I'm a volunteer with the Tameside and Glossop branch and had the pleasure of walking 'Donny'. I have to say he's a lovely lovely lad and it was a real pleasure. I remember the heavens were about to open when we were on our way back so I had to get a jog on which he seemed to quite enjoy. I was running like the clappers but Cody was only just breaking into a light trot! We made it back before the hail stone came down though :)

I'd heard that day there had been a call to say someone thought he was their dog so when I asked yesterday I was thrilled when it was confirmed he had been reunited.

Thank goodness for iluvhoundz and doglost for providing the facility. I'm disappointed I hadn't seen his details sooner too but how fantastic there are so many people on the look out and helping each other.

Fantastic ending for a lovely dog. Well done everyone xxx
Jackie

Thank god you saved him, I don't know why but I had a bad feeling about him didn't want anything bad happening to him if he became too hot to handle. How long had you had I
Him at the pound did he end up. Even thrown out o the streets ? Massive well done and welcome home Cody X
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Thanks for saving him iluvhounds...
iluvhoundz
Hi Liana - He got to the RSPCA because they loaned me an emergency kennel whilst I found a rescue place for him, as he was out of time at the pound and they were totally full to bursting. The RSPCA branch then offered to take him for rehoming, as he's such a lovely lad. Unfortunately, I hadn't seen this thread and he wasn't chipped, so we'd no idea of his story :( So glad he's safe back home now with a family that love him! :)Last edited: 2012-09-01 20:14:20 by iluvhoundz

valerieWA7
Sending lots of good luck wishes to Cody's family. I hope this is him. xxxxxxx
jollyloluk
fingers crossed , i would love to see the owners face if it is him
LYDNSYD
OMG - just had a look at the photos' of the dog at the RSPCA in Glossop and if this isn't Cody then it must be his identical twin! I've got everything crossed that it is him!!
iluvhoundz
I've just had a call from Glossop & Tameside RSPCA about this boy - I act as an intermediate sighthound rescue and this lad looks just like the boy I got out of the pound and placed with them but unfortunately he wasn't chipped and I hadn't seen these details. Cody's owners are going to see 'Donny' on Friday, so keeping everything crossed that he is their lovely boy and that he'll soon be reunited with his family and safe back home! He had a very near miss :(
valerieWA7
Wow! The dog at RSPCA Glossop is very like Cody. I really hope it is him. Please keep us updated! XXXX
Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire
Thanks merlintrude and jollyloluk !
jollyloluk owners are aware of the dog you have seen at the RSPCA Glossop and are VERY hopeful that is is him and they say he looks identical to Cody !! They have been in contact with the kennels this dog is being held at but have to go via the RSPCA to view him and have left messages with the RSPCA . They are going to try to see this dog ASAP . Fingers and everything else crossed it is him !! Xxx Last edited: 2012-08-29 16:26:04 by Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire

Advertised in this weeks Countryman's Weekly magazine.
Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire
Cosy is still missing and he has been added to the Countrymans weekly list
B30
If Cody is still missing please put him on the list for a CMW advert
Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire
there has been no news of Cosy or of the man that stole him. His owners have followed up on several reports of similar dogs in kennels but sadly none of them have been him.
CHERYL COOP WILSON
does anyone live in the brecks/wickersley area of Rotherham ?? I have just reported to the owners seeing a dog very similiar looking to Cody with a man walking from Wickersley to the Brecks area I unfortunately was on foot else I would have tried to follow in my car, owners not familiar with this area so it would be great if anyone close could help please

CHERYL COOP WILSON
can't believe there's been no leads on this lad even with the cctv footage!! someone must recognise this bloke !x
CHERYL COOP WILSON
Hi sorry but don't know much about this breed but are they similiar to a greyhound ?? just a thought that he may have been mistaken for a racing dog and for dog tracks to be made aware of him ??
Maggie
Yes they have him on CCTV from when he got out of his van, he had the limp then.

Thank you for the suggestion poochpal x
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
Just a thought, is there any video of him before he kicked the fence? Did he have the pronounced limp then? Maybe he injured his foot kicking the panel enough to need hospital treatment? With luck he broke it. Worth checking taking photos to the local A & E departments?
Maggie
thank you racheljane - I would think that the police are dealing with things like that :)

I have shared Cody's link on my Facebook page, I have friends around the Wakefield and Barnsley area. Just a thought has anyone contacted the traveller liaison officers for sites around Wakefield and Barnsley?

We have an excellent description of him via the video footage and as soon as possible there will be some film footage of him distributed which will hopefully be seen by someone who knows him and or his van !! The police have issued a crime number and posters will be going up.
This theft and the description of the thief will be spread widely on Facebook ! Hoping that Cody is very soon ! X
