hi all! still no joy ;/ police are saying it is a civil matter, civil solicitors say it is criminal and therefore police should pursue. we have had meetings with different police officers, including sergeants; been to see our MP Roger Godsiff - all say dog theft is low priority and won't move a finger ;/ we are so frustrated and angry - been in touch with DDA Watch, Wheldon Law, vets in the area and beyond and still nobody there to help us. we know Heston is a high maintenance dog as he had aggression issues in the past and therefore do not want to find out he has been dumped somewhere and pts. any ideas please and we are scared mad!! thanks xxx

@ why would Heston go to rescue centre and be killed? he has a home - with us. we can't wait for his return!!

Please don`t misunderstand me as I also help with a breed rescue and understand the fact that the dog had been signed over, but could it not be possible that the family members involved actually do love and want to care for this boy? I hope that with the rescue centres being full to overflowing it would not be the case that if Heston is returned.... and then no home is found, that he may in the end face the threat of being PTS to make way for more dogs coming in? This is an unusual set of circumstances and I do hope Heston is not the one to suffer ultimately when he may possibly already be in a good home, even though it has been done the wrong way. Perhaps the family were not aware that the dog was going to be put into rescue until it was too late? Heston looks like a well cared for dog who has been microchipped and to my mind that shows he has been cared for responsibly. Threatening/warning off from Australia is a bit much though.... this needs to be handled with Hestons interests at heart at the end of the day.

Think this is classed as a civil matter. Dog had been signed over as owners going to Australia, they asked to walk the dog one more time and it vanished. It is believed they gave the dog to a mamber of the family. Rescue has had phone calls saying don't look for the dog but police are not interested but solicitors said it is a crime and police should persue. A facebook page has been set up already but they are considering the paper and checking sites on the internet.

Picture coming asap.

Presune the police have been informed as this is theft. LETS TRY TO MAKE HIM "TOO HOT TO HANDLE" Also assume vets in the area of Bearwood have been informed? Paws and fingers xd. Hope Heston is found soon. Keep us posted.

Sorry to see that HESTON is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (42037)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
