Daxie Helen - yes I was told after poisting adverts that she is a red brindle, so I will change my ads. Sherlockbones(Dee) - thank you for the tips I didn't think of the postmen, there is nothing the family can do at the moment as they have gone to Scotland to get married and will not be back until a week on Sunday, but I will pass on your ideas when they come back. Thanks LizLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I hope there is some news about this little poppet, I've e-mailed lots of Dachie people today with the details and a copy of the poster. Just for everyones info, Dachshund people call this colour Brindle and not Black and Tan which looks quite different. If she is picked up anywhere where there is some knowledge of the breed this description might be confusing. Best of luck in finding her soon. Please keep us updatedLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Liz - have you checked with local Gypsy liaison officer whether there are any travelling camps nearby? Worth giving them a photo just in case they see any dog similar when on inspections - but be careful not to accuse their "clients" of theft when speaking to them. Also poster the local Royal Mail sorting office, where all the posties meet in the morning - they all know their patch very well at will notice a strange new yappy dog. Also delivery men of any sort - paperboys, milkmen if you still have them. Enlist the help of local children and get them to spread the word - kids on the street know hundreds of other kids and gossip like crazy. Contact all the local papers and radio stations. See if there is a local online forum for Rotherham and place a message there. Email the poster to everyone you know and ask them to email all their friends - start a chain email, they work brilliantly. Contact breed rescue and any local breeders of daxies just in case she ends up their way. i'm sure i'll think of more things for you to do shortly! Keep postering... poster poster poster.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Liz - don't forget to call further afield - just in case. Can't stress how important it is to get posters up literally everywhere. Make Rotherham Ruby's town....Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

She was either taken or escaped from the garden as the fence was broken and the wood blocking the hole had been moved, there was no witnesess, I have made them a poster to copy and put up in their area, I have sent the picture to admin, they have also contacted the police, vets, and sancruaries in the area. Liz we'll get the details above changed to say chipped, it does seem to contradict itself. Once the photo is here, we'll get helpers in the S postal code emailed so they can start postering. I am right in that she was taken from a garden, wasn't I? Were there any witnesses do you know? Anything that gives us a clue? Can you make sure the owners call pounds not just locally but all around the yorkshire area... call other local police stations not just the one in the area Ruby disappeared.. and Poster poster poster!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, my name is Liz and I am a friend of the family, the dog is such a sweetheart and used to belong to their niece who recently died so they are extremely upset at her loss, they just had a microchipped at the beginning of the month. Thank you all for your help in this matter. LizLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
