Welcome home Lilly from Liz and labs Holly and Lilly xx

Lilly is HOME!!! Just had a call from Laura to say a woman brought her back a few minutes ago. Laura, her mum and nan were so pleased they were crying, so didn't really manage to get the full story from them, other than the woman said she saw Lilly walking along behind someone who had her on a makeshift lead, so it looks as though the supposition that she was with someone was correct. Like I said, it sounded like joyous chaos, the humans were crying and the Lilly and the other dog in the house were very excited saying hello to each other.
Will try to speak to Debbie (Laura's mum) tomorrow to get the full story, but in the mean time, please move Lilly to the 'REUNITED' section!!!Last edited: 2012-06-05 15:57:48 by Amanja

Thinking about it, isn't it the Fleet dog show at Calthorpe Park tomorrow? Could someone get posters out there?
twiglet84
Hi guys, have shared on facebook. I'm in Fleet so could help this week, have you contacted Millbrook in Chobham? Will let the local dog walkers know, good luck x
Amanja
Been over to Aldershot today and put posters up in Rowhill Nature Reserve (not in the reserve, but on the notice board!), Manor Park, in the area near the Wellington Statue and on the entrances to the Aldershot Ranges. Don't necessarily think Lilly will have made it over here, but dog walkers may visit these places and then see her as it isn't that far from Ash.
Compiling the list of vets and hope to get an email out to at least 75 this evening.
Have a day out planned tomorrow, but will try to get in touch when I get home.
Hope we hear something soon. x
Amanja
Hi. I've contacted the RSPCA branches within a 25 mile radius and one of them already has her poster up on Facebook, so that's a start. As I live 20 miles away, I can't get over to help poster every day, but I am compiling a list of vets in the same radius and will send out a copy of the poster to as many as I can, tonight, to see if they will put it up in their notice board.
I have a message out to Laura to see if I can meet up with her and/or her Mum to poster in the local area this weekend. Am waiting to hear back.
Come on, you locals, is there anyone out there who could help us 'spread the word'? x
Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire
Thanks to all who are helping Lilly's owners !
Please do get as any posters up as you can and gradually spread them over a wider area .
I did suggest to her owner that they tried to get the local papers to run a story about Lilly but apparently they wouldnt do one. Do any of you have connections within local media ? If you do PLEASE try and get Lilly some coverage ! X
Amanja
I can do that at the weekend, unless anyone else can get there sooner?

Bobsmum, is there any time over the weekend we could meet up to distribute some posters. I know the area vaguely (I used to live in Aldershot), but I am sure that between us, Laura and a map we could work out what areas to hit.

Anyone else out there able to help over the weekend? Please call or text me on 07545 569220 if you can.

my printer has gone down but if anyone can get some posters printed and speak to the greyhound pub on the corner of shawfield to get posters up on the bollards. Will be the long bank holiday weekend soon and that pub will be packed full of locals, someone knows something. lets get lilly home xx
Dog WardenPete the Dog (Guildford Borough Council)
The Council had a "tweetathon" yesterday (i know..) and i made sure that a link to Lillys poster was tweeted as well as a plea for information to come my way anonymously. Nothing as yet. Keep postering. I saw several around longacre. I think posters outside the Ash schools is a good ploy- if mum and dad have bought home a NEW dog- the kids may recognise her and call (they all have mobiles now!).

Hi all looking at the info it does look like someone may have Lilly or looking after her but people dont realise that by law a found dog should be reported to the local dog warden! anyhow i can also help if needed i dont know this area but if there are local shops this maybe a good starting point as the posters could be put in shop windows maybe a kind newsagent wouldnt mind putting them in the local newspapers? that way if anyone has her locally them there is more change of a neighbour seeing a new dog! if any help is needed to do local shops schools ect then i dont mind giving a hand as i say dont know the area well but am happy to help x

I spoke to Laura this evening. Lily is seven months old and quite a shy dog. She jumped out of an open window last Wednesday and went to their next door neighbour's garden. Unfortunately the next door neighbour has a dog who chased Lily off and she hasn't been seen since. There was one sighting of her at Long Acre, but Laura doesn't think it is a reliable sighting.
Laura and her mum have contacted both the Rushmoor and Guildford dog wardens, local police, local rescue centre and have put up some posters. Laura wasn't sure exactly who had been contacted, as this has been done by her Mum. She will ask her Mum to phone me tomorrow so we can see if there are any others we should be targetting.
They have been told by one of the dog wardens that there is a strong possibility someone has taken Lily in, due to the complete dearth of sightings of her.
They would really appreciate some help to raise Lily's profile to increase the likelihood of a sighting of her if she is still out and about, or to make it harder for someone else to keep hold of her.
I am very new to this website. My gut feel is that we should be postering, but can anyone else suggest anything else we should be doing?
Also, any volunteers out there willing to help us out? I work during the day, but am off all the long weekend and can do any time, except Monday until about 3:00pm.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Mandi x

Hello, im a dog warden and live in ash. will ask around and email people I know. will keep my eyes peeled and poster. have also placed a poster in my car. xxx

Hi Laura
Any news of Lilly? What Amanja is saying about the posters is true the more that go up the better, if you suspect that she has been taken then someone somewhere may see a poster & recognise Lilly have you contacted local rescues & Battersea & postured the local vets? I notice Lilly is chipped so that's good & as she is young your contact details haven't changed also have you reported her missing/taken with them as this will then be flagged up with anyone who scans her! Please do let us know if you need help with posters, searching & in what areas, we are all on here to help & can get a little group going & work on areas I hope this helps x
Amanja
Laura, where are there posters up? I am new to this, but the pages I have read, especially those where the dog has been found, really seem to indicate that postering is the way to go. If she is out somewhere, the more posters there are up, the more liklihood that if someone sees her they will realise she is lost and, more importantly, contact you. Conversely, if someone has her, if you poster, poster, poster, it might make it too hot for them to keep her. I work, but am more than happy to come out with you either in the evening, or at the weekend to plaster the area with posters and to ask shops, vets, groomers, libraries etc. to put a poster up to raise awareness of her loss and your plight. Just let me know if you would like me to help and I'll call/text you.
Are you, or someone hleping you, regularly calling the rescue centres etc., just in case she has been handed in and they haven't made the connection that she is Lily?
Come on Lily, show yourself!
Mandi
Xxlauraxx
thank you so much for your comment that is very kind , we sat in the car all nite for 2 nite and there is no sighting but we are beging to think someone has got her . we have done door to door and we will keep looking xxx
Amanja
Laura,
Do you think the sighting in Long Acre was a good one? Have you been out and done any scenting in that area? An early posting by the dog warden implied he thought someone might have her. Is that still his opinion?
We live in Basingstoke, but could come over in the evenings and walk our dog, if you think there is somewhere we should be focusing our efforts. I used to live in Aldershot, but we didn't walk our dog in Ash at all, so I don't really know the area. We went onto the Aldershot army ranges more.
Hoping Lily finds her way home soon.

Thankyou Pete the Dog ! I am bumping Lily up as her owners have had a sighting of her this morning at 4. 30 am in a car parking area in LONG ACRE , ASH . She was sighted by a gentleman who said she was just sitting still watching a fox. Her owners are going to search and poster this area thoroughly and I have suggested they try to do some scenting and knock door to door to make sure everyone local to this sighting is aware that Lily could be hiding up nearby or maybe in someone's garden. Fingers crossed Lily is found very soon xx

Dog WardenPete the Dog (Guildford Borough Council)
Can people PLEASE put lots of posters up!After speaking with the owner, i am SURE someone has taken this dog and is keeping it. LOTS of posters will help kick their conscience if this is the case!!
