She is an amazing dog. Fantastic with my daughter, they are inseparable. Too many people judge staffs mainly because if there is a dog attack, the papers put a pic of a staff up before finding out the breed. When I went to the kennels I chose the Gem because she was very sweet not because of her breed. I was not wrong I have people come and go quite a bit and everyone has fallen in love with her. I would advise anyone who is going to rescue a dog, clear your mind of what breed you think looks good and go for the dog you get drawn to because 9 out of 10 times that's the dog for you.

What a very lucky girl she is!! It sounds like she was homed just in the nick of time and this is a surprise to everyone, including the Dog Wardens!!

It's a bit of a strange one. Wonder why they told you that? On a good front, I have managed to get her friends with a lab and a jack they all play lovely together. I still have a little more work with socialising her but she is getting there.

I love that one too it is so hard to get a good photo of her, as soon as she sees the camera she runs away. It broke my heart people thinking she had been put to sleep xx

I have posted pics over to admin with todays Sun news paper. I have been keeping an eye on this page since I rescued her just in case her old owner ever did show up she is such an amazing dog. I can't believe no one came forward for her. Not that I would let her go now she is a part of the family.

Gem is sat with me now I rescued her from college Garth kennels on the 29th of June I have her papers and photos of her I can even take one of her now.

So sorry Gem, when will people stop breeding these poor staffies for a quick buck. They have no care as to their ultimate fate. There are beautiful young Staffies and Staff crosses being PTS every week, so, so sad. The rescues try so hard but just too many.RIP beautiful girl you didn't ask to be born. So sorry xxxx

it breaks my heart to read when a dog is put to sleep :-( i just wish that there where more people willing to adopt and rehome staffies. sh ereminds me of my beautiful staffy who's name is Jenna but we call her Jem for short. rip Gem. xxx

Hi All,

I am afraid I have to make a plee for help!! Gem is currently at Hathern Dog Rescue 07542164912 01509842327 but they are at breaking point and feel that Gem needs to be moved or found a forever home ASAP.
Due to lack of socialisation Gem is a little reactive with other dogs so would need to be the only dog in the home.
Please ring Hathern direct and say your enquiring about Gem.
