heavy to go searching on foot but stopped a few dog walkers and gave them posters. Will go back again tomorrow when hopefully the weather is better. We just need to get this little fella back home as soon as possible as his owner is very ill and is distraught at losing him :(
- 2012-05-09 18:15 Lankeela
- I'll repost now there is a picture - we have a Heeler owner in that area so might be able to help search if no news from the posters soon.

- 2012-05-08 22:32 Rocinante
- Have sent Rocky's photo to admin to put on poster and owner would like her mobile number to be displayed. I saw Rocky was missing this evening and went for a drive around (only about 5 miles from me) but couldn't find him. I also went for a walk where he was last seen on Sunday and a field close by leads down to a very large area of countryside with a river running through. Had a quick look but really need some help to do a proper search as it's thick undergrowth in parts and quite remote.
I spent some time with Rocky's owner and due to some medical problems, she will find it difficult to search as much as she would like. She desperately needs help so please, please if you are in the Northwich area or close by (Winsford, Middlewich etc) could you help me to poster and search? I am going to Liverpool tomorrow and so will try to call into Halewood rescue to log his details and check if he's there. I'll also call around the other rescues and alert as many local vets etc. as possible. Here's hoping that we can get Rocky back safely where he belongs as soon as possible......... - 2012-05-08 18:03 Maggie
- Thank you Lankeela for your help :)
