The Smiths, I imagine after reading Tallulah's story on here, it really brings it home how miraculous this has been and to have been a big part of her return home is fantastic! Very well done indeed. You were her earth angels and I'm sure she had some heavenly ones looking out for her too. It's lovely to read your post. Thank you. x

This is great, we just found this thread. My wife and daughters found the little one walking down the middle of the A1 on Wednesday at Sandy in Bedfordshire. They just managed to call her to the side of the road (poor little thing), was scary because of all the traffic, but she came when they called her (kind white van man helped block the traffic). She was such a sweet little thing and my young daughters loved her (they now want one). So glad the vet could get it back to the lady, we have a dog ourselves that means the world to us. Happy ending all round!

Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness! I am SOOOOO pleased! What absolutely wonderful news! And, as has been said, this type of thing always gives others hope - when we say it really is possible to get your dog back, we mean it. I so wish they would all get back home and now, but it does prove that many do. Even if you think it won't happen, it still may. Welcome home Tallulah. So happy for you all. xxx

Marie is having trouble logging in but wanted to update the page:

I popped into see her on my way home, she is quite skinny & boney under
a lot of hair. She had already been bathed by the time I saw her, but
they said she was very dirty, hairy & looked uncared for & as though she
had lived outside all winter - they hardly recognised her! Thank
goodness for microchips! She had a different collar on (which wasn't one
the owner had put her in.)

Once they got her home, her owner said she didn't stop wagging her tail
& asked for food.. Bless her. They have since got two puppy chihuahuas
so she has two little ones to look after & got on with them straight
away & had a little play with them.

She doesn't seem as though she'd been harmed, she wasn't nervous or
anything & was happy to snuggle up & have a cuddle.

Everyone is so pleased to have her home.. She's really become famous!!
Lol.

Thank you for all if your help! X

Update from a very emotional owner:

Vet has said she's ok, they've trimmed her nails, she'll be going to the dog groomer and will be getting a nice new collar!

Email from Admin:

I am over the moon to inform you that Tallulah has been found, handed in & reunited with her family after a long 7-8 months.

She was found wandering along the A1 & doesn't look as though she has been properly cared for but her owner is taking her to be checked by the vet.

This is the first bit if info I have, once I know more details I'll update you. Her owner still can't stop crying!
ClaireC
What lovely news after all this time. Welcome home and look forward to hearing how you were reunited once again with your owner. Stay safe and close xx

Marie, check out Coby's page and Coco's page. Can we find out what this woman liked in more detail? Was she slim, long dark hair? Or did she look like the woman in the newspaper article on Delta's page? It will help us. Thank you. x
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Marie, do you have any news from owners? the press is the way to go as PC2710 has said. I can't remember of this was going to be done? Please don't let owners give up hope. They need to make it their mission to find their sweet dog, but more importantly they need to believe it really is possible because then that will lead to the work that is necessary. It is all consuming but that is what pays off. I am sure they are still searching but I have not received any contact. Thank you Marie, for getting this girl on here. x
PC2710
What has been done so far?? Posters on all lampposts, shop windows, vets, reported to police, vets in Wickford and ALL surrounding areas. MAKE THIS DOG TOO HOT TO HANDLE. Contact the local press

Can we get any more info on this woman? Description, accent, hairstyle etc?
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Oh, what a shame! Okay, so we know this woman definitely had Tallulah. Police need to issue that crime number because this is now a crime. Sbe has broken the law by not reporting to dog warden, at the very least. The fact that Tallulah was wearing a collar and tag is suspicious. Please Marie, make owners get a crime number! Act fast before people forget. x
MarieD
Afraid it's not tallulah :-(
MarieD
Just as I say we've heard nothing I've just had an email from National pet registered advising that a cream chihuahua has been handed in to PDsa hospital in Romford. Owner is calling them now.. Let's hope it's her :-)
MarieD
Hi all, we have had no news at all.. More and more posters are going up tho! Yes kinnybear neighbours saw the dog in the car. Thank u for listing her vanda it's much appreciated.
Will keep u updated.

Thank you, Vanda. Please spread the word on little Tallulah, far and wide. For those that can't follow the link for Vanda's FB page, search for Mini sausage dog. Owners, any news out there? How far have you got with the police - crime number?

HI!!! I am sorry to hear that you lost your adorable little thing..... Hope and strength are my wishes to you. Mine just came back after 1 month in the wild, (feisty little bugger), I have had some horrible days and its like being in hell while alive, my heart goes out for you. Mean while I have made a page for my dog on facebook that I now use to help others and to keep fans updated on Mini's state. I have been made aware of your lost Dog by Willow's Mum, willow has been gone from basildon for the past 2 months but her mumy is actiely looking for her and at the same time helps others in same situation. Now, I have taken the libertuy of listing Tallulah on my dogs page on face book, if admin allows here is a link http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=317166141714945&set=a.297368497028043.61408.297207080377518&type=1&theater&notif_t=like you are very welcome to follow it, but if anyone comes with any kind of info, I will pass it on to you, either here or on your mobile. Please let me know if any of this is not agreeable. Best wishes.... Lots of Hope and strength, may GOD be With you all.

Team GB wing mirrors are only a covering and can be removed, so bear this in mind. Secondly, did anyone actually see the dog with this woman? I'm wondering why she would ask neighbours and then not return her. Was it because someone has seen her take the dog so she then had to make out she was looking for owners? Something doesn't ring right about any of this. Any update Marie?
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Any more news? Have you got 100's of posters up yet? Keep it going! x
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Absolutely well done Marie! We can circulate this page on face book too. x
MarieD
Today, a girl i was at school with, noticed that she was parked behind a car fitting the description f the vehicle tallulah was last seen in. Team gb wingmirrors & noticed it was an 02 plate. She then saw the missing poster on my Facebook page & contacted me.. It was parked in the car park outside Basildon post office. I know a lady who is a manager at royal mail so she is looking into this tomorrow. Then someone else came forward on Facebook this evening & said they have definitely seen this car driving around Basildon & pitsea. More posters have gone up tonight & the owner has been on the phone to the police. ThsnksLast edited: 2012-08-28 22:46:56 by MarieD

Been advised that all dog wardens have been spoken to now and no one has her! The fact that she had a tag on at the time does raise questions. Advised Marie that we now need a crime number for this furbaby as this is now theft by not returning to rightful owners.
MarieD
Thank you do much for your help. The owner is my relative, so I'm helping her as much as I can. We have postered parks, friends have out them outside their houses, local shops, post boxes etc, 400 were posted yesterday too. Police have been notified & a 'stand-in' dog warden was contacted yesterday but no luck. Microchip company, vets, kennels, groomers have also been told. Regarding the lady in the car, the neighbour said that the lady in the car was driving up & down the road calling out asking who's god she had, she said she wouldn't just knock on doors incase someone took her who wasn't genuine, but then has failed to call the phone number on her collar. It's all very strange! Me & my mum visited the local traveller site that we live close to & handed some posters out as we know people round there. Thanks again for your help, the owner will be calling warden first thing.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Okay, am sending email to owners. If this person initially asked around your neighbours, without being prompted to do so, then there is a good chance she really was genuine. If she only asked your neighbours because they saw her pick her up, then that may be different. So I suggest you find out from the neighbours whether she came knocking, or did they approach her. This is a very big clue, okay? Secondly, what you also have to remember is, 24th was a Friday. Dog wardens don't as a rule, work weekends, some do. So, if this lady called the police, they would have been told "sorry, police don't take dogs any more, call the dog warden". They call the dog warden and get an answer phone, or no answer. This is bank holiday Monday, the dog warden will be back on Tuesday (tomorrow) and should have a message from this lady and with any luck, sweet Tallulah will be home. If this doesn't happen, then we work like mad and as has been said, we make her way too hot to handle, okay? We poster, poster, poster! So first thing tomorrow, you phone council dog warden and let us know. We are here for you. x
Unknown
This is strange isn`t it? If by chance she is being kept by this person, then let`s make her "Too hot to handle" Paws and fingers xd for the safe return of Tallulah. Wherever you are stay safe little one until you are found.
carolsdogs
I'm so sorry to hear that , def a bit strange about the woman in the car though , wer'e actually on the front of the Wick so we will def all keep our eyes and ears peeled ( i will post the info on to my daughters who are local too ) have you been in contact with Wickford police etc , they have a website too.
