Hello all, its been a while but just to update you all, Olly as he is now known has not been claimed since we found him last summer. Therefore we have now adopted him as part of the family and I must say he is well and truly a happy little fella, albeit a domineering one since he has his paws under the table. Despite his bossy nature he is an absolutley charming little dog and I'm glad to have him as part of our family. Although I'm well aware that if his original owners turns turn up I will have to hand him over, this seems very unlikely. I'd just like to say that this site is doing an amazing job...keep up the good work guys :)
RW
Sue, he has all four feet firmly under the table!!! I was just wondering the procedure for adopting him. The paperwork I signed for the dog warden is dated around two weeks ago (although it was nearly a week before they even bothered to come out) and they told me I could keep him after 30 days. I was also told he would never legally be mine so where do I stand in terms of microchipping and/or tattoo-ing? He really feels part of the family now and I very much doubt his owner will come forward after 3 weeks. I'd just like some guidance on the next steps if possible?

He sounds like he's got his feet under the table RW!! It's good to know that he'll have a home no matter what XX

Just a quick update... Still, no one has made a claim on little Olly (as we have now named him), he's doing fine and I have to say that I'm really bonding with him as are my children and husband, and our own family dog!!! He's gained some weight since we found him and appears to be much more content. He's also learning 'toilet' times, how to obey simple commands and also to stay off the furniture! Although, he did chew my favourite sandals. Well thats the news so far, I'm still doing what I can to find his owner but if no one comes forward I want to adopt him.

You are a star RW! xx

I still have him in my care and he's doing fine. Still had nobody come forward to claim him yet. The dog warden has been a total waste of time to be honest. I reported him as found via email the day I took him in (offices were closed at the time), and it wasn't until late friday afternoon that they contacted me. I'm still happy to keep him until the owners are located, if they are that is. We are beginning to think that he may have been abondoned due to the lack of contact from anybody claiming to own him. It's such a shame because he is a lovely little dog, who has taken quite a shine to my socks!!! He is very content and we are doing all we can, I know how it is to lose a dog so I will continue to keep him safe for as long as it takes.

RW
Sorry no, his tail isn't docked

I dont think it is the same dog, but could it be lost dog 35702?
RW
I have had him scanned and unfortunatley he has no chip. As yet, not one person has come forward. I am still posting on Facebook, checking here regularly, poster is still up and the local newspaper has published in the lost and found section.
He is very happy and has found a friend in my own dog. For the time being we have temporarily named in Oliver (as in Oliver Twist) which seems very fitting. I will update further regarding any developments.

Thanks RW for posting this little boy in here and doing all you can to help him home, what a cutie!

I know Vicky / Hippy chick rang and spoke to you earlier, she asked me to post here as she is having a few problems with her login.

RW has contacted the local dog warden, RSPCA and vets and is doing a great job. This boy hasn't been scanned for a chip yet and RW will be getting this done asap either via the dog warden or a local vet. Hope his owner is found soon but I know he is in safe hands until then.

I have notified the dog warden and the police that I have found him. He appears to be very well cared for so I find it strange that nobody has reported him missing. I have offered to look after him until his owners are found. He is a lovely little dog, very friendly and curious!
skippy
yeah - your second picture makes a difference :-) Hope his owners turn up soon
RW
Hi, no I don't think this is Billy, sorry :( I have had a look at Billy's pictures and both dogs are very different. I will upload a clearer picture. Hope Billy is found soon though.
skippy
