Now your bowl is empty
And your feet are cold
And your body cannot stop rocking
I know
It hurts to let go

Since the day we found you
You have been our friend
And your voice still echoes in the hallways of this house
But now
It's the end

We will be with you
When you're leaving
We will be with you
When you go
We will be with you
And hold you till you're quiet
It hurts to let you go

We will be with you
We will be with you
We will be with you
You will stay with us

DEVASTING NEWS and something which should not happen!!

I will send some information direct to Shereen to pass on to owners so not to take up web space on here!!

I think owners need to investigate this to stop it happening again.

Best not too put many liable comments on site as could maybe jeopardise and future legal action. CJ

I'm apologise if i made it sound as it was the insurance money that was important as i did'nt mean to, why did'nt he stay and look for him as he would have had a better idea where he had gone and in which direction, i just don't know what to say his behaviour is appauling i'm just so sorry for you

Yet another youngster lost to the railway - so many lost this way recently. I am so very, very sorry, and my thoughts are with the family at this most distressing time. Too young for the bridge, but run free, dear Diesel - you were beautiful xx
Diesel
Its got nothing to do with the insurance money. he must of done something to scare Diesel and then just appears to have called to tell us he's missing in an area 10 miles from where we live and we'd better call a dog warden. I won't go into the aggressive language he then used but the only thing he was interested in was himself. If it wasn't for Shereen's advice and the support of evry real dog lover we met it would have been much harder.

I am really sad to see Diesel did'nt make it back home i'm really sorry and my thoughts are with you. As for the dog walker i'm disgusted by his comment i'm a dog walker and petsitter and have been doing it for 8 years and Mel is right he should have insurance usually done with the petsitters association i know accidents happen as i have had a dog who done the same by slipping his collar, but i was lucky and he came racing back i made sure i tightened his collar and left a message for his owner, i would be devastated if anything happened to any of the dogs in my care, how on earth would i explain this to the owner when they have put their complete trust in me, as their dogs mean the world to them. He should be ashamed of himself for making such a comment and he should of been out there 24/7 looking for diesel, i would certainly find out if he has got insurance and if he is registered with the petsitters association and go from there. Once again my condolences to you.

So sorry to hear about Diesel....just cant understand why the railways are not fenced off to protect both animals and humans.
Would have thought it was the responsibility of paid dog walkers to check collars, harnesses etc to ensure not loose when in their charge.
RIP Diesel.....safe at Rainbow bridge xx
Mel
Firstly let me say how sorry I am for your loss. As to the dog walker, he should have insurance but he should also have been more sympathetic bearing in mind that it happened on his 'watch'. I've done dog walking and would have been mortified if this had happened to me. I think the best advice anyone can give is that you contact a solicitor or the Citizen's Advice Bureau to see what your options are. Again my sympathies for your loss.
Diesel
Thank you for your comments. Does anyone have experience of sueing an incompetent dog walker who's only comments have been its our fault for not tightening his collar enough? This guy shouldn't be allowed anywhere near any dog!!!

poor owners whilst talking to them this morning were shocked to see an area where very small children play totally unfenced 50ft from the line...I want to invite anyone who feels our railway lines should be fenced to make them safer. To sign the petion.Thank you.

Nooooo!!!!! I can't believe this! Poor Diesel and his owners. How absolutely awful. So glad Shereen spoke to rail workers or the owners may never have known. The way Diesel got loose, then this, those poor owners. Very hard to cope with. God bless you sweet Diesel, you earnt your wings so God called you home. Look after your family till they come to join you, in time. Owners, if you read this, please know Diesel would have gone to heaven quickly and as he is so special, God would have been waiting to catch him. He is just a whisper away, safe and sound, till you are together again one joyous day, when you too, have earnt your wings. God bless you sweet Diesel and your loving family, always. x

Oh No -How awful!I am so sad for Diesels owners. This was something I was really worried about. I used to live in Westbury Lane and 1 house down from the railway line. I printed off posters last night to put up in Sulham Woods and certainly wasn't expecting this dreadful news when logining for more news. I've contacted Valley Vets to tell them of the sad outcome. Run Free at Rainbow Bridge Dear Diesel
Ellie

There were quite a few of us in the area tonight ,no luck im afraid there have been two sightings of Diesel one at approx 1pm at the war memorial hall, then he seemed to go close to the area he was lost but then seen 2.30pm running full pelt up Westbury lane towards the road...where he went from there we dont know...it is possible he could of crossed the road he could be in sulham wood area but he also could be hiding in westbury lane area,we managed to talk to the security there ,they will be around till the morning so they are keeping thier eyes peeled...also we bumped into network rail workers who now have owners contact numbers...whats needed now its lots and lots of posters up covering the whole area.Stay safe Diesel till you can be found.XLast edited: 2012-07-07 00:27:14 by Shereen
