- Have spoken with owners - Ozzy has been sighted today but he is backing off from humans - I have recommended a BBQ at dust and given scenting advice = he is running in an area of 8 fields but seems contained- the dogs trust trap is too big for owners vehicle but we have talked through how to use a crate with a manual (cord operated) close and this may work. Owners are going to return at dusk and try the bbq and some smelly garlic sausages

- Hi Maggie, sorry I don't have a trap here. In the past Dogs Trust in Newbury have lent me one, I seem to remember it's a bit rusty but it did the job. If you do get one put a nice juicy raw chicken wing on the hook, means they have to give it a good tug to eat it and the door closes securely behind them. Good luck, sorry not around much this weekend, Jubillee and all that. I'm sure Ozzy has found a nice safe place to watch the world go past and gain a bit of confidence, please take heed of Angus's comments below, she has years of experience, you could also try a squeaky toy if he loikes that sort of thing, but if you see him keep very low, lie on the ground and wimper, he will get curious and need to investigate.

- Thankyou Angus and Lisa, have been back this morning and nothing yet! Am going back later and will try some clothing etc. Otherwise how do i borrow one of these traps? This maybe a v good idea? My worry is its a week tomorrow but am guessing his found food and there is def fresh water in the ditches.... I'm travelling 10/12 miles a day from Newbury to search but it so hard with a young family to look after too! I'll feel terrible should anything happen to him but its a waiting game i think..... Many Thanks to you all xx

- will try and get hold of Meeka - in the mean time lay some food and clothing that smells of you in a safe place in the field, try to keep him contained in the area - if you do see him, get on the floor and talk gently to yourself, sing, giggle any happy nioses - do not call his name or chase him allow him to approach you in his own time - throw food and reassure him at all times
