- I am so pleased to say that GG has been found safe and well and is now back at home. She was found by me on the Ashridge Estate not far from where we lost her. She came out of the bushes as she heard my voice but was growling at strangers as she was so frightenend. I am overwhelmed by the response of the people on this website and those at Ashridge. Thank you so much. If you have lost a dog - please keep looking and don't give up hope.

- apparently she has been seen running around the fields behind/below the Monument. Two kind men tried to coax her but she didn't come to them. They informed the Gift Shop and the lady phoned me. My husband is trying to follow in the direction they said she went. It sounds like she is still on the Estate.

- No your right they aren't helpful on the phone, but if someone finds her and calls them- at least they know who she is and your already looking for her! The dog warden who called us- said it makes he's job worth it when they can reunite with owners:) keeping my fingers crossed for you x

- I'm sorry I was delayed at work this morning and by the time I got home 10 mins ago my husband was already out with the dog locally.
I've added her details to Your Chesham on Facebook and we will go to Ashridge tomorrow if she's not already been found.
As you know even in this rain Ashridge is very popular with dog walkers so there will be lots of people around. Also re the Dog Warden it would be worth contacting the warden that covers Ivinghoe because it's not far from the Bridgewater Monument (at the cafe) to Ivinghoe Beacon. - 2012-06-03 09:31 susi76
- thank you for your post and help. I called a dog warden on an out of hours number yesterday and have to admit to being a little disappointed. There didn't seem to be much he was going to do...maybe you are talking about a different warden? My husband is out now (has been since 6:30am) . We are desperately worried about her.

- Hi so sorry gg is missing I have posted alerts on Facebook as we live in Northchurch!
Have you called the local dog warden as our dog was found by them and they knew we were looking as I had called them before she was found! She was very scared and nervous but as soon as they scanned her they knew why! Really hope she is found safely soon, dogs and deers it's a nightmare best of luck I'm sure she will be found x - 2012-06-03 07:51 Jayne - Founder Doglost.

- Hi, we are near Chesham too - Chartridge side. GG can be quite nervous around other dogs but she is friendly. She hasn't been lost before so it's hard to predict her behaviour. We walked a big loop, staring the Berko side of the big open fields and walking over to the left (overlooking Aldbury) and then on to the cafe for lunch. We lost her after leaving the cafe.
Her collar is brown leather with a pinkish dog bone shaped tag that says 'I am microchipped' on one side and 'reward for safe return 07810 837319' on the other side. She might be better off if you crouch down.
Thank you for your replies. - 2012-06-02 21:38 Mel
- Is she friendly ie likely to approach me if I'm standing up offering her a treat or would it be better if I sat on the floor without looking at her?
Also what colour was her collar? I don't want to try to grab the wrong dog!
I'm in the outskirts of Chesham (Latimer side) so don't go to Ashridge everyday.
If you are back up there tomorrow ask if you can put a poster in the cafe and as you are aware there are plenty of trees around the parking area that you can carefully attach posters to. - 2012-06-02 21:18 susi76
- Thank you so much. She did disappear off after some deer but we lost sight of her in the trees and she vanished. we will be back searching tomorrow too. She isn't at all familiar with the area and we live about 15 miles away. All help gratefully received.

- We'll be walking at Ashridge Estate with our dog tomorrow morning so will keep an eye out. There are a lot of roe deer in this area so it's entirely possible she chased some.
There are a lot of horse riders in this area, I'll print off a poster and will drop it off in the stables that we walk past which is situated the other side of the Albury Road nearer Berko. - 2012-06-02 17:35 Jytte - Area Volunteer - West Yorkshire
