Hope the owner reads this page and realises how lucky they are that you stopped and picked him up, it could have ended up a very different story.x - 2012-08-31 17:50 Shereen
- koalababe im not sure if it was a result of her being listed on DL or not But I called the council this morning as id found her a rescue space just in case she had been abandoned there....I called twice because on the first call I was told she was reunited and called again to see if I could find out how she got on the motorway...didnt find alot out as the DW was busy and would not return to the office until Monday so maybe this is why you havnt heard back from him?...It sounded like she /he was a local farm dog though...thats all I know at this time...the main thing though is YOU SAVED ITS LIFE!just read about you walking around on the motor way with all that traffic at a halt behind you....how weird would that of been!...This is one lucky dog though Thanks to you.XxLast edited: 2012-08-31 17:55:28 by Shereen

- So happy to see this dog has been claikmed. He was one very lucky dog to escape an rta. Stay safe now, and no more running by or in main roads.

- Oh my goodness!! I can't believe it!! I was the finder of this dog and would love to know how it came to be on the motorway. Istill can't quite believe I found myself on the motorway, wandering around on the carriage way with not a car in sight ahead of me but queues behind as far as the eye could see!!! It was a really surreal situation to be in especially when it jumped in my car and sat next to me on the passenger seat (I have cats not dogs) so was starting to wonder if I'd done the right thing - wasn't sure how the dog was going to react to me. The DW did say he would call me if the dog was reunited so hopefully I may find out what happened. I did think maybe it had jumped from a car as it was raining heavily at the time but didn't appear to be that wet. I'm so glad it's safe and that I did what I did. I follow the stories on this website as an animal lover, never thought I'd be involed in one.

- Oh my goodness poor, poor dog ...thank you so much for saving her from certain death koalababe! very strange for her to be where she was by choice...im sure a dog wouldnt be so frantic and running up a motorway if she wasnt dumped there...it almost sounds like she was trying to follow whoever left her there!!???Last edited: 2012-08-31 09:15:07 by Shereen

- I was driving in the slow lane of the motorway in torrential rain when I noticed a van in the fast lane slowing up. To my amazement this poor dog was running alongside the van with the flow of traffic. The car in the middle also slowed up and we all stopped. Nobody did anything so without thinking I stepped out of the car and called to the dog which headed in my direction and just hopped in my car. The dog was frantic and shaking. I was due to get off at the next junction (home for me) so took it to local vet who scanned but no chip. This dog was in poor condition with matted fur and smelling awful. I could not tell the sex because there was so much debris attached to the dog and matted fur. There are no houses in the area only farmland. either been on run for some time or from a farm. eventually left with DW.

- She/he (which?) looks Sheltie-ish to me I wonder if there is a forum where she might be recognised? Poor girlie, I hope she wasn't dumped & if so finds a loving forever home...Last edited: 2012-08-30 12:19:10 by LoopyLurcher
