Hello janey .........no money was exchanged for these dogs it was planly a trial run to see how the dogs were n how they would settle it was a trail basis and asked andrew who took the dogs to be in regular contants ,he ignored all our calls we went to his hpuse on numeroos occations to find he moved house !! We managed to find him and he had sold our dogs without our permission so if u havnt got anything ppssitive to say then butt out !! We just want to np if the dogs are safe and well if they are then were happy for them to stay with new owners we wouldnt want to uproute them again x

The owner realises that whoever bought these dogs did so in good faith. She would like reassurance that this lovely pair are being well looked after.
Advised to put an appeal ad on preloved/ gumtree

I dont see how you can report them as stolen when you "gave" them away all that time ago? when you gave them up for whatever reason you lost all rights to them as far as I am concerned, I am sure if they were bought, they are probably having a great life,usually when money has changed hands they want the dog for the right reason.

Billy and tilly was sold by a andrew higham who isd a dishonest man the dogs was only with him on trial they are now reported stolen and are also chipped !!!

So sorry and sad to read what has happened here. I fully understand how you are feeling. As a responsible, concerned previous owner you have every right to be concerned or even want billy and tilly returned to you as this man has not kept to the agreement made and also got your dogs under the false pretence that they were going to live somewhere with him when clearly this was a lie. I live in Co Durham and will share to my FB page and will certainly keep a look out for them. Good luck, lets hope we get some news soon.

hya janey !! we let the dogs go to andrew on a trial basis to see how billy and tilly settled and to see how my mum would cope without them !! it was agreed ,on the circumstances that he kept in touch by text or phone call .we went to his house on numerous occasions to find him never there !! later we found he has sold them . he knew how hard for us as a family it was for us but seemed a really nice man .my mum is worried sick maybe she would be happy to see them in a loving family home ,we need to cross that bridge if we ever get to it xxx

county durham is my area,,but wondering what is wanted to be achieved here? legally you gave them away and no longer have any right to them? if I now owned one I would not give it up, I therefore think you may track them down but its huge task when they have gone under these circumstances

Hi puppy dog sorry yes it's near Cumbria !! Both dogs billy and Tilly are missing !! We needed to find a new home for them and advertised them on pets preloved !! We thought we had found them a perfect home with Andrew higham , we went to his home which he told us he owned and that the fields were his to ! So after a lot of tears we let them go to this man on the understanding that it was a2 month trial and to keep in touch regular !! Much to our surprize Andrew didn't keep to his word and didn't answer any call or txt , we traveled dwn 3 times he was never there ! On the 4 th time we discovered he has moved !! We found Andrew after a lot of hard wrk to find this man is a complete lyer and didn't own his house and that he had sold our dogs they are now reported stolen and are chipped to us ! We are devastated by this mans actions ! He said he's put them on pets preloved and let them go to a couple in the north east and claims he doesn't have any other details as to we're they are plse help we need are babies back or need to no there in a loving home x

• Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
