- Broxtowe DW. Siuch a shame that Sonny was pts. Staffies do seem to get a bad reputation, when I know they are usually good natured dogs, as we once had one in the family. He probably ~WAS made to be that way. Also I recently heard that some SO CALLED breeders are selling Pit Bulls as Staffies, to avoid prosecution; I believe you can own a Pit Bull with a special license? I think whatever the breed in some cases it`s irresponsible ownership. Night, night, sweetheart, sleep tight, now in God`s care, where no harm can come to you. Am sure you are wearing your Angel wings now, and playing at Rainbow Bridge with your pals. Run free Sonny RIP.

- Thanks for the update Broxtowe DW. I know that you were hoping Sonny could be found a rescue space and I'm sure we all appreciate how difficult your job can be at times. RIP Sonny XX

- Apologies...Seems like there was alot of confusion with the wording sorted. Such a sad ending for this boy. I just wish I was able to give him a final cuddle the day we came to see him. RIP Sonny, run free at the bridge xLast edited: 2012-06-07 02:53:17 by Neil

- Thank you for your honesty. You have a kind heart. Sorry you had to be involved with Sonny and his sad ending. The idiot who owned him must have trained him to be this way. Scum. Run free with all the doggies gone before you to Rainbow Bridge :(

- No cover up here im afraid just confusion over the wording sorted, it was not meant to imply that the dog had found a rescue space. Just that we no longer needed assistance. Unfortunatly sonny failed his final assessment he was found to be highly aggressive towards other dogs possibly due to no sacialisation but more likley he had been trained to react this way. He was deemed to be a high risk dog so unfortunatly and with a sad heart was put to sleep. I could not bring myself to make anyone elses weekend as miserable has mine had been thus my delay in letting you all know. Please send out a message to stop breeding staffords.

- I have a lot of people asking me on fb if this boy was put to sleep or was rescued, and if he was rescued the name of the rescue as they would like to rehome him if he hasn't already been rehomed. Thanks.

- Can I ask for calm please until we can verify one way or another what has happened here...which may be hard to do on a Bank holiday...
- 2012-06-04 08:40 Unknown
- Can this definitely be confirmed that Sonny was sadly pts please?

- Erm...Sonny rescued is the first i've heard of it. We were the ones that rescued the other Staffy called Ace. We originally wanted to rescue both but Sonny wouldn't get along with Ace and we was advised to rescue Ace on his own as we have other dogs. When picking Ace up on saturday morning we asked what was happening with Sonny. The woman at the front desks reply was Sonny was taken to the vets early this morning and PTS. We were heartbroken...so to my understanding this poor boy should be listed in Rainbow Bridge. You trying to cover Sonny's death up or what??? Sorry i'm not standing for that!!!Last edited: 2012-06-04 01:53:01 by Neil

- dewilliams42. You are righ. Many people confuse these dogs with Pit bulls, and I believe even those can be ok in the right hands, as I know a lady that owned one a few years back (Pit Bull) before the new laws. She had no trouble with him at all. In fact when my sister had her Stafie (Lovely temperament) someone who came to visit her insisted it WAS a Pit Bull and started screaming with terror whilst almost standing on the chair. I think sometimes it isn`t the dog whatever the breed, but just irresponsible owners. Anyway good luck sweetheart in your future.
