- Yes digbysmum this was posted again to show the importance of MICROCHIPPING etc. Iggy's was a great story and proof that the chip can work, gives hope to others whose dog's are still missing. xxx

- Think there's a bit of confusion going on here, as Iggy was reunited in March, 2010 after being missing for 5 years. Surely he didn't go missing again? I believe this was bumped to show the importance of microchipping your dog. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

- It's on hearing stories just like this one that keeps us all in the hope we too will be reunited with our furbabies. Welcome home Iggy, what a long wait your family have had, but boy, worth it!

- This is absolutely fantastic news. I am so thrilled Iggy is back with his rightful family: this has made my day. Hope we get the full story on where Iggy has been all this time. Presume stolen? It has to be a big THANK YOU to all who helped him return to his family, especially the lady who took him to the vet. (Up the microchip). Welcome home gorgeous Iggy. Stay safe now :-) :-) L-)xxx

- 💥💥💥 Bumping this one up to prove the importance of having your dog MICROCHIPPED and keeping details UP TO DATE 💥💥💥
He turned up 130 miles away, spotted wandering the streets in Leicester and taken to a vet. The vet discovered Iggy was MICROCHIPPED and he was able to alert owners. ❤️❤️❤️ - 2010-03-23 13:47 sheralike
- Iggy came to my dog club last Wednesday with his new brother Odie, he looks fantastic if a little chubby! Just goes to show never ever give up hope and what a shame he wasn't scanned sooner but this is the problem with people who are not bothered about where their new dog has been before and don't ask enough questions and get it scanned!! I am so pleased for Iggy and his family, he is back where he belongs at last. Bless him. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am so very happy for them. It makes me cry how happy I am for everyone. And that he recognized their voices and his name is simply amazing. Congratulations and welcome home big boy. - 18.40 p.m. OMG how fantastic, power to the Chip once again. Just spoken to one very happy family and uploaded a reunited photo with his young owner (inset photo when aged 12 years and Iggy was a young puppy). Iggy did recognise his family especially his young owners mum, who said this maybe because his owner was only young when he went missing. He also knew his name when the lady rang them and called his name, his ears pricked up. The story has also been on the news tonight. There will be lots of champagne flowing now with the welcome home party. Lots of hugs and kisses to the lovely Izzy. Well done and THANK YOU to everyone who has helped in getting him home after all this time, especially the lady who took him to the vet. Jan x

- I have spoken to Iggy's owner today still no sightings but they are extremely worried as Iggy suffers occassionaly from Lapsing Ulcerative Colitis, which causes extreme & excessive diarrhoea up to 10 times a day Iggy requires steroids & a special diet to get this under control. Please let any local vet know as this condition will need expensive treatment. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- yes you can pass my info on, people on the estate tend to take in the animals, this is why i am saying we need to get loads of posters put up, thats the only reason i got my dog back, cause they had kids and the kids were in tears that she was going, so obviously they wanted to keep her, i live right near where all dogs go for a walk around here so i have my eyes open xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Proton - we don't advise saying a dog is chipped when it isn't - the reason being that when dog wardens/vets look on here when they have found a dog that looks similar, they will dismiss it immediately if a chip is not found - and it could be your dog.... and it will be too late. I see you've joined the DTA forum, thank you so much - we have regular articles in Our Dogs magazine (including this week where we were at Wag & Bone show) so please do join in trying to get dog theft STOPPED!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Lostlabs - we have also printed some postrs off - u need to contact ur local paper ASAP. They will put a story out. Freds mum and I have also lost our dogs over the last 6 weeks and we know how u feel xx Get to the papers PDQ. Was he chipped? even if he wasnt - say he WAS it might make 'thiefs' let him go. be as canny as the bas%%rds who may have took him but be assured you will discover many people around, on here and on others sites who will try to help. This dog stealing has to end. I contacted the Rochdale MP and was kind of 'fobbed off' with Budget constraints!!!!!!! for chipping and awareness campaigns. Anyone know of any campaigns for dog recovery or anyone want to help lobby local coucillors and MP's please lets get together. Mollys dad xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Searchers still there. No news. Despite being rural school of thought is he is still in the area, his breeder lives not far from home and the pup has only known this area- but there is possiblly he has been ' taken ' in. There is a large estate close by. So not only look for wandering dog please take note of any that may be being walked. He is a very friendly dog and would go to anyone.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- We have informed our membership and have peeps out now looking. They are armed with posters. The pup disapeared at the top end of LOMUS LANE in the Balladen area of Rawtenstall only 100 yrds from home. Have advised to leave a scent trail back to house but we have no idea if he has moved on. The owners are now contacting pounds, kennels etc although have already put posters up and told milkman etc. The police were told the day he went but no wardens etc appear to have been contacted so he may be a kennel somewhere. If so I pray they scan him !!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
