- Annalee. I agree with you entirely. My sister used to own a female Staffie (Now at the bridge through old age) and was sometimes berated for owning a Pit Bull, when in actual fact Judy was from a well know and regulated SBT breeder (And as daft as a brush). I am sure other SBT owners have had this. RIP Beauxx

- Presumably BSL at fault again. There seems to be an awful lot of dogs being seized and put to sleep for being a pitbull "type" just lately. Some of them look wildly different to each other too. It stinks. Poor Beau. Rest in peace little one xxx

- Such a sad tale about Beau. Nobody was interested in him when he was alive and since he has been euthanised he's had so much publicity. My remark isn't meant as a dig at anyone on here because it's obvious that you all did care - obviously his owner couldn't have cared less that's why he ended up like he did xx RIP

- SODC. I was under the impression that you can own a Pit Bull, but you need a special licence? Professional dog trainers insist that 90% of these dogs can be quite safe in the RIGHT homes. I knew someone who used to own a Pit Bull (Before new Laws) and had absolutely no trouble at all with him. Like in a lot of cases it`s irresponsible ownership. You wont be forgotten beautiful Beau. RIP+++

- thank you for the clarification. i dont think anyone was criticising you just all this indiscriminating breeding and irresponsible owners at the expense of the poor dogs. very often the novelty of having a dog wears off and results in the dog having a poor upbringing. i wonder if the owner of "beau" even gave him a thought when he was missing.

- I would just like to clarify the position with Beau. At South Oxfordshire District Council we endeavour to rehome all stray dogs. Unfortunately in this case Beau was inspected by the police and declared to be a pit bull. Legally we have no option but to put the poor dog to sleep.Last edited: 2012-08-16 15:23:38 by SODC

- run free Beau ...run free xxx
- 2012-08-15 14:39 Deb4gsd
- so, so sad, this poor boy had been caught after being abandoned, hoping to be reunited with owners or a possible adoption, only to have his life taken from him after such a short time! I know it might sound very irresponsible but there is a part of me that feels at least he was alive while running free! Run free at the bridge 'Beau' xx

- Sorry to mention this on Beau's page (I know it's special for Beau)but there's another little fellow that I have been worried about and I feel could go the same was as poor Beau. I have commented on his page but nobody's replied. He's found his kennel name is Rusty and it's quite obvious what he's been used for. He's number 40701. xxx

- 2012-08-14 21:57 Unknown
- Tigermouse. I think you are right, he should be given a namne. I think Beau suits him. What do others think please?
- 2012-08-14 21:22 Tigermouse
- It breaks my heart to read of things like this - shame on his owner for not caring as much as we on here do. I know it won't help him now but can he be given a name just for this page? I hate to think he went to Rainbow Bridge without anyone knowing what he was called :(
- 2012-08-14 21:13 Didothepbgv
- Can we be clear on the facts here ? This dog was PTS by South Oxfordshire DW service ? Is this right ?

- jobadger. I agree with all you have said. This can be a very cruel world sometimes. But at least he is away from harm now, and most probably playing in the warm sunshine with Lennox and co. Night, night cherub, sleep tight and run free. RIP+++ I think we know what you mean matthers22, but I thought he was okay to look at. Mind you the sympathy vote wins it for me everytime.God BlessXX

- 2012-08-14 15:58 dewilliams42
- poor dog, its so heartbreaking. sounds like a case of indiscrimate breeding and irresponsible ownership. everyone loves a fluffy puppy but some people dont want them when they grow bigger. its the poor dog who suffers. rip lovely boy. xx
- 2012-08-14 15:27 jobadger
- I'm so very sorry gorgeous - there are days when I wish I didn't belong to this planet. Have fun at the Bridge and rest easy.......xx
- 2012-08-14 13:39 Shereen
- Its ok mathers22,we know that...shame the real owner didnt care as much as us...like you say he probably is in a better place now at Rainbow Bridge
- 2012-08-14 13:36 mathers22
- My remark below wasn't aimed at anyone on DL just wish his previous owner who turned him out onto the street to fend for himself had been euthanased instead of the dog. Nobody can hurt or abuse him now RIP xx
- 2012-08-14 13:25 mathers22
- How upsetting just because he wasn't a pretty boy nobody wanted him so unfair. RIP xxxx
- 2012-08-14 13:22 Shereen
- So sorry to say so, yes...I tried hard to find him before it was too late for him...he covered too much ground...I wont forget him...gutted... but whilst people insist on breeding these dogs, they will be the victims of human race...ok if they were responsible people and done the right thing, but in this case it wasnt to be...im sorry : (
- 2012-08-14 13:08 Deb4gsd

- This boy still hasnt been claimed........I Did get a report from a sighter who saw this dog on the 29th July in Highmoor (RG9)He,at that time was running with a Brindle coloured dog, similar breed but maybe a bit taller.I did go looking for them but had no joy...I emailed the link to the sighter last night and she is certain he is one of the dogs she saw...so that means we still have a dog running out there on its own....he/she could be anywhere between where this dog was found and Britwel salome/ewelme,nettlebed/nuffield,highmoor or even further afield...please keep your eyes peeled if you are in this area.I have spoken to the council and the brindle dog has not been picked up yet...they will contact me when they know the status of this dog...im going to bump this page due to fresh info.Last edited: 2012-08-08 03:48:05 by Shereen
