Just to let you know, for all those involved in Bridget's tracking and capture, I will be buying drinks in The Three Legged Cross in Binfield tonight at 7.30!!
Neighbark
I do so love a happy ending.....Well done Team bridget! Linsie - you should write novels - I'd buy and read them ! :-)
jansus
what a fantastic rescue - my daughter has just got one of these and I know that for little dogs they can run fast - its a bit like trying to catch a zig zagging sausage ( no pun intended) So well done that man!

Sue S
Excellent news. Well done.
BonBon
Couldn't agree more, Linsie. Just a shame he is so far away. I know I will be going to bed happier than I have been the last few nights. I still can't believe she has survived the 5 nights out alone at such a young age. She may be very cute and tiny but she is one helluva strong girl.Last edited: 2012-07-04 22:32:33 by BonBon
Linsie
I know I am definately going to sleep well tonight after that. I think though Matthew will definately have the best sleep of all.
BonBon
Linsie - thanks for updating and uploading the reunited photo. Against Ian's hands and chin, it really does show how small she is. Think we will all sleep well tonight knowing she is safe. Lots of ((hugs)) Carole

OH wow....my hearts beating just hearing about it....
Linsie
WOW what a night!!!!!! We had gone to Tescos' who were really nice to let us plaster their car park with posters. Then headed over to Carters Hill. Drove into Carters Hill and there was a Mini Cooper in the middle of the road all the doors open and this women with the most awful look on her face (one that said i have just hit a dog type look!) didn't think anything of it until after all this happened. They didn't say anything so we drove past. Pulled in to a bit of a gravel layby bit and this guy saw the posters i had in my back window and asked if it was our dog that was missing. Told him we were helping out and he said well its running up and down the road over there. I thought he meant the King Charles Spaniel that is constantly on the run around the road, but then he said no its a... little brown and black one. Turned the car round (with a rather impressive wheel spin, if I do say so myself) and then just as we turned the corner there she was...... well all for about 5 seconds and then she took off running. So we went after her, my daughter dove through the hedge into the field after her, and then the chase was on. Ian then caught up with us, and started calling her, at this point we had lost sight of her. The Ian saw her disappearing across a field, and all i can say is Usain Bolt eat your heart out. I blinked and Ian had gone. With me trying to keep up (more like collapsing after 5 ft) lost sight of Ian after getting three quarters through the field. Decided to double back and then called Ian to find out where he was. At which point he said the best 4 words i could of heard I HAVE GOT HER! She had run out of the field and down a rather busy road, where a van was coming up, luckily a girl Ian knew was at the end of the road more or less pounced on Bridget and got her before she got any further.

I am just sooo glad she has been found. She has a little problem with her eye (looks like she walked into something) but apart from that she doesn't look like a dog that has been out for nearly a week.

Ian now has her snuggled up with her grandma (ian owns bridgets grandma) likely to be a vet visit in the morning but for now a lot of snuggles.

Welcome home little girl and stay safe from now onwards :-)
Daliman
Thankyou so much guys. A very very big thankyou to Linsie :-)
BonBon
Linsie, once you have calmed down, please give more detail on her capture!
Linsie
omg I am still shaking I have that much adrenaline running through me. So happy.
BonBon
Fantastic news. Such a relief to know she is safe and sound. She even looked relieved and happy to be in Ian's arms (friend of owners) and her little tail started wagging as she cuddled into his neck. She is such a little girl, can hardly believe she has been found. Will leave it to Linsie to give details as she was there when Ian caught her. Stay very safe now, Bridget, and enjoy your well deserved rest with your 'grannie'. Hopefully see you again on Saturday. Lots of hugs Carole
PS If you see a poster anywhere, please can you take it down.Last edited: 2012-07-04 20:25:43 by BonBon

Hi. I've posted messages and links to Bridgets Doglost page on as many websites, forums and pages as I can think of. A member of Mumsnet was going to Facebook locally, but her friends had already beaten her to it. It sounds like she is getting good coverage. I've also tweeted. HTH. X

I have just printed off about 100 posters, will be back out again tonight.
BonBon
Great support on Bridget's facebook page and the word is spreading. Terry, can you keep this page updated with any specific facebook postings as not all helpers are on FB. Thanks.

Linsie - not sure I can make tomorrow evening but will get back to you on this later. Carole
Linsie
Hi BonBon,

Sorry just seen your message, was going a bit crazy and posting Bridgets information on any Facebook sites i could find (must of hit over 40 sites by now). I will be at work Thursday day, but will be around about 18:30.
Daliman
There is now a Find Bridget Facebook group if any of you would like to join it that would be great :-) http://www.facebook.com/groups/179219342208158/
BonBon
Sue S - owner informs me he has emailed a poster to the golf club.
Linsie - could we meet up on Thursday and work together postering?
Linsie
I am in billingbear walking round now
Sue S
Have you contacted Billingbear Park golf club?
BonBon
Back and now drying off! Thanks for the call, Jayne. Have now spoken to Linsie and we will keep in touch. The sighting was on Friday in Billingbear Lane. The person who saw her said she ran into a yard and therefore assumed she lived there. Residents of properties have either been spoken to or posters put through doors. This is a small hamlet surrounded by fields with either tall crops or high grass which makes it very difficult for searching, particularly for such a small dog, and the surrounding roads are narrow with very few parking places and very fast traffic. Lots more posters need to go up in a wider area to increase awareness as she couldhave travelled further than originally thought. Have spoken with owner about this. Put up remaining posters I had with me and handed some to dog walkers.
Unfortunately, I'm not aailable tomorrow but, if she is not found by Thursday, I will resume my search. Carole

Good luck everyone,Hope to see Bridget reunited safe and sound very soon.X

DEFINITE SIGHTING just reported and now being investigated but relates to Friday. I'm off to join the search. Carole
BonBon
Morning. Just catching up. Andrew is not on the radio this morning plus he is more of a cat person, although that shouldn't really make a difference. Although she is out and about this morning, Nicki's next rogramme is not until Saturday. Also I believe her email address is whiteman@bbc.co.uk. The person who may react is Rory McAllister who is a big dog lover. He now only does the travel news but you might be able to email a message and poster to him at berkshire.travel@bbc.co.uk He also lives locally so even if he can't slip it in to his travel broadcasts making him aware wouldn't go amiss.
Keep up the good work. We are with you all the way. Carole
Bridgets Dad
Just to let you know I have emailed both of the presenters mentioned. Lets pray they feel for Bridget enough to give her a mention!
Sue S
Another local animal rescue is DBARC. I can't find an email address for them but their phone number is 0118 9341122 and website is www.dbarc.org.uk
Sue S
Another presenter to try is Nicki Whiteman - she has a dog herself. nicki.whiteman@bbc.co.uk
Sue S
Try Radio Berkshire again - you could try emailing Andrew Peach who does the morning show - andrew.peach@bbc.co.uk
Bridgets Dad
I have booked an Ad for the Bracknell news and two of its sister papers this weeek. Hope it works. I plan to return to Binfield this weekend. Thanks for this afternoons search. so much apprieciated.
BonBon
Just another thought. I noticed the photos you have on your own posters show a sideways view of Bridget. Might be an idea to send a copy of this to admin@doglost, quoting ID40810, so that it can be put in extra image box. This will help show just how small she is.
BonBon
Hi - Just returned having spent the last cuple of hours driving and walking around the area, all along the public footpaths surrounding the house and the roads. Sadly, nothing to report. Have also put more posters up, handed one in to Ryslip Kennels (who only had a hand written note about Bridget) and, although a little out of the area, have put posters up in Larks Hill which is a popular dog walking area.
To be honest, because of the fencing etc.I have a gut feeling Bridget is still within the confines of the house boundary unless she managed to get out into the fields somehow. I think you said you had left her bedding and travel box with Ian? If so, is it possible for this to be placed near to where she ran off from, rather than the direction she went? Lost dogs often return to the point they went from. Obviously it would need to be protected from the rain. Could the camera be focused on this or is it too far away? As you have mentioned rabbits, could she have gone down a rabbit hole? Did you see any during your searches?
Have done a search on radio stations but all the local ones we did have seem to have either disappeared or merged with the larger ones - unless anyone knows anything different?
Not sure milkmen still deliver in that area but giving the postman some posters to put up in the depot, have in his/her van and hand out to other drivers would be good. Do paper boys/girls come out that far? If they do, would imagine they come from one of the Binfield shops so worth asking if posters could be inserted in the papers or delivered at the same time, although they will probably charge for this.
Unfortunately, I will be offline now until tomorrow morning and, although out of the area, will be contactable on my mobile if you need me. I'm hoping she will be found by the weekend but, if not, is it your intention to return to Binfield?
Come on Bridget show yourself. It's very wet out there and I am sure you would prefer to be in doors in the warm and dry.
Carole

Saza
Maybe local postmen, milkmen, paper boys would keep a look out? And their female versions of course!
Bridgets Dad
HI, In all the panic I had forgotten what councill I had contacted, i had contatect Bracknell fri night and have just done Wokingham. Their Warden is off till the 9th. Battersea done, Binfield dog rescue done, All local vets done, Thames Valley Police are aware and micro chip company done. I cant think of who else. Tried BBC radio berks, not helpful also Heart FM, not helpful either! Will do an Ad for Bracknell news for thursday. I have a frined who is a polo player whos ponies are kept nearby, he has asked all staff to keep an eye out. Also, his Patron lives next door to the property she went from and again all staff there have been asked to keep an eye out. At the property she went from, a spy camera was set up last night in the area she ran to, nothing last night other than rabbits! This will be put up again tonight, we are gouing to put food and water in veiw of the camera so if she is about we will see her hopefuly. Thanks to you all again and to Ian my friend there for all of your continued help.
Anything else you can think of let me know.
Daliman
Hi guys, if there is anything that you would like me to just let me know. I will be out this afternoon, so I will be offline till about 6pm. Come on Bridget show yourself little girl. Terry
Bridgets Dad
We did this on Friday night
BonBon
Just another thought - have you notified the chip company that she is missing? If not, please do asap and also check that all the registered details are up to date.
BonBon
Sorry Matthew - from what had been said to me I thought you had these numbers. Bracknell Forest 01344 352000 - this is the number for reporting a lost dog but SDK Environmental is the contractor they use. Try to get their direct no.
Wokingham - 0118 974 6356 and has a very pro-active dog warden, Mandy Dorman.

Maybe check on the local councils website for dog wardens?
Bridgets Dad
As it is now the working week, who are the appropriate Dog wardens to contact for that area? If anyone has numbers too that would be great. I did call the out of hours number at different times over the weekend.
Lankeela
Link shared with a lady who works at Ryslip Kennels at Bracknell.
Saza
Left poster in Shell petrol station at John Nike Bracknell this afternoon. They said they would put them up(For Bridget and Pixie).
Hope you get a sighting soon.
Linsie
Hi.

Me and my daughter are out here again for the last hour or so and met up with a lady walking her dogs who was looking as well. I have now become rather well aqauinted with the fields around here. I will be heading home soon but will be out again tomorrow if needed.
BonBon
Hi Bridgets Dad, So pleased you have now registered and updated everything you have already done in your search for Bridget. Please rest assured that, in your absence, DogLost and its helpers will do all they can to find your lovely girl. Unfortunately, local radio stations in this area appear reluctant to broadcast appeals but, with your particular story, perhaps you will be able to persuade one of them? As already mentioned, apart from the Bracknell News, suggest you also try Wokingham Times. Good that you have done some scenting which, hopefully will keep her in the area. All we need now is a sighting of this very little girl. As proised, I will speak with Ian and try to meet up with him. You have my numbers so don't hesitate to call me at any time.
Come on Bridget, show yourself so that you can be reunited with your family. Carole
Bridgets Dad
Firstly thank you to everyone here and those looking for Bridget! Up date from me, I have been to all the houses adjacent to the property where she went missing. I have put posters in the the area, in the village of Binfield, shop, coffe shop and 4 pubs. Also on the area at the the back of the property where there is a park and along footpaths and elsewhere. I have contacted the police, council, Binfield dog rescue, Battersea dogs home and 3 local vets. I am planning to put an Ad in the Bracknell News for thursday. I would like to try radio station but as we are not from the area, I have no idea which one if any. This morning (sunday) i have been looking in the area since 6am and still no sign. We have been back and forth, leading our other dogs to lay a scent. Hearkbreakingly we have had to return home. There is a reward offered for Bridget, I feel if as many peiople as possible knows this and is aware of a dog like Bridget being spotted this might promt people to come forward. If anyone needs to now anymore info on Bridget or where she was when she dissapeared just let me know. Tomorrow I will contact the council again, as I had been speaking to the out of hours crew. She has had her details logged on to their system. Contact numbers for us are 07798808932 or 07789772664. Any other suggestions are most welcome. Once again thank you to every for your continued help.
Lankeela
Shared on fb. At least she is microchipped if handed in.
Daliman
I have been in contact with owner of Bridget since early this morning and he went out searching for Bridget early this morning and sadly no sighting of Bridget. owner is now currently on way home to Essex/ Suffolk. If any helpers has any info or need to kno anything and can't get hold of owner don't hesitate to contact me on 07772472843 and then I can pass on any message to my friend (owner) from Terry
Daliman
Definetely not. I have clicked on Find any UK Vet and I have sent an email enclosing Bridget's poster to the 1st 2 as they was able to email but the others wern't. Terry
BonBon
No worries Terry. Sorry about the fence but just thankful your dog is OK. Don't want any more missing dogs. Carole
Daliman
Also thanks Rob (Sue)for your info and I have passed this onto Bridget's owner. Here is my mobile number 07772472843 if any one should need, as I can soon contact my friend if you can't. It is also the 2nd contact number on Bridget's page above. Terry
Daliman
Hi BonBon (Carole) Sorry I had a problem of my own with my dog he broke the fence and escaped, but a lady phoned me to say he had gone into her bungalow so I wen to get him and then had to build a new fence. So I have not been online. I did tell my friend and if he had anything to report to let me kno by text. All finished now thank goodness. I have been in contact with the owner of Bridget (my friend) and he said that he has put posters up and did some calling on people but no one has seen Bridget. He will go searching tomorrow again but will have to go back home sometime tomorrow because he has other dogs and work.
BonBon
Hi ROB (Sue)Thanks for the suggestions and good luck in finding your dog. Daliman (Terry), although you are in Suffolk, if you click on find any UK vet at the right-hand side of this page, you can then search for all the vets in the area Bridget is missing and forward the poster to them, although I do believe the owners and friends here in Binfield have already notified the local vets. Unfortunately, the weekend doesn't help in making contact with some people. Also, it is always possible that someone has found Bridget and is looking after her until people are available on Monday morning. Therefore, even more important to get loads of posters up around the area to make people aware. If I don't hear anything from Ian by tomorrow morning, I will call him again to get an update. Do you know if he has internet access to look at this page? Carole
ROB
Daliman, just a thought, as I'm hunting for my lost dog and trying everything - your friends could do a yell search for vets, dog groomers, dog walkers and gardeners in the area Bridget got lost, and post flyers tthem to make them aware, and to ask them to display. I've done that, and found it has certainly got posters up in vets quicker than I could physically get to them all. Also I've approached milkmen and mailmen, as they cover a lot of territory, and travel slowly. At least it is something thay can do from a distance.
Sue
BonBon
Linsie - thanks for helping. Suggest you perhaps call one of the above numbers to see if there are any specific areas that need searching. Carole

I am in Stowmarket and thanks so much for all your help Carole. And I have asked my friend to let me know any relevant news on Bridget ie sightings ect, so then I can add to here :-) Terry

Thanks, Daliman. Distance isn't a problem with DogLost! Very envious of you living in my favourite county! Carole
Daliman
Thanks BonBon for your help. This is my friends dog and it was me that registerd her on here for my frind and I put the details which he told me, but I have corrected them now and thanks so much to you BonBon :-) I actually live in Suffolk so cannot be of much help in the search but I can post updates ect.
BonBon
Thanks Daliman. Please can you keep Bridget's page updated with any info as and when able so that any helpers are kept up to date and do not duplicate efforts. If you have any problems, Ian has my number and I will happily update her page. Carole
BonBon
Thanks Jayne. As soon as photo is turned, will start getting posters up. Should add, Bridget ran off in the Carters Hill/Church Lane area of Binfield.
Owners & their friends - please print off posters and spread them all around the area asap. This is a great way of letting lots of people know about her and has brought many a dog home safe and sound. Carole
Daliman
I have changed the details to be correct now :-)

Have now spoken to Ian, friend of owner. Bridget was spooked and ran off into fields from post code RG42 5PL, which is Binfield, not RG4 or Windsor. She is visiting from Essex/Suffolk and does not know the area. All relevant people have been contacted and notified. I have given basic advice about scenting. As stables are nearby have recommended they keep checking to ensure she isn't hiding. Have again asked that photo be sent to admin asap so that posters can be mailed. Carole
Can above details now be changed to RG42 and Binfield? thanksLast edited: 2012-06-30 15:15:33 by BonBon

Where exactly was she lost? Windsor is no where near RG42.
