- Hi all. Just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to you all for your fantastic support, we are all totally gutted and can't really believe we will never see our beautiful Stanley ever again, but at least we have some closure and won't be forever wondering where he is and if he is safe and well. We're sure his spirit is having a whale of a time chasing rabbits and running free out there somewhere. Sweet dreams Stanley xx

- I am so very very sorry to hear about Stanley, may he now run free, run safely, with the sun on his back and a breeze on his face. Too many of these babies are losing their lives on the railway lines, can I urge everyone for the sake of Stanley and other dogs to sign and circulate the petition to Network Rail http://www.change.org/petitions/national-campaign-for-cassie-s-law-for-safer-railways-for-dog-and-owner. We are currently in communication with Network Rail on behalf of Badger & Treacle, 2 others who took a wrong turn and lost their lives, and would welcome any support that people feel able to give in driving for change for the safety, wellbeing and respect of our dogs. Many thanks. RIP Stanley xxx

- Thanks again for all the support out there. Microchip people do have our landline details – Stanley’s ‘holiday home’! and I have requested son to contact them again to add my mobile no. as well. Area has been extended to 100 miles around Harlow, Essex area and also Epsom area re alerting vets, so will hopefully cover the area between here and Essex. Still trying to get posters up in as wide an area as possible but printer/laminator sometimes on a go-slow!! Thank you Janem re Rosebery School, in all the confusion hubby and I thought each other had gone there already. So far I have contacted/registered with Battersea Lost Dogs line (inc Windsor and Brands Hatch), Police, Dog Wardens/Rangers in Epsom and Mole Valley area, (still trying to get through to Kingston upon Thames re Chessington area), Network Rail, City of London Open Spaces Ashtead Estate office, Epsom Canine Rescue, and some local dog kennels. Friends, neighbours and family also out there looking and putting up posters so many thanks to them too. Thanks for all your suggestions and good ideas and will follow up on them asap. Any others gratefully received.

- Have shared on FB, lots of friends in the area. Hate to say it but have owners been in touch with Rail authorities?
- 2012-06-18 22:05 janem
- Have posted on facebook and this will be picked up by my 'doggy friends' in Epsom. My daughter is at Rosebery and has also posted to facebook and is taking in posters to school tommorrow. I have also posted on to www.rescueremedies.co.uk on their lost and found site, lots of people there in the south east who have contacts with wardens etc. No joy either when I was out on the common this morning but will keep looking

- Saw your poster by the bridge when I walked my dogs today. Have you got posters up at the Wells ? Obviously impossible to know what direction he has gone in, but loads of posters are important. Can you get posters at The Cricketers pub and The Jolly Coopers ? he could be attracted by the smell of food and the ducks. The social club by the green as well. Hope you get some news soon. Good idea about the Petlog people, make sure they have your number if Stanleys family are not at home.
- 2012-06-18 21:44 csquaredb
- Valerie, Does Petlog (microchip people) have your details? If not, he may have been found and they could be trying to contact an empty house? No sign on Ashtead common I'm afraid, but spread the word to everyone we met. You could try the Malden rushett pubs too - could easily end up over that way if he's headed in this direction. Hope you get a sighting soon.

- From here he could go across the road, then the fields to Horton Country Park , so make sure they know and at the Polo place. That then leads on to the Horton Golf club, take them a poster they are usually very helpful. Or he could have gone up Stew Ponds direction, my dogs always go straight to the fisherman up there to snaffle some bait (luncheon meat and suchlike) or maybe if he is really hungry he would go for the ducks ? Or the ducks at the pond on the Cricket Green.
Tell the builders working on the new houses at Noble Park, they have a caravan/office place you could take a poster. Tell Roseberry School ? A lot of the girls walk that route across the foot bridge near where he went missing. Hope some of these suggestions help. - 2012-06-17 23:36 Valerie
- Thank you all for keeping a look out for Stanley, it is much appreciated. He has a black collar with studs all the way round, and a tag with his full name and home (Essex) number on. He is friendly with strangers and is happy to approach other dogs, but because he is a 'teenager' he can sometimes be a bit boisterous especially if other dog is on a lead, which through training and socializing was improving. Thank you for your suggestion re City of London Ashtead estate office, we will contact them tomorrow.Last edited: 2012-06-18 17:30:00 by Valerie

- Is he wearing a collar? Is he friendly and will he come to strangers? Will he be happy to approach other dogs?
You should contact City of London Ashtead estate office on 01372 279083 - they can then get their wardens and volunteers to keep a look out on Ashtead common - only a short distance from where Stan went missing. No sign today, but will keep looking over our way.

- This is very near me. I have sent details on to dog walking friends and family (my nephew is local policeman) in the area and asked them to circulate. We will all keep an eye out for him. Hope he is found safely very soon.

- Stan went missing on footpath by the railway line between Wells Road and Castle View, at the Castle View footbridge end, at approx 11:30pm on Thur evening. Normally lives in Essex area with our son and daughter in law (owners) but was staying with us for 2 weeks. His left back leg is slightly under-developed and has no white markings.Last edited: 2012-06-16 21:28:35 by Valerie
