Glad he's been found safe.

Good call by Angus to email widely as Murphy ended up in the next village to me - Sutton Benger is SN16; Barbury Castle is SN4.

David's experience of the Wiltshire Council Dog Wardens failure to match dogs found with dogs lost matches mine. I was hoping that my experience was a one-off, but it appears that it isn't, and I'm bloody angry. I wonder how many dogs get destroyed due to their failure.

ahh that's great news & just shows how valuable a picture is (even one that's not brilliant ) as it gives a finder the chance to recognise - well done finder and friend for looking on doglost xx

email from owner...
I was not sure how to register this on your site so I am sending this message. My dog Murphy has been found and re-united with me. He was registered on your site last week as having been lost near Barbury Castle, Marlborough, Wiltshire. He was found outside a house near Sutton Benger, Wiltshire about 20 miles away! The lady who found him contacted the Wiltshire Council Dog Warden (whom I had telephoned as soon as Murphy went missing with full details and to whom I had also sent a photo of Murphy) and was told that they had no reports of a dog missing matching the description that she gave them of Murphy). Fairly typical of useless Council workers. Luckily a friend of hers looked on your website and found him on there. So A big thank you to Doglost and please can you post this on your site and keep me informed of any dogs missing in my area so that I can be of help. P.S. Murphy is absolutely fine apart from having lost a lot of weight.

Murphy went missing at Barbary Castle approx 2/3miles from home. Owner has not a digital photo so will be sending me one that I can scan and put on here . No sightings as yet . Dog wardens have been alerted . Thankfully Murphy is chipped. He is apparantly quite distinctive ,just need the picture now to create the poster

Can we please get a photo? It is better for me to cross post with a photo attached. I know a few people that way and can get them to circulate although I am SP10
