- Can I just say that there is far more to this story than the owners have let on! Please reserve judgement on everyone involved in this case until the FULL facts are known!!

- I would love to know the outcome of this? Do we know anything further? A lot of "so called" "behaviourists" are useless, I would advise anyone to go to the UK Registry of Canine Behaviourists for advice/assistance with any dog. This is where the best are logged and the Trainers from Dog Borstal are there as well. I've found some real bad ones in the past, so please everyone go here and they will give you someone to help. Your dog's life does not need to be turned upside down to fix one problem either! Let's all try to do this in the name of JetLi, and get rid of people like this idiot who has caused so much harm and grief. Perhaps we could all complain to Trading Standards about him, or something, but we need our facts first. I hope owners have dealt with him via police. God Bless sweet JetLi and his family. x

- I've emailed two Shar Pei rescues (www.shar-pei-recue.co.uk and www.sharpeirescue.org.uk) in case they want to get involved. For you Jet Li xxx

- I have just read more details on this so called behaviourist. It says he 'is working towards his acredition' so he is not qualified. It says he works for or runs a rescue? it says he has been reported to KC. It also says that the dog was pts within 24 hours. I am speechless. This is an egomaniac of the highest order and MUST not be allowed near dogs ever again. and yet he will..........

- Horrified describes my feelings too. I hope this murdering low-life can't afford a good lawyer. I doubt his mobile number will stay on their website much longer, now that people are aware of his identity. What a scumbag - the vet has a lot to answer for as well. Bless that beautiful soul Jet Li - failed by man'kind' xx

- I have just read this and am horrified. How can this person do this without 1st telling dog warden or finding owner? I would seek legal advice and sue this person without a doubt. 1. dog in strange place. 2. these so called behaviourists do not know everything or much - depends how you look at it. I have had akitas for 30 years and have met several so called behaviourists who say thye are un trainable. I imagine that the Shar pei will come in the same catagory in the minds of so called behaviourists. If the dog had a fight with another - what do thye expect. This is awful. Name and shame this person and clal the police this is criminal damage.

- I have just googled Shar Pei Guildford and indeed the "behavourists" name is there. Go and have a look everyone. This cold blooded murderer should be named and shamed. Infact, if they have to be registered, he should be struck off. My heartfelt sympathy goes to Jet Li's owners. They must be absolutely devastated. I am so so sorry. I do hope you are able to take legal action. So many questions with, I suspect, dubious answers. Go play at the bridge little one, no one can harm you now.

- I have read on another site that Jet Li was being fostered by the behaviourist for a rescue. The behaviourist wouldn't tell the rescue what had happened to him only he had been in a fight with another dog hence him being shown as "stolen". The rescue received a text from the dog warden to say that he had been PTS. The behaviourist is named on another site I've not put his name here but you can find it by searching missing Shar Pei Guildford.

- This is totally unacceptable. This person needs to be named and action taken. So very, very sorry to hear about Jet Li - RIP beautiful boy xx

- Hi Shereen, thank you for alerting the owner and let's hope that something is done to prevent another story like this happening again.

- I did alert her to come back and read the page this morning.Xx

- I absolutely agree with you Claire.
- 2012-05-19 18:33 ClaireC
- Hi all, these are very good valuable points but is anyone aware whether the owners is reading her pets page? Maybe somebody from Doglost, perhaps the coordinator for the area can make the owner aware of these posts. Is this possible please?
- 2012-05-19 17:26 digbysmum
- This is horrendous! Who is this behaviourist? I am so very sorry this awful thing has happened, and my thoughts are with the family at this time. Too young for the bridge, but run free, lovely Jet Li xx
- 2012-05-18 23:14 Angie
- I am just utterly gobsmacked! Poor Jet Li, poor family that has lost one of their own so unnecessarily. I too would be suing the ass off the toy town behaviourist!
- 2012-05-18 23:00 BBKM
- This is so terrible to read. The owners must insist in seeing this boys body to identify him, (if possible) or speak to the vet who put him to sleep???? How dare this so called behaviourist do this, if true. I am suspicious to the fact the dog was stolen and agree with janni0706 that maybe this has been said to stop his owners looking for him. Evidence is needed here. If true and Jet Li has gone over the bridge, Run Free, young, beautiful boy xxLast edited: 2012-05-18 23:01:41 by BBKM

- What an absolutely disgusting outcome. The sad fact is that just as anyone can set up as a human nutritionist without any qualifications, anyone can set up as an animal behaviourist. IF it does turn out that Jet Li was PTS, this so-called behaviourist clearly doesn't seem to know the first thing about dogs' reactions to strange surroundings. Secondly, the opportunist (for that is all they seem to be from where I can see) knows nothing about the laws applying to found dogs. In the above circumstances, get legal advice and make sure that you sue the pants off the person concerned and ensure that they can never practice again. I know there are some people (including owners) who will think about "the current economic climate" and this being this person's livelihood. Sorry but this was an animal's life, needlessly lost because of the advice of an amateur. Poor, beautiful boy.

- Hi, first of all let me say how very very sorry I am to have read what has happened to your dog and that you take comfort in the knowledge that no further harm can be inflicted on him if this is the case. I spent countless money on the use of various dog behaviorists with my Border Collie. Not once did any of them ever suggest having my terrified, nervous wreck of a dog PTS. Thankfully I still have her. I do think that any self-respecting vet would have telephoned to make sure this was the correct course of action for this dog with the owner. Sounds fishy to me too and I think it needs checking out thoroughly. Last edited: 2012-05-18 20:15:52 by ClaireC

- This is just dredful, I agree with Pollydog you need evidence that Jet Li was pts, please please follow this up, if in fact he has been pts you need to get legal advice, you and your poor boy deserve justice for this. Run free sweet boy xx
- 2012-05-18 16:38 Jonfiz
- good [point Janni0706 I would try to find the vets and get confirmation from them and I would also want to id my dogs body if it hadn't already been returned to me upsetting though it may be, then you would know for sure. The police should also be involved as this behaviourist has broken the law. I know this is probably the last thing on Jet Li's family's mind at the moment but you deserve some answers. Although I am not in your area if you feel that you are unable to delve into the whys and wherefores but want some answers I would be more than happy to do this for you

- Sooooo many questions........
- 2012-05-18 14:49 janni0706
- A friend had a suggestion, do we know the behaviourist was telling the truth or the person notifying the owners he had been put to sleep? What if the so called behaviourist was the person who stole the dog and just wants to keep him. This way the owners would not look for him any longer. Secondly, why didn't the vet immediately get in touch with the owners on finding his microchip before putting him to sleep?Last edited: 2012-05-18 14:50:44 by janni0706
- 2012-05-18 14:45 Angel
- We are all confused. The police should already be involved as the original post said Jet was stolen. Not lost, Stolen. How did he come to be living with a 'behaviourist' within 3 days of being Stolen? None of this makes sense. So, so many questions???????
- 2012-05-18 14:37 pollydog
- This is so shocking, and I am so sorry for your loss. For specialist dog law advice, you could try Trevor Cooper 0906 515 1108 Calls cost £1.53 per minute plus network extras. This is a premium rate call, because you pay for the advice within the call charge. You could also try find out if the "behaviourist" is a member of any of the various professional organisations such as APBC, and if so, perhaps a complaint to them would be in order too.
I can't understand how they could have decided to PTS Jet Li, without contacting you first via the microchip. As someone else had already said, whoever had him had a legal obligation to inform the dog warden service. Of course no amount of legal action can bring Jet Li back, so before incurring high legal fees, you need to think carefully about whether you can afford to do this, and what if might cost you emotionally as well as financially.
One more thing - if you haven't already, you should ask for evidence that he was actually PTS, even if you don't want him back to arrange your own cremation, there should be a vet report to confirm this has happened.
- 2012-05-18 14:15 lmbb118
- If my comment below is the case I would also suggest getting in touch with the rescue centre that he came from - they would want to know what has happened & may be able to help with any action taken against this "behaviourist" RIP poor boy x
- 2012-05-18 14:11 lmbb118
- Hi - I am a little confused by this. Did this dog go missing on 14th May & then was found by someone who failed to inform the appropriate authorities & has since then had this poor boy PTS? x
- 2012-05-18 14:04 Robbie55ww
- This is way out of line, what sort of time and patience did this so called Behaviourist spend with Jet Li. This person must be dragged from his evil pit and made accountable for such actions.
If this was my dog I would not hesitate in going to THE Sun newspaper, they know how to find scum like this and deal with it in a legal manner. A National paper that truely cares about the welfare of animals. Justice must prevail for this poor dog.
Run free at Rainbow Bridge, you can't be harmed now babes x
- 2012-05-18 13:56 Unknown
- So sorry to hear this.......Run Free little one until the day comes when you are reunited with the ones you love and who love you.
As for the murderer I think it is disgusting that he/she was allowed to give the nod for a dog, which was a scared rescue dog in the first place, and I like the others hope the owners will seek legal advice. My sincere sympathy to the owners of this handsome lad. x - 2012-05-18 13:53 liz
- I am so upset for you. I am really sorry. You must be so inconsolable right now. My dog has been missing for 4 weeks now & the pain you have been going through and what it must be now, is beyond any explanation. Justice must be done and questions wih the vet who didn't ask why or check his chip. I know it's no consolation but this is wrong. So sorry again. xxxxx

- Absolutely shocking! My heart breaks for you.. this is so so sad!
- 2012-05-18 13:11 janni0706
- RIP sweet boy, such sad circumstances. The name of this behaviourist needs to be named, what if they did the same to other dogs? My thoughts are with Jet's family at this very sad time x
- 2012-05-18 13:08 Angelfishsolo
- I feel that the name of this behaviourist who decided Jets fate should be made public as (s)he clearly is out of him/her mind!!!!
- 2012-05-18 12:51 Unknown
- Jonfiz. I agree with you the owners should legal advice on this. My thoughts are with Jet Li`s family who must be devastated at this. At least we know he is now playing happily at the bridge with his pals; free from harm, showing off his new wings. Night, night, sweetheart, sleep tight, and await your family at the bridge when the time comes. Sending your owners loads of comforting hugs and healing prayers for their sorrow. RIP Jet Li+++ PS I WOULD DEFINITELY SEEK LEGAL ADVICE IN THIS MATTER, AS I LIKE OTHERS ON THIS SITE FEEL "JUSTICE MUST BE DONE" This should never have happened without being reported to the relevant dog warden first. Hope yopu get justice for Jet Li soon. Keep us posted.
- 2012-05-18 12:27 Jonfiz
- words fail me!!! He did not even have the luxury of 7days like a little pouindie would have. Personally I would seek legal advice and sue the ruddy pants off this so called behaviourist, who legally should have reported the dog to the dog warden who would have scanned him for a chip and then he would have been reunited. My thoughts go out to the owners who must be absolutely distraught and I hope you have at least managed to get his body back to lay him to rest :-(

- Im so sorry RIP baby
Shocked and would love to know how this can happen!!! - 2012-05-18 11:17 SanBarn
- WHY? WHY? WHY? My heart goes out to the owners, what they must be going through right now does'nt bear thinking about.RIP Jet Li,run free at the bridge fella.xx
- 2012-05-18 10:43 katie
- If I were the owner Id be suing. He was chipped and someone who is a behaviourist should have, by law, handed him in or had him checked by a vet before making such a BAD move.Poor, poor boy and poor owners. I feel for them. Play happy at teh Bridge little lad.
- 2012-05-18 10:38 jobadger
- I'm so sorry little boy - no-one - nothing - can harm you now, Rest in Peace. xx
But yes - I too would like to know why.
The more I think about this boy and what's happened, the angrier I am for him and his owners. Who the hell gave permission for this to be done. Is this 'person' available to comment on DL? Some explanation is needed!Last edited: 2012-05-18 13:03:10 by jobadger - 2012-05-18 10:32 AlisonH
