We think that the father has concocted the lies as we both know him to lie to his wife so who are we that he would tell the truth to. We just need to know what has happened to Tess and why she was'nt wearing her collar.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This is awful for you. If the son is a young boy maybe he thought that lying would be the easiest option. Really hope you get some new leads on Tess. Dolly 6.2.05Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Dear Jayne and all volunteers @ Doglost, Sabine and myself would like to thank you all for the wonderful help and support that you have given us with the dissappearance of Tess and we still hope and pray for her return to us. We were very dissapointed that the people who were supposed to be looking after Tess had not been in contact with us. we thought that possibly they were embarrassed. But we have since found out that the story they gave us of Tess,s dissappearance was lies and that the son of people mentioned had actually told a neighbour and the contractor (who was initially blamed for leaving garden gate open and using a nail gun which frightened Tess) that he had let her off her lead and she ran away. Why did he return with collar and lead as it was impossible for Tess to slip her collar, we dont know, and the Surrey police are not interested as they say that unless I have proof of a crime being committed they would not get involved. If we had been told the truth of where she had actually run off it may have resulted in our much loved and missed Tess being found by the kind members/volunteers of doglost. Thank you all so very much Ian & Sabine Sinclair Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Sabine, I haven't had personal experience with getting a new dog when one is missing, but my advise to you would be go ahead and get another dog. I would get a male as opposed to a bitch so that WHEN Tess comes home she will be much more likely to get on with a male than with a female. Two females are less likely to get on than one of each, I think Tess might find another female dog a threat but will love to have a male around. Good luck and if you do get a pal for Tess please post on here so we can hear all about it!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you so much Jenny, I think you are right, but it does not help at all. I miss her so much and I can't understand why people take a dog in without trying to find out where she belong to. At the moment I'm totaly confused anyway. We start thinking about getting a new dog again. I don't know if it is right or wrong. As she still was with us we were already thinking about getting a pal for her. Do you, or anybody else, has his own experience with it? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sabine, I'm sure there are NO puppy farms in this area and I think I know all of the kennels around here. I really think that Tess has probably been taken in by someone, otherwise someone would have seen her by now. It doesn't help you but she is probably being well loved by a new family unaware that Tess has her own family waiting for her. Hopefully sooner or later she will be scanned at a vet or somewhere and you will then be reunited with her. I can ony reassure you that I look at every dog that I pass, every day!! Don't give up on her, I'm sure you'll get her back! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I constantly worry that Dolly ended up on a puppy farm Sabine. Don't see how it would be worth them keeping a speyed bitch so it stands to reason that they would dump them. Dolly 6.2.05Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I just spoke to a Lady that told me that some bitches are kept in puppy farm's until they get in season. If they do not come in season they dump them. Tess was neutered with 6 month. Has anybody heard about cases like that?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you so very much Jenny that you went to have a look. We really dont know what we would do without all your help! To be here in Scotland so far away from where she went missing would make the situation hopeless without the help we get of DOGLOST. Its a shame it wasn't Tess. Very similar but it had 'blue/white eyes and was a boy. Have to admit at first glance I really thought it was her. When Charlotte and I arrived in Richmond Road (dead end) we could see this dog lying on a pavement. As I parked the car she disappeard into a very very over grown garden (chest-high grass) so I walked around the corner towards the driveway and called her name as quietly/calmly as I could. With that the dog appeared travelling over the ground at about 50mph, lips curled up, teeth bared and came straight at me! I virtually fell over Charlotte as I was attempting to put as much space between me and this dog. With all this noise going on the owners came out and we explained why we were there. Dave the man who made this original sighting actually arrived at this point - I did thank him on behalf of Tes's owners and told him to keep looking. He had seen a press release in a local paper. Lets hop the REAL TESS surfaces soon! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Nik, If Tess was covered in any of the local papers I didn't see it. It breaks my heart to think of her wandering around - I still think its more likely that she has been taken in by someone - she's such a lovely looking dog - otherwise surely there would have been more sightings! Went to four different newsagents in Chertsey and two in Addlestone and three garages. No luck getting hold of the 'Leader'. Apparently its a free paper that is delivered straight through peoples doors. A friend's ex lives in Chertsey and should have had one delivered - he's going to pass it on so hopefully I'll have it in a day or so. The main road from Weybridge (where I live) to Addlestone and Chertsey is closed at the moment between 7 - 7 so its not quite as straight forward as it should be!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Update earlier post should say microchip inserted in her left shoulder/neck area. You are right Suze!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
suze-b
This business of microchip placing has worried me for ages - so many countries put them in totally different positions. Two of my dogs are French imports and in France microchips are inserted on the lefthand side of the throat just below collar level so nowhere near the classic UK position on top of the dog's back between the shoulderblades. However I am told that modern scanners are incredibly sensitive hopefully..... SuzeLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I notice Tess is microchipped, do they place the microchip in the same place as England? I think this needs to be known as if she was picked up and scanned and it is put in a different place it may not be picked up. Dolly 6.2.05Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Nik, Sorry I have only just logged on again (very late). The paper you mentioned with the word 'Review' in the name does not ring any bells. As I said there is nothing in the Surrey Herald (the Addlestone edition), but I will go down to another newsagent again tomorrow to ask there. The only 'free' papers we have around here as far as I know are the 'Informer' and the 'Friday Free Ads' but I will check again tomorrow. Incidentally I had to take my dog to the vet today and took a poster of Tessa in which they now have on their notice board. It was the 'Willett House' vets in Addlestone. Apparently you had phoned them with details but they were pleased to put a poster up. I gather from the lad I spoke to from the house where Tessa went missing that you or someone has already spoken to the 'Spinney Hill' vets also in Addlestone. Should I assume they already have a poster as well? Im going to send you a 'private message' with my mobile/home numbers incase you want to speak to me in person etc.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Nik, I bought the Surrey Herald (Addlestone,Chertsey,Byfleet issue) and I'm afraid there is nothing about Tessa in there - as far as I can see! Also the newsagent has never heard of the Addlestone Review. In the Herald there are pages of news on the Chertsey Show (animals) and another page on a chap who has written a book about 'Thick Dogs' so I can only assume they didn't think more 'animal stories' were suitable! It may be worth phonin the Herald to see if they can put a bit in about Tessa next week!! Good luck.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This dog is very timid and is not likely to come when called, although will bound up to people. Very, very keen on horse manure, so could be where horses are.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Remember the Hungarian Vizsla puppy that was stolen from kennels in Ottershaw on 19th June - well that is only a stones throw from Addlestone. We desperately need to make Tessa TOO HOT TO HANDLE as we did with the Vizsla puppy. I still believe that the puppy was stolen by gypsies.
